Police in the US are appealing to anyone who might have any further information on the Las Vegas shooter in an unusual manner.

Five days ago, 58 people were killed in the shooting spree, making it the most fatal mass shooting in recent American history.

A further 500 were injured, either by the gun fire or by being caught up in the panicked crowd.

In an attempt to gather more information, the police force and the FBI have hired a communications company to create billboards appealing for people to come forward.

'If you know something, say something,' is the chosen slogan for the billboards.

They will also carry a free phone number to an FBI hotline where people cn leave tip offs or information which may assist in the development of the investigation, according to RTE.

'We have not stopped, we will not stop until we have the truth,' said Clark County Undersheriff Kevin McMahill.

The investigation has so far received more than 1000 leads in the case.

Police believe the gunman may have had some assistance with the accumulation of such a massive amount of weapons, after a large number of guns, ammunition and explosives were found both in his hotel room and at his home.
