Rapper 21 Savage has opened up for the first time about his arrest by immigration authorities, saying that he "was definitely targeted."

The breakout star, whose real name is She’yaa Bin Abraham Joseph, was arrested by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on February 4 2019 after they said he was a UK citizen "unlawfully present" in America.

The Rockstar rapper still faces deportation, but was released on bond on Tuesday after over a week in jail, and sat down with ABC's Good Morning America to get candid about the ordeal.

Reporter Linsey Davis spoke to the 26-year-old about the arrest, saying "‘I don’t know. I was just driving and I just saw guns and blue lights. And, then, I was in the back of a car. And I was gone."

He elaborated on ICE's actions; "They didn’t — they didn’t say nothing. They just said, “We got Savage”. It was definitely targeted." He also mentioned that there was a "helicopter" circling overhead during his arrest.

21 Savage's legal team said in a statement:

"For the past 9 long days, on behalf of She’yaa Bin Abraham Joseph, known to the world as 21 Savage, have been speaking with ICE to both clarify his legal standing, his eligibility for bond, and provide evidence of his extraordinary contributions to his community and society."

The statement concluded, "Today, 21 Savage was granted a release on bond. He won his freedom."

He was seen boarding a private jet with his mother Heather soon after he was let go from ICE custody. He jetted back to his home in Atlanta, Georgia, but now awaits a hearing regarding his possible deportation.

ICE's accusation that Abraham-Joseph is a British citizen came as a shock to the artist's fans, as he is clearly associated with Atlanta's music scene.

He previously has said the "21" in his name is a reference to a street gang in Decatur, and his songs often refer to his past in East Atlanta's Zone 6. ICE allege that he has overstayed his Visa by a decade.

It's time to bid farewell to one of TV's most beloved families: The Dunphys.

ABC is confirming their goodbye to Phil, Claire, Jay, Gloria, Alex, Haley, Luke, Mitchell, Cameron and Manny forever, and we're devastated.

Karey Burke, president of ABC Entertainment, said in a statement at the 2019 Television Critics Association press tour that season 11 will be Modern Family's last hurrah.

"Co-creators Christopher Lloyd and Steven Levitan have created one of the most seminal and iconic comedies in television history", Burke announced.

"In its final season, there will be more milestone events that anyone who has been a fan of the series won't want to miss." The show has always been a strong ratings player for the network, but have decreased slowly over the years.

Modern Family contracts were apparently only up until season 10, which lead many to believe that the show would finish after that outing.

Deadline has reported that all cast members would be happy to continue with the show, as were Modern Family's producers and ABC.

However, co-creator Christopher Lloyd recently told E! News that working on season 10 and changing things up by including a death and surprise pregnancy inspired the writers to keep going.

"The way this season was developed, there's a little bit more in the way of kind of real-life events than what you've seen in the past," Lloyd said, following Haley's pregnancy announcement.

"But you know, in life, that happens where nothing at all particularly tumultuous happens, and then four things happen in the span of a couple of months."

A deal for another season of Modern Family was made easier due to the impending Disney acquisition of the series' studio, 20th Century Fox TV. Maybe spin-offs will be in the works?

“For years I have been asked if I would ever host the Oscars and my answer was always the same…I said that it would be the opportunity of a lifetime for me as a comedian…"

He continued; “I am so happy to say that the day has finally come for me to host the Oscars.”

The Academy were quick to confirm it through their Twitter;

Hart described exactly how much the experience means to him, despite The Hollywood Reporter describing it as the least wanted gig in town;

"I am blown away simply because this has been a goal on my list for a long time … To be able to join the legendary list of host that have graced this stage is unbelievable," Hart wrote.

"I know my mom is smiling from ear to ear right now."

Veteran producer Donna Gigliotti and Hollywood director Glenn Weiss have also been named as co-producers for this year's ceremony on ABC.

Academy president John Bailey and CEO Dawn Hudson along with the new producing team have pledged to shorten the show in the face of dropping ratings.

Hart, as one of the Hollywood’s top comedians and comedic actors, could be important for broadening their reach; especially after the race controversy which has taken hold over the coveted award ceremony.

The Oscars have been hosted by Jimmy Kimmel for the last two years, and produced by Michael De Luca and Jennifer Todd.

One thing is certain, Hart will be putting everything he has to give the audience the best time possible; "I will be sure to make sure this years Oscars are a special one."

Does that mean only one more season with the brave detective left though?
