Little Light’s ‘Glimmer’ necklace aids Pieta House for Grief Awareness Week

by

National Grief Awareness Week runs from January 27 to February 3, encouraging people to acknowledge the deep effects of loss and emphasise the importance of support for those who are mourning.

Little Light Jewellery’s “Glimmer” necklace, a not-for-profit piece created to support the vital work of Pieta House, is a perfect opportunity to draw attention to it.

The Glimmer necklace has been created with inspiration from the lighthouse, a universal symbol of hope and guidance. It makes for a powerful reminder that even in life’s darkest moments, there is always a light to lead the way.

The lighthouse charm has been created in sterling silver and finished with 14k gold plating, and represents strength and resilience. For many, it offers comfort in times of grief or serves as a meaningful gesture to show support for others.

For many people, it provides solace during times of grief or acts as a meaningful gesture to express support for others. For founder Céilí Flood, this piece is deeply personal. After losing her brother-in-law Keith to suicide in 2020, Céilí found herself grappling with grief and mental health challenges. While being inspired by Keith’s memory and her own journey, she created the Glimmer necklace as a tribute to resilience, and as a way to help others facing similar struggles.

Céilí shares, “National Grief Week is a reminder that grief touches us all in different ways. The Glimmer necklace represents the light that exists within us, even when the weight of loss feels overwhelming. Partnering with Pieta House has been a way to honour Keith’s memory and give back to an organisation that helps so many people find hope again – including me”.

Profits from the Glimmer necklace will go directly to Pieta House, which allows them to continue providing free counselling services to individuals dealing with suicidal ideation, self-harm, and bereavement. These services are an important lifeline for countless people across Ireland, offering professional support and compassion during life’s hardest moments.

Each necklace is accompanied by a heartfelt poem written by Céilí and her sister Fiona. Titled “Glimmer”, the poem reflects their shared experiences with grief and offers words of comfort and hope.

The Glimmer necklace retails for €59 and is available at www.littlelight.ie and Kilkenny Design Stores nationwide.
