Leo kissing Dame Maggie is hands down our FAVE BAFTAs moment
The BAFTAs often happen to fall around mid-February, and for the first time in a while this year, they took place on Valentine's Day itself, February 14.
Host Stephen Fry paid homage to many of the "gifts" the US has given this side of the world ("foam fingers… leaf blowers…. syrup on bacon"), before introducing the audience to the first ever BAFTA Kiss Cam – and using it to catch out a few unsuspecting celebs.
After Stanley Tucci planted an absolute smacker on Cuba Gooding Jr's cheek, the cameras turned to Leonardo DiCaprio and the inimitable Dame Maggie Smith.
What followed was one of the most adorable award show moments we've seen so far this year, as Leo leaned in to give a surprised (and totally chuffed) Maggie a big smooch:
Amazing. Maggie even returned the favour by turning around to hug Leo after his inpromptu kiss.
While most of the guests played along with the fun – Bryan Cranson and Julianne Moore went for a full on French kiss – two people who weren't into kissing on camera were real-life couple Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander.
The pair, who've been together since last year, looked downright awkward as the cameras panned to them, choosing instead to stare straight ahead rather than look at each other.
