Angelina Jolie works to end sexual violence during conflict

Angelina Jolie has spoken about the need to end sexual violence during conflict, in a speech for a conference in London.

The actress was joined by British politician, William Hague.

Angelina opened her powerful speech by declaring: “It is a myth that rape is an inevitable part of conflict … there is nothing inevitable about it. It is a weapon of war aimed at civilians. It is nothing to do with sex, everything to do with power … It is done to humiliate innocent people and often very young children.”

The four day summit is the biggest of its kind ever to be held, and it looks like Angelina got it off to a powerful and, hopefully, successful start.

Anna Paquin has revealed her support for LGBT Pride Month with a tweet!

The True Blood actress took to her social media account and wrote: “Proud to be a happily married bisexual mother. Marriage is about love not gender.”

Anna first came out as a bisexual woman back in 2010 for the Give a Damn campaign in association with the True Colour Fund where she declared: “I’m Anna Paquin. I’m bisexual and I give a damn.”

Anna has been married to her co-star Stephen Moyer since 2010. The couple have two children, twins, Charlie and Poppy, as well as Stephen’s children from a former relationship, Billy and Lilac.

Melissa McCarthy reveals the reason she designed a plus-size line

Actress and comedian Melissa McCarthy has revealed the reason she decided to design a plus-size clothing line.

Melissa was talking to Redbook magazine when she spoke about the difficulty she had in finding a dress for the 2011 Oscars, saying: “Two Oscars ago, I couldn’t find anyone to do a dress for me. I asked five or six designers … Very high-level ones who make lots of dresses for people, and they all said no.”

The Bridesmaids star also spoke about the hard time she has when shopping: “When I go shopping, most of the time I’m disappointed.”

Thankfully, Melissa knows exactly what is important in life – and it isn’t fame or the “perfect” body: “Success doesn’t define us [her and her husband], even though we love what we do. The important thing is our family and kids.”

Well, we hope those silly designers are kicking themselves now!

Gwyneth Paltrow has done it again!

Not long after she insulted thousands of women around the world with her comments about motherhood, she has now likened dealing with online trolls to war.

The actress had this to say about online comments made about her: “You come across [online comments] about you and your friends, and it’s a very dehumanizing thing. It’s almost like how, in war, you go through this bloody, dehumanizing thing, and then something is defined out of it.”

People on Twiiter have reacted angrily to her comments, especially those with loved ones serving in the army.

We have no doubt that dealing with online comments made about her is very difficult, but her words were an extremely poor choice.

Gwynnie, you really, really, need to know when saying nothing means you are saying much, much more.

She’s one of the most beautiful actresses in Hollywood, but January Jones wanted to prove she was just like everyone else growing up.

The 36-year-old Mad Men actress posted a picture of herself as a kid to her Instagram account and gave her fans a giggle.

Posing next to a kitten, she wrote: ‘#tbt can’t think of a caption, sorta self explanatory isn’t it? #finallythecatthatgoeswiththehouse.’

Lately, January has been filming Good Kill alongside Ethan Hawke and Zoe Kravitz.

The thriller, which is due out in 2015, follows a family man who wrestles with his conscience when he begins to feel uncomfortable about his job as a drone pilot.

Oscar-nominated actress to direct Whitney Houston movie

Angela Bassett will make her directorial début with a movie about Whitney Houston’s life.

The actress is “beyond excited” to direct the singer’s biography – who tragically died in a Beverly Hill’s hotel room in 2012.

Television network Lifetime is creating the movie on the I Will Always Love You singer’s life with ex-husband Bobby Brown and Angela said she ‘fascinated’ by their relationship.

“I have such regard for both Whitney’s and Bobby’s amazing talents and accomplishments; and I feel a responsibility in the telling of their story,” the Oscar-nominated actress said.

“Their humanity and bond fascinates us all. I’m beyond excited to have this opportunity to go behind the camera and into their world,” she added.

The movie’s working title is Whitney Houston and the plot will centre on the iconic singer’s relationship with Bobby, from their first date to the very end of their marriage.

Whitney Houston the film is slated to première early next year.

Actress files for divorce from her husband

It’s officially all over for Nikki Reed and her husband, Paul McDonald as the actress has filed for divorce.

The news comes only two months after the couple announced their split after three years of marriage.

Irreconcilable differences were cited as the reason for the divorce while TMZ say that the actress is seeking to deny spousal support for her ex.

The Twilight actress got engaged to her musician husband in June 2011, after only three months of dating.

Michelle Keegan has been revealed as the new face of high street favourite Lipsy.

Michelle said the collection includes 30 pieces that are ‘super-sexy, ultra feminine and perfect for date nights and parties.’

The 26-year-old actress said, “I have been wearing Lipsy since my teens. I have always admired their collections over the years, their pieces are always bang on trend, are made with good quality materials, and I always feel great when I wear Lipsy.”

Mark Wright’s fiancée tweeted yesterday, “I’m so excited to (finally) announce my first ever fashion collection @LipsyLondon will be available this July!! xx.”

To which her hubby-to-be replied, “Congratulations darling. @michkeegan @LipsyLondon.”

Popstar Pixie Lott and the Kardasdians have also created Lispy lines in the past.

Michelle’s autumn/winter collection will launch on July 3rd online and in stores.

Actress rushed to hospital following a reported stroke

Actress Sharon Stone was reportedly rushed to hospital during a recent trip to Brazil.

The 53 year-old was hosting an AIDS research benefit gala when she fell ill.

There is much speculation surrounding the circumstances of why the actress was taken to hospital but there are reports it may have been a stroke.

Thankfully, following two days in a hospital in Brazil, the actress was feeling better and even managed to attend an event this week.

Coronation Street actress, Georgia May Foote, has said she doesn’t like being compared to her co-star, Michelle Keegan.

Georgia, who plays Katy on the soap, spoke about the comparison when she said: It’s very flattering to be compared to Michelle but I wish people would stop. We are very different with different personalities and she gets a completely different type of attention because she is almost superhumanly beautiful.”

Georgia also spoke about the different types of lives the two girls lead, saying she much prefers being at home, while Michelle loves a night out: “I’m quite quiet and don’t have her life outside Corrie. She has her relationship with Mark Wright and goes out a lot, while I’m at home watching TV”.
