Bono’s clothing company has lost €67M in the last few years
Bono and Ali Hewson's ethical clothing company has suffered a loss of €67 million in the past five years.
According to new figures lodged with the Companies Offices, Edun Apparel Ltd has continued a trend of hefty annual losses recorded over recent years.
According to the Irish Examiner, "the loss last year was a 35 percent increase on the €5.3m loss recorded in 2014.
"This followed losses of €5.77m in 2013, €7.11m in 2012 and €7.65m in 2011.
Bono and his wife Ali established the fashion brand in 2005, in an effort to make a positive change with trading with Africa.
Edun Clothing Ltd's website reads: “[It] is building long-term, sustainable growth opportunities by supporting manufacturers, community-based initiatives and partnering with African artists and artisans”.
