Okay, don’t panic, but Instagram now notifies when you screenshot

Own up, how many times have you screengrabbed someone's picture on Insta to send to your WhatsApp group chat, for whatever reason?

The thought of Instagram telling people when we screen shot makes us want to run screaming into the night and never show our faces in polite society ever again, so the latest update on the app really freaked us out.

From your next update, you will be able to send people time-sensitive pictures to their DMs (basically Snapchat but through the Insta app).

If you decide to screenshot the image, the sender will be immediately notified, again kind of like on Snapchat.

However, this doesn't apply to the direct messages in general, so if some creeper slides into your DMs and you have to screenshot what they said, you're safe.

So now, no social media sites are free from the dreaded screenshot notification.

There aren't enough snake emojis in the world to sum up how we feel about this latest development.

Thankfully, there is no word that Instagram is going to start notifying people when we screengrab their actual images or feeds, and we hope that development NEVER gets rolled out.

Casual social media stalking is way too amusing a hobby to abandon if that one ever come in.
