Princess Charlotte’s wardrobe malfunction
Duchess Kate is well used to having the eyes of the world evaluate her every move, not to mention assess her every style choice.
And now it seems that her newborn daughter, Princess Charlotte, has been caught out making her very first fashion blunder – at the tender age of one-day!
The royal cutie was barely out the doors of the famed Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital in London when eagle-eyed observers spotted the slip-up.
Apparently the white knitted bonnet little Charlotte was wearing at the time was put on… the wrong way around. Oh no!
The hat had been purchased at Irulea, an 80-year-old boutique baby shop in San Sebastian in northern Spain, and owner Ayajo Villar has now confirmed the mishap. “Yes she is wearing it backwards – the part that surrounds the face should be on the neck,” she told PEOPLE.
The bonnet is a gift from George’s Spanish nanny, Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo, but seemingly in the excitement of her birth, Charlotte’s parents struggled to position it correctly on her head.
Still, we reckon the little princess is entirely forgiven – and considering mums and dads globally are clamouring to recreate the newborn Charlotte’s look, she may even have started a brand new trend for backwards bonnets.
