Take That zealot Elaine Fairfax made an outlandish €1.2 million bid in the hopes of winning a private serenading from the band's remaining members.

The bid was made in a competition on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show in aid of the charity Children In Need.

The 45-minute gig will cost the super-fan a whopping €28,804 per minute.

"Ideally, I’d like it to be just them and me in my kitchen so I can get to know them a bit better," Elaine told the Daily Mail.

The pet insurance entrepreneur originally planned to offer about €600,000, but got carried away in the bidding process.

Elaine, a self-made millionaire, said: "I love them all. I am so, so excited. I just can’t believe it because I’ve always loved them so much."

Elaine has followed the band "since the beginning", and is also a collector of Take That merchandise, including life size cut-outs of the band members.

After appearing on This Morning to talk about her win, Elaine was slammed online for paying such an exorbitant amount, with some viewers claiming she had "more money than sense."

However, other viewers applauded the business woman's philanthropy, reminding fellow tweeters that the money was going to charity.
