So, Rita Ora’s performance at the Vatican has EVERYONE talking
It looks like Rita Ora's most recent performance has catapulted her from mainstream popstar to music icon if the internet's response to her recent rendition of What Child Is This is anything to go by.
Rita, who like Mother Teresa was born to a Kosovar-Albanian family, was given the honour of performing ahead of Mother Teresa's canonisation at the Papal Basilica of St Paul, and it sounds like the public are beyond impressed.
Taking to Instagram to honour the milestone moment this weekend, Rita wrote: "I am honored to have been invited, to fulfill the role as an ambassador to Kosovo, to sing at the canonization of Mother Teresa."
"Singing What Child Is This to celebrate her life and legacy will be a moment I cherish forever." she added alongside a still of the stunning moment.
"Tonight on the eve of the canonisation of Mother Teresa, we, the daughters and sons by blood and soul, are here to honour and express our gratitude to her outstanding life and work dedicated to the poorest people of the world," she said ahead of the performance.
Responding to her post online, Instagram user flooded the singer's page with praise, with one writing:"Was actually just watching you performance on the canonisation for mother Teresa and surprisingly I landed up crying,"
"You were breathtaking," added another while a fellow follower remarked: "It was a beautiful performance! And you looked amazing basking under the rays of a saint."
