Taylor Swift is allegedly intending to re-record new versions of her old songs after Scooter Braun bought her entire back catalogue of music.

Swift revealed back in June that the masters of her early music had been sold to the manager by her former record label, Big Machine Records, and claimed she wasn't informed about it.

The Lover singer accused Braun of  "incessant, manipulative bullying", which he has denied. Braun manages stars like Justin Bieber, who controversially leapt to his defence, Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato.

Swift has said that she "absolutely" plans to re-record music from her first six albums, which were massively successful.

During an interview with the CBS Sunday Morning show, she was asked whether she planned to re-record the old material so she could own the rights to new versions.

"Yeah, absolutely," she replied. The singer began her career as a teenager, and released six albums with the Nashville label. Braun's Ithaca Holdings acquired Big Machine Records in June.

Swift accused him of attempting to "dismantle" her "musical legacy". Braun was later supported by Lovato and Bieber, who claimed Swift was just out "to get sympathy".

Taylor signed with Universal Music last year, writing: "I am now signed to a label that believes I should own anything I create." Halsey and Kelly Clarkson both stood up for Swift online, saying that women like Swift deserve to control their own art.

Artists including Squeeze, Def Leppard and ELO have previously re-recorded their hits so they can own the rights to the new versions, meaning they get control over how they are used, and get paid if they are sold or used for things like TV adverts.

I’ve been a Taylor Swift fan since my early teens so when I found out I was going to her Dublin show on the Reputation tour I was overjoyed. I couldn’t help but shed a few happy tears.

I know she isn’t everyone's cup of tea, some people find her fake, others think her music is cringey, but one thing you must applaud her for is how she opened up about being a victim of sexual assault.

August 14 marked the one year anniversary of the day the jury sided in the singer’s favour in her case against former radio host David Mueller.

As she looked out at a crowd of loving fans, Taylor opened up about the trial: “A year ago I was not playing in a stadium in Tampa, I was in a courtroom in Denver, Colorado. This is the day the jury sided in my favor and said that they believed me.”

The Delicate singer welled up as she spoke about all of the victims who were ignored and pushed aside. The ones who weren’t taken seriously. The ones who weren’t listened to.

“I just think about all the people that weren’t believed and the people who haven’t been believed, and the people who are afraid to speak up because they think they won’t be believed,” Taylor said.

“I just wanted to say I’m sorry to anyone who ever wasn’t believed because I don’t know what turn my life would have taken if somebody didn’t believe me when I said something had happened to me.”

The You Belong With Me continued: "I just wanted to say we have so much further to go, and I’m so grateful to you guys for being there for me for what was really a horrible part of my life.”

Taylor thanked her fans for seeing her through all the good times- the number one songs, the sold out tours and the awards- and the bad times- the breakups, the online abuse and the groping trial.

She addressed the crowd: “I wanted to say that I’m so happy to see you and to have you and know you through the ups and the downs in my life.”

The singer struggled to hold back her tears during the moving speech: “Sorry I just haven’t really talked about it, and so I’m just not composed at all.”

Following the Look What You Made Me Do singer's tear-jerking speech, fans held up $1 notes to support Taylor and survivors of sexual abuse.

Reasons like this remind me of why I have adored the Call It What You Want singer since I was a teenager. Sure, you may not enjoy her music, but her courage is something we should all appreciate.

Taylor Swift's 1989 world tour was a hot topic for most of this year, so it's no wonder the starlet is releasing a film version of her gigs.

On Sunday, Tay gave a birthday treat to her fans and debuted the trailer to for The 1989 World Tour LIVE.

Most of it was filmed in front of 76,000 fans at the ANZ Stadium in Sydney, Australia. It captures Taylor's entire performance plus never-before-seen footage from backstage AND all of the celeb cameo appearances.

Christmas pressie, please?!

Taylor Swift dropped her album 1989 well over a year ago, but it's safe to say that most of the songs are still quite popular.

And since 1989 was such a big hit for 2015, Taylor has become pretty… protective of her lyrics.

So much so that she's gone as far as trademarking some of them. Earlier this year, Ms Swift trademarked phrases from some of her songs, including, "this sick beat," "party like it's 1989," and "nice to meet you, where you been."

Which means that anyone that writes "nice to meet you, where you been," on a Christmas card could face legal action because Tay's trademark prevents anyone from selling products with that phrase on them. Damn.

And now, Taylor has gone one step further this week in order to trademark some more words. This time she's claiming phrases, "blank space," "and I'll write your name," and "Swiftmas." Yes… Swiftmas.

But in perhaps the most shocking, Tay is trying to trademark one more phrase; 1989!

