Well, Grindr users are certainly going to be feeling pleased with themselves right now. Whether they made a match or not, there is one perk to be found on the app of late that will be sure to make at least some users pretty happy.
Leona Lewis has joined forces with the dating service to offer users her brand new album I Am for a discounted price.
The news was announced on the app’s twitter page when they wrote: "@LeonaLewis returns with the new album #IAm. Get it for the #GRINDR special price, NOW!"
The album can be purchased through the app for €3.50, which is quite a bargain considering it normally retails for €16.99. The promotional tactic is said to come about her lead single from the album Fire Under My Feet failed to break into the top 50.
Leona left her record label at Sony last year. She spoke about how the break away from Simon Cowell’s label was traumatic for her:
“I felt like at that stage all they were doing was holding me back from fulfilling my potential, to ask me to do a covers album was… there was no love in it.”
Speaking to the Independent recently came out as saying she would never do a Miley Cyrus and resort to wearing. However, while she might be avoiding channelling the former Disney star, she is taking after another performer with her Grindr move.
Last year Nicki Minaj sold tickets to her Pinkprint Tour on the app. Madonna also ran a competition through the app which offered fans a chance to win a live chat with her for the release of her album Rebel Heart.
