Adele

When Adele's album 21 came out back in 2011, we all listened to Someone Like You and had a bit of a sob.

Whether you've had your heart broken, wondered 'what if' about an ex, or just fancied someone who didn't feel the same, there's no way you can listen to Adele's biggest hit without welling up.

Now, the singer is back on the airwaves (and in our hearts) with a brand new album and a heap of downright amazing singles – and her return to music stirred up a few memories for one Irish fan.

Stephanie Pope, from Derry, penned an amazing letter to Adele via Facebook last night, recalling how Someone Like You helped her get over a particularly crappy guy.

"I had just split up with my 2 timing, lying, cheating dirt bag of a fiancée 2 weeks previous when you sang at the Brit Awards" she writes.

"I still lived with the p**** and went on a 'f*** you and your secret love child' night out with my mates. I had got pissed as a newt in an hour!"

Stephanie then goes on to explain how she "stumbled" home and started belting out Someone Like You in her living room, much to the disgust of her love rat fiancé.

Here's the letter in full, because you NEED to read it all – it has a happy ending, we promise:

Since it was posted last night, Stephanie's letter has over 36,000 likes… and counting.

There hasn't been a response from Adele yet, but there's no way she could read this without smiling, we reckon.

Adele fans, get ready to be very excited indeed.

After insisting she simply wasn't bothered touring her latest album, 25, the singer has revealed she was only having us on.

She will in fact be kicking off a European tour in March 2016, and luckily for us there are not one but FOUR Irish dates scheduled.

Adele will perform at Dublin's 3Arena on March 4 and 5, as well as two gigs at Belfast's SSE Arena on February 29 and March 1. Yes, we did say February 29… it's a leap year folks.

Tickets for the tour – which also includes dates in the UK, Germany, Spain, Portugal and France among others – go on sale at 9am sharp on Friday December 4.

However members of Adele.com will be eligible for an advance sale next week, so sign up now. Details of the sale will be emailed on Sunday November 29.

The singer revealed the news this afternoon via a video on her personal Twitter and Facebook pages:

Worth a watch just to see her cracking up when she realises she can't say "Hello it's me" with a straight face anymore.

See you at the 3Arena in March!

So it turns out that Adele is just like the rest of us and is in love with Drake.

In a recent interview with ETalk, the singer confessed, "I love Drake so much," before revealing that she would like to collaborate with him.

She added that she would love an official Hotline Bling remix with the rapper and would perhaps mix Hello into the hit song.

"Call me on my flip phone, late night when you need my love." Sounds catchy, right?

She also admitted that she has ordered the red bomber jacket that Drake wears in his hit track video, AND that there's a video of her drunkenly doing some Drake dance-moves too (but we all know she's not allowed on social media on her own, so we're sure that will probably never surface on the Internet. Sob).

So, can we make this collaboration happen sometime soon please?!

Have you seen a cooler group of friends? We know Taylor Swift and her girl gang are super slick, but we didn't realise these three beauties were BFFs… and now, we're kinda in love.

Adele, Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone were spotted going for a Mexican dinner last night, and we're sure there was plenty of reason to celebrate between the three of them.

The women are not only known for their talents, but their awesome sense of humour too, so we're sure their night was pretty fun.

The trio chose an upscale Mexican restaurant, Cosme, for their night out after Adele had finished up her appearance on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

The two stylish actress arrived at the restaurant first and waited for the 25-year-old singer to head over after her television appearance.

It was clear that the ladies were in great moods when they left to restaurant too, as they were seen giggling in their car (which we're sure was down to a margarita or two).

Adele and Jennifer in particular, have reason for celebration with Jennifer's Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 absolutely dominating the box office and Adele's album, 25, setting high sales records.

We just have one question though, how can we get into their crew?

It seems that every celeb in the world is either covering Adele's Hello, or spoofing it – but this spoof may just come out on top of all the rest.

Matthew hosted Saturday night's SNL and was joined by cast members Beck Bennett, Jay Pharoah, Cecily Strong, Aidy Bryant, Kate McKinnon and Vanessa Bayer in lip-syncing Hello every time an argument broke out in the video.

The sketch soon develops into a full-on parody of Adele's music video, complete with a full-on wind machine:

Adele appears to have become the celebrity of the moment as her fans were whipped into a frenzy after her most recent album being released yesterday. People just cannot seem to get enough of the singer.

In a Adele At The BBC however, we see a whole completely side to the iconic singer. Hosted by Graham Norton, she is set to perform a number of tracks old and new.

The duo were not content to have her appearance be just another on stage performance. The Hello singer decided to spend some time with Adele impersonators- while dressed as an Adele impersonator.

She donned some prosthetics and joined some of her biggest fans to audition for a fictional show at the New Wimbledon theatre.