How Taylor can trademark a WHOLE YEAR that millions upon millions of people were born in, we just don't know.

But according to the Independent, she did make one thing clear; the trademark would only apply to the "stylised form." Which means she just doesn't want people using her specific 1989 design on anything else (which we guess is a little better than claiming the whole year).

Taylor isn't the only one wanting to trademark a few things though, as Kris Jenner has recently made her feelings known about one specific phrase she wants to claim for herself

Taylor Swift's 1989 tour has come to an end (at least its North American leg has), and the superstar certainly impressed her fans in Tampa, Florida last night.

And with it being Halloween and all, Taylor decided to dress up as one of the world's most loved characters; Olaf from Frozen.

Of course the crowd went WILD as Taylor emerged in the snowman get-up, but it was her next guest that delighted her fans.

Ms Swift welcomed Idina Menzel, the Broadway star whose Frozen hit Let It Go reached the Top 10 of the Hot 100 last year.

The 1989 tour will officially wrap for good on December 12 in Melbourne, Australia but since this was the last American show, she made sure it was one to remember.

Yesterday is was revealed that Taylor Swift was not only a musician but also a novelist  (shock) and she already wrote a book at the tender age of 14.

As this news was very surprising to most, the singer revealed that if she didn't move to Nashville to support her music career, she might have ended up in marketing.

“I would have gone to college, and I would probably be involved with a form of business where words and ideas are at the forefront. Such as marketing.”

Well, today it was revealed just how much money Taylor is making from her 1989 world tour, and we're sure she is counting her blessings she didn't choose marketing.

The 25-year-old is no doubt one of the hardest working musicians of our time, and her on-going tour is a great example of that.

Teen Vogue reported that her tour is one of the highest grossing tours of the last 10 years, bringing in a massive €150m over 17 weeks and 59 concerts.

And it isn't even finished yet!

Only five other female musicians have grossed over €100m on tour since 2010: Beyoncé , Katy Perry, Madonna, Lady Gaga, and Pink.

Well done Taylor!

We’ve all heard of superfans – the ones who go above and beyond to show the chosen celebrity in their lives that they really care.

A certain Ms Taylor Swift certainly has her fair share of them – as demonstrated by a recent, lovingly hand-made gift she was given at a concert.

“Someone knitted this sweater for me of a Polaroid of myself and gave it to my mom tonight at the show,” Swifty said on Instagram earlier this week.

“It has very quickly become my everything. Thank you, mysterious knitter.”

And while the artist behind the gorgeous geansaí was a secret in the immediate aftermath, Tay-Tay has now discovered her true identity.

Hurrah!

Welcome Jadda, a 27-year-old fan from Colorado in the US who devoted close to a year (wowsers) to the creation.

A self-proclaimed “Taylor Swift enthusiast, first and foremost” (indeed) she started the project last year after the release of Shake It Off.

Writing on Tumblr, she said it required “1000’s of stitches,” and is actually the very first sweater she knitted in the “difficult” raglan style.

Jadda also describes spotting Ms Swift’s mother in the audience at the pop star’s September 6 Denver show – incidentally the second night in a row she caught the 1989 World Tour — and subsequently seizing her moment and passing on her gift.

After spotting Tay-Tay wearing the knitted number on Instagram (the snap went on to garner close to two million likes), the young woman said she went into a state of shock.

“Omg my hands are all clamy [sic]. What is this. I dont even know. I cant believe it either,” she wrote online.

“Like I debated if I would give her the sweater and tonight it just felt right. So happy Taylor loves it!! Ahhh,”

In fact, such was her excitement that Jadda said she didn’t sleep for 38 hours – something which may be ongoing now:  when Ms Swift found out who was behind the gift yesterday, she reached out directly on Tumblr to thank her “so so so much”.

Taylor Swift and Lucky 13 potentially have a nasty court battle on their hands.

The founder of the fashion retailer claims that Ms Swift, 25, copied its trademark look onto a collection of cotton t-shirts sold by the singer.

Tay-Tay's lawyer tried to fight the hearing, saying that there is no way the singer could attend in person as it would impact on her massive 1989 world tour. They also claimed that Lucky 13 has been "harassing" her in recent months.

But the judge seems not to be on Taylor's side on this occassion: he ruled that the musician has no choice but to attend the hearing. She now has up to a week to confirm a convenient time.

The Californian judge explained: "Swift's schedule is not a basis for a protective order prohibiting her deposition testimony altogether. There is no evidence in the record to show that the plaintiffs have been inconsiderate of Swift's schedule.

"To the contrary, the record shows just the opposite. Nor does the evidence suggest that plaintiffs have sandbagged Swift's deposition to coincide with her world tour."

