Twink faces heartbreak of losing her family home
Twink, real name Adele King has revealed her emotional distress at having to give up her south Dublin home due to financial strain.
The 64-year old former panto queen has revealed that she think it is inevitable that she will lose her family home. The house on Idrone Avenue in Knocklyon, Dublin is a Georgian home which she says she may have to leave in order to move into a more manageable property.
She told the Brendan O’Connor on his radio show: "Short of winning the lotto… I mean, don’t get used to me not being in the papers about it because I always will be. It’s a cross around my neck."
She explained that the house was never actually hers, “you never own a big Georgian house like that, you’re the custodian of it.”
Despite that she certainly feels attached to the property and was overcome with emotion speaking about the prospect of giving it up.
“I put my life, soul, heart, money, earnings, everything into that house. It was the home I bought my children up in, was married to David in," she revealed.
While she says that she is working hard to try and keep the house, the entertainer admits that it would be almost impossible to remain in her home.
"The banks are the banks, they’re owed money, they’re owed money. That’s not their problem, that’s my problem," she told the radio presenter.
It seems that her start-up baking business just won’t be enough to allow her to remain custodian of the house.
She confessed she is “working all the hours God gave me” to keep herself out of debt, but she can’t envision herself earning enough to cover her costs.
“I can’t even talk about it – break my heart, break my heart."
The Mirror reports that the bank is seeking to repossess the home with papers filed with the courts showing that as of two years ago the bank was owed €244,000 at that time.
