Michelle Keegan makes a sneaky dig at ex Max George

We were all pretty surprised when Michelle Keegan and The Wanted’s Max George ended their engagement back in 2012, amid rumours that Max had cheated on the Coronation Street beauty.

While Max has since insisted that the two are friends, Michelle – who is loved-up and currently planning her wedding to Mark Wright – couldn’t resist taking a little swipe at her ex this week.

In an interview in the latest issue of Cosmopolitan, the actress gushed over her romance with former TOWIE star Mark, describing it as “proper grown up love” in comparison to her previous relationships. Ouch.

“I’ve never had this 100% level of respect before – I’ve always been competing with the other person in some way. Whereas with Mark there’s equality in the relationship,” said the stunning 27-year-old.

While she didn’t name any names, it’s not hard to match up Michelle’s words with who she might be thinking of as she continued: “[In my first relationships] I was a typical young girl – I wanted attention and there was jealousy. I think that’s what you learn from those relationships though, that sometimes if you’re behaving like that, you eventually push people away.”

Michelle and Max began dating in 2010, with Max going on to pop the question two years later. However, they broke up soon after, with Max admitting that his dangerous relationship with alcohol meant that he couldn’t even remember moments of their life together. Other reports claimed that Max had cheated on Michelle.

It sounds like Michelle’s wedding to Mark next month will bring the happy ending she’s been looking for.