Adele became Jenny, a nanny who is also a huge Adele fan and impersonator. She took to the stage to perform Make You Feel My Love and even pretended to miss her cue. She really went for the impersonator role. She almost had her fans convinced, but the true Adele lovers knew what was going on when they heard 'Jenny' sing.

One of the impersonators, Katie Markham, told BuzzFeed

"The others didn't clip straightaway and then Lisa started roaring her eyes out. Because none of them realised I thought, stuff this, and started singing with her."

After the performance they all got to hang out with Adele which Katie said was amazing:

"We had a chat with her for a little while, and then we sand with her. And, God, honestly it was ACE."

Two Adele fans thought their dream of seeing the singer perform live was dead and gone… until a certain TV host came to the rescue.

Jimmy Fallon was in the right place at the right time for Kristen Smith and Mary Kate Romano, who found themselves locked out of Adele's sold-out NYC concert after they were duped with fake tickets.

The pair, who hail from Connecticut – around a two hour drive from Manhattan – had headed into the city at the last minute earlier this week after Mary Kate's father found them a pair of tickets.

After arriving at the Radio City Music Hall though, they discovered the tickets were in fact fakes, and even an hour of pleading with the bouncers wasn't enough to get them inside.

Heading home despondent, Kristen described to Us Weekly how they came upon chat show host Jimmy just a few feet from the venue.

"We were both so disappointed and sad that we made the trip into NYC and were so close, but wouldn't actually get to see Adele.

"There was a line of cars that all had black-tinted windows… All of a sudden, a door opened next to us and out stepped Jimmy Fallon."

After stopping to get a picture with the TV personality – who was there to MC at the concert – the girls mentioned what had happened, but told Jimmy that meeting him had brightened up their evening.

"We then turned around and a guy standing in the doorway — we’re not sure if he worked with Jimmy or if he worked for Radio City Music Hall — said, ‘I can make your night even better,’ and he pulled out an envelope and handed me two tickets to get into the show," Kristen recalled.

"It was so unexpected. Without Jimmy Fallon leaving at that time, we never would have ended up getting in."

In case you were wondering, Kristen added that the concert was "unbelievable."

Now, if Jimmy Fallon (and Adele) could just come to Dublin and do the same for us…

7. One Irish guy could not get Adele to stop calling him

Adele is really building up the excitement towards the release of her third studio album, 25, this Friday and we can imagine that this will be the song of every school graduation in the next year.

Today, the singer unveiled the full video of her new song, When We Were Young, which was recorded at The Church Studios.

She wrote the nostalgic ballad with a Canadian musician, Tobias Jesso Jr and told SiriusXM that it was based around the idea of going to a house party when your older.

"You can't find the time to be in each other lives and you're all thrown together at this party when you're like 50, and it doesn't matter and you have so much fun and you feel like you're 15 again. So that's the kind of vibe of it really."

Adele's return to the music scene has inspired many others to try their hand at her love song, Hello. It's no easy feat and only a few so far have stood out.

But arguably the most impressive one yet is Demi Lovato's. She performed the hit song during her set at KISS FM's Fall Ball in Seattle and proved to the world that her voice is just as good as Adele's.

With Demi's tour starting in June, we're hoping she sings more show-stoppers like this:

Breaking news! It turns out that even Adele is not immune to a good bout of bawling whenever she hears her own music.

In fact, Adele is very  aware that her music makes you cry, and is revealing that she uses herself as the test subject to determine whether or not a song is good enough to be tear-inducing.

In her latest interview with The New York Times, Adele said that she knows she's got a good tune on her hands when she feels herself start to well up.

"In order for me to feel confident with one of my songs it has to really move me," she explained. "That's how I know that I've written a good song for myself — it's when I start crying. It's when I just break out in [expletive] tears in the vocal booth or in the studio, and I'll need a moment to myself."

So when you hear Hello and start sobbing over the missed romantic opportunity with that random guy on the bus that you briefly made eye contact with 2007, you're exactly the kind of audience that Adele is working to reach. She really knows what gets to us all.

Prior to the release of her latest tear-jerker, Adele worried that she'd waited too long to release another album. She explained that she didn't see much buzz about the teaser that played during The X Factor — she only saw three tweets. "I was like, 'Oh, no, I've missed my window.”

"'Oh, no, it's too late. The comeback's gone. No one cares.'" Her boyfriend then showed her that the tweets actually numbered in the thousands, with good reason.

Hello seems to have been played nonstop since the release, and the amount of memes that is has inspired have surely broken some sort of internet record.

Hello sold more than a million downloads in a week and is poised to become the biggest song of 2015.  So, Adele is clearly content with her in-studio testing process of crying her eyes out.
