One Direction star runs back to ex-girlfriend after drug scandal

While his bandmates are going through a rough time, Liam Payne has taken comfort in his ex (or is she?!) girlfriend Sophia Smith.

The couple dated for eight months before breaking up as One Direction began their world tour in South America.

Fans worried about Liam after he posted a string of late-night cryptic messages about his heartbreak, saying, “Can’t be without you… Worse thing I ever did was let you go… No (sic) all I got left is the thought of you.”

But the pair looked like an item again as they walked hand in hand through a shopping centre in Birmingham yesterday.

A passer-by filmed the couple as they walked by, and it seemed they were very much back on!

Liam tweeted his fans asking them for their support to “restore sanity” at a recent 1D concert in the UK, after a video of his bandmates Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik appearing to smoke a “joint” was leaked online.

“Right everybody concert time lets try and keep the pg rating lol for Christ sake somebody help me restore sanity,” he said.
