Miley renounces twerking in favour of a brand new move
Twerking as dead as Robin Thicke's career after Miley Cyrus agreed in an interview that it's “so yesterday”. Responding to the interview question, the singer enthusiastically replied “I'm glad you know that, because some people are living in the past.”
With twerking gone, what will Miley do now? She has that all worked out. Introducing the 'Nae Nae'.
"It's called the Nae Nae," Miley told the Australian host. "and you have to do it!"
"I keep trying to start it at all my shows and nobody's really doing it back at me, but you guys have got it! I just don't think its make its way to Australia yet!"
The Nae Nae isn't Miley's creation – though like twerking, she is sure to put her stamp on it. The move was invented by Hip Hop foursome WeAreToonz. The group showcased the move in a video uploaded last year titled 'Drop the #NaeNae'.
The dance is inspired by a character called Sheneneh Jenkins in an obscure 90s sitcom.
“It’s really just based on a ratchet girl in the club dancing kind of funny and the best girl to describe it is Sheneneh from Martin,” WeAreToonz member CalLamar explained.
Want to learn how to do it? WeAreToonz will show you in the video below.
