Neighbours’ Mrs Mangel actor Vivean Gray dies at the age of 92
British-born actress Vivean Gray, who played Mrs Nell Mangel in hit TV soap Neighbours, has died aged 92.
The actress will be best remembered for the role of the Ramsay Street villain, having appeared in in 292 episodes of the soap in the 1980s.
Vivean was born in Lincolnshire in the east of England but she moved to Australia in 1952.
She was cast in the role of Mrs Mangel after appearing as a similar character in another Australian soap.
As the meddling Mrs Mangel, she appeared alongside Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan and was the fictional sworn rival of Madge Bishop.
Mark Little, who played Vivean Gray's on-screen son, paid tribute to her on Twitter.

Rick Maier, Network Ten's Head of Drama, told the Sydney Morning Herald: "Vivean's contribution to Australian drama will never be forgotten. It is a very sad day for the Neighbours' family."
