Kylie Jenner responds after she’s accused of going “blackface”
Kylie Jenner found herself in the middle of some serious controversy yesterday when she shared an image from a recent photoshoot.
The 17-year-old sparked backlash when she posted two pictures of herself wearing what looked like dark metallic make-up, writing, "What I wish I looked like all the time."
Some of Kylie's Instagram followers took issue with the image, accusing her of going "blackface" and of inciting racism.
Hours later Kylie deleted the first image, leaving just the second one with an edited caption which read, "This is a black light and neon lights people lets all calm down @marcelocantuphoto @joycebonelli @chrisdylanhair @hubblestudio."
Singer Zendaya, who was recently involved in a racism scandal herself, was one of the first to praise the photo – though she later took her comments back.
Zendaya "liked" the picture on Instagram, writing "Eff it up" with a clapping hands emoji. However after repeated tweets from fans, the singer took back her praise, taking to Twitter to write, "I didn't see it like that at fist [sic]…that's crazy":

Kylie seemed to take the criticism in her stride, even posting another image from the shoot to Instagram late last night:
