Sandwiches, sliders and sups: Afternoon Tea with a twist for dads

We'll be honest, when it comes to Afternoon Tea, we rarely think to invite our long-suffering fathers to the occasion.

And whether that's something to do with them constantly telling us that 'it's far from Afternoon Tea we were reared', we'd rather not say, but the fact remains; our dads don't get a look-in.

Well, until now, that is.

With Father's Day on the horizon, The Morrison has launched Afternoon Tea… with a twist.

The Gentlemen’s Afternoon Tea is a hearty feast of steak sandwiches, beef sliders, smoked rasher scones and whiskey chocolate truffles that can be washed down with a refreshing pint of Wicklow Wolf.

Whether it’s the Gentleman’s Tea for Two, or paired with a serving of the Fancy Pants Afternoon Tea – the city-centre hotel is only dying to help us treat our dads this Sunday.

And with the sheer amount worrying they do about us and our notions, we're more than willing to splash €50 and honour that pop of ours.
