Time to confess! More than half of us are guilty of this gifting faux pas
If you've ever had to talk yourself out of keeping a present you had actually bought for someone else, you're in good company here.
The folk at SHEmazing HQ have all been known to tuck into a box of chocolates or crack into a bottle of wine which was originally purchased for someone else, and we're definitely not the only ones.
According to a recent survey conducted by Lir, the premium Irish chocolate maker, more than half of us are guilty of this, with 61 per cent of those surveyed admitting that they have eaten a box of chocolates that was purchased as a gift for someone else.
So, what actually happens when the chocolates eventually make their way to their rightful owner?
Do the Irish public exhibit a little restraint or (like all of us here at SHEmazing) do they go hell for leather and devour the entire box in one sitting?
Well, it turns out that only 10 per cent would do the latter while 73 per cent of people said that they would share them with family and friends and 17 per cent would choose to enjoy just one or two a day.
Far be it from us to cast aspersions on our fellow countrymen, but something tells us that that 10 per cent are the only ones telling the truth…
