Trending: #2017In4Words manages to be both depressing and hilarious
As we enter the last few weeks of 2017, Twitter users across the globe are taking some time to reflect on the year that was.
Between political tensions, never-ending Brexit negotiations and an unprecedented exposé on Hollywood's sexual harassment culture, it's safe to say that 2017 will go down in history for all the wrong reasons.
Using the #2017In4Words hashtag, people have been sharing some thoughts on subjects such as Trump's presidency, gun control and women's rights – in what has proved to be one of the most poignant social media trends of the year so far.
However, it wasn't all doom and gloom, with many Twitter using choosing to take a more comedic approach to the events that unfolded over the last 11 months.
