1D surprise fans (and break records) with FIRST post-Zayn track
Twitter has gone into meltdown this morning with the news that One Direction have finally released their first post-Zayn single. The band dropped the single at 6.30am, posting a Spotify and iTunes link to the new song, called Drag Me Down (no surprises who inspired that name).
As well as a post via the band's official Twitter, the lads themselves have also been promoting the new release all morning.
Bit of a surprise ! Check out our new single! It’s called Drag Me Down & I hope you love it as much as we do https://t.co/HPJn2Kij5M

The single reached number one in the US iTunes chart just 42 minutes after Liam first posted the link, breaking Taylor Swift's previous record of 47 minutes for her hit We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together. Quite the feat!
Listen to the song here:
Niall had teased news of a new music last week when he posted an image of a sound engineer sitting in front of a computer with the caption, "Final touches."
As for Zayn, earlier this week he revealed he had signed a solo deal with RCA records, telling fans he was ready to make "real music" and show fans his true self. Talk about a serious diss!
I guess I never explained why I left , it was for this moment to be given the opportunity to show you who i really am! #realmusic #RCA !!