Well, we hope this all gets sorted soon!

This is some SERIOUS Tay-Tay devotion!

We have all seen photos from Taylor’s concert in Philadelphia on Friday, when fans were surprised when BFF Cara Delevingne got up on stage.

But, what the crowds didn’t know was that just before the concert began, Taylor’s biggest fan of all was outside in the carpark getting hitched.

Oh yes, the engaged couple decided to dress up, gown and all, and say their “I do’s” while celebrating Taylor coming to town.

In an Instagram post, the blushing bride, Katy Harris, explained her love for both her fiancé, and of course, Taylor.

“If you know anything about me, it’s probably how I have been obsessed with Taylor since I first heard her in 2006,” Ms. Harris wrote.

“Chris has been very supportive and could even put most girls to shame going word for word on any of her albums (including deluxe editions).”

As if any more of Katy’s dreams couldn’t come true – the newlyweds were then invited back stage to meet the star herself.

The 25-year-old Shake it Off singer saw their Instagram post, and made their day by meeting them and giving the bride a big ole’ hug.

The new bride gushed over how it was the best day of her life saying, “Last night was a dream sequence.”

She continued, “Instagram, meet my new husband Chris and our new friend Taylor!!!!!! I have no words to express last night!! My two dreams came true!!!”

A big congrats to the newlyweds. This sounds like one hell of a… ehem, love story

As recently as three years ago, singers Katy Perry and Taylor Swift were bosom buddies, appearing arm-in-arm at awards ceremonies, parties and fashion weeks.

But their relationship has in more recent times soured – and Taylor Swift's recent Bad Blood video is widely believed to be a dig at her former BFF.

Now Ms Perry appears to be on the war-path herself: she has legally and officially registered a song called 1984 with BMI, a major music publisher.

The significance? Her nemesis released the massively successful 1989 album last year to critical and commercial acclaim.

Coincidence… we think not.

The pair are believed to have met around 2009, and they shortly afterwards struck up a friendship.

In the preceding months, Taylor, 25, and Katy, 30, would regularly Tweet at each other, also posting cosy images together on social media. Ms Perry even made a guest appearance on stage at one of Tay-Tay's shows.

But by 2012 things had begun to turn sour. And then a year ago, the feud was pretty much confirmed when Taylor revealed the inspiration behind Bad Blood.

"For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not," she said in an interview with Rolling Stone. "She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, 'Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?'"

She added that in 2013, this person then "did something so horrible, I was like, 'Oh, we're just straight-up enemies'".

Ms Swift continued: "It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me."

Meanwhile, in response Katy herself Tweeted a reference to the film, Mean Girls, and later unashamedly admitted it was directed at her one-time pal. And evidently she feels the battle isn't over just yet.

Sadly, there is as yet no indication as to when 1984 might be released.

Next time you feel like quoting one of Taylor Swift's songs, think again, as the singer has reportedly made plans to trademark key lyrics from her most recent album.

Among the trademarked phrases are “This Sick Beat”, “Party Like It’s 1989″, “Cause We Never Go Out of Style” and “Nice To Meet You. Where You Been?," according to documents obtained from the US Patent and Trademark Office.

The plan is to prohibit those phrases from appearing on unofficial merchandise of any kind without al trademark symbol. Any we mean ANY kind. The list stretches from predictable items… like t-shirts and mugs, to more obscure things… like typewriters and walking sticks.

So if you were planning on making your Granddad a Shake It Off-themed present for next Christmas, well it had better not be a walking stick!

As is to be expected, the Twittersphere was outraged by the allegations, saying it was just a step too far by the singer:

As Taylor is currently sunning herself in Hawaii with the Haim sisters, we reckon this latest move was spearheaded by her "people" rather than the singer herself… but still, it's not a great PR move!

So it may not have quite have been the member of a (boy) band we were hoping for – but this is still adorable!

Matt Healy, singer of The 1975, has admitted that he and Taylor Swift have swapped numbers and said: “Let’s see what happens.”

Taylor attended a gig by the band in Hollywood recently along with Selena Gomez and Ellie Goulding, and it sounds like the girls may have made their way backstage!

Matt was obviously very taken with Taylor and said during a recent radio interview: “I met Taylor Swift, that was really nice. We exchanged number. Let’s see what happens … I mean bloody hell, what am I going to do? Go out with Taylor Swift? She’s a sensation, I wouldn’t say no.”

In another adorable twist of cuteness, Matt was seen on stage wearing a 1989 t-shirt, in homage to his crush's new album, while Taylor was spotted out and about in The 1975 top too, aww!

Looks like Harry Styles better up his game if the recent rumours about him trying to win Taylor back are true…
