PSA: Instagram will now notify you when someone takes a screenshot

Bad news guys. It looks like the days of the humble screenshot are coming to an end.

Whether you're sharing creepy messages with your friends or just getting a good laugh out of photos you forgot existed, the function is a source of endless entertainment.

And the best part is, (bar Snapchat) no one ever needs to know you've been secretly keeping records.

Well, that is until now.

See, Instagram have just released a new function which notifies people when someone has taken a screenshot of their photos.

Those traitors.

The new terrifying feature is currently limited to Instagram messenger, however, fans of the app believe it won't be long before it makes its way on to Instagram feeds.

So, just incase you were planning on sharing those cringey messages from your ex, maybe go for the copy and pastes option instead.
