Happy 19th anniversary! The cast of Buffy and what they’re up to now
Can you believe it's been nineteen years since Buffy the Vampire Slayer hit our screens full force for it's first season debut.
Our favourite heroine of all things creepy, Buffy is a total legend and even Sarah Michelle Gellar couldn't help but share a throwback snap for the day that's in it.
For nostalgic purposes and to celebrate the birthday of one of our favourite shows of all time, we're going to check out exactly what the cast are up to now:
Sarah Michelle Gellar
Playing a kick-ass heroine on a popular US show only did good things for Sarah who continues to work as an actress.
Most notably, she is making a return to our screens in the upcoming television reboot of Cruel Intentions where she will reprise her role as the dastardly Kathryn Merteuil.
She's still married to that ultimate 90s heartthrob Freddie Prinze Jr and the couple have two kids together.
David Boreanaz
David went on to reprise his role as the sexy vampire Angel with his own spin-off show that aired until 2004.
The actor saw continued success in TV after he landed the lead role in crime drama, Bones.
David married former Playboy model Jaime Bergman in 2001 and the couple have one son together.
However, it was not all plain sailing as the pair garnered a lot of media attention after it was revealed that the actor had an affair and explicit texts were leaked to the press.
They managed to work through it though and are still together.
Alyson Hannigan
Alyson has had a very successful career as an actress ever since her turn as Buffy's BFF Willow.
The actress played a lead role in the American Pie franchise and recently returned to the screen with a big part in popular sitcom How I Met your Mother.
She also met her husband, Alexis Denisof, on the set of the show whom she married in 2003. Alex played a smaller part as the watcher Wesley and the pair have two children together.
Nicholas Brendon
Nicholas has not done much acting since his role as geeky sidekick Xander Harris on the show.
The actor has battled a troubled personal life and has been arrested six time for offences such as battery (of his then girlfriend) and for being drunk and disorderly.
He has recently been assigned to take drug and alcohol counselling for a year by the courts.
Charisma Carpenter
Charisma played everyone's fave spoilt little rich girl Cordelia and went on to co-star as the same character alongside David Boreanaz in the show Angel.
She went on to have minor roles in television and has one child with her now-divorced husband.
Anthony Head
Anthony may have departed from his role as Giles in the sixth season of the series but his acting gigs certainly did not dry up after he moved back to London to be closer to his family.
The British actor went on to star in numerous successful UK TV shows including Manchild, Silent Witness, Spooks and Little Britain.
Seth Green
Seth played cool kid Oz in the series and went on to find success in many other acting roles.
He has also found success as a writer, director and producer most notably for his work on Emmy awarding-winning animated series Robot Chicken.
He also voices Chris Griffen on Family Guy.
