Fans have been left distraught after it has been confirmed that Jessica Lange will not be appearing in season 5 of American Horror Story.

The actress has starred on the show since the first season, Murder House, but has since confirmed that she will not star in the upcoming fifth season, Hotel.

Jessica made the announcement at the AHS Paleyfest when asked by fans if she was leaving, replying: “Yes, I’m done.”

Speaking further about her time on the show, Jessica said: “We’ve had a great run here. I mean, I absolutely love doing these four characters, and in all the madness, I love the writers and Ryan [Murphy] and the insanity of shooting it.”

However, fans won’t be left disappointed as new additions to the show are set to be very exciting indeed. Lady Gaga confirmed last month that she will appear in AHS: Hotel as well as actor Matt Bomer.

Lady Gaga is having a seriously good few weeks!

The superstar singer is set to make her always unique mark on the spooky American Horror Story. The upcoming season will be themed as all of the previous seasons have been – with Hotel being the new choice.

The theme can be seen in Gaga’s teaser which she posted on Twitter where she is seen whispering the word ‘Hotel’ is true creepy AHS fashion – eek!

We cannot wait to see the creative stamp the unconventional singer will put on the show – it’s going to be a great season!

AHS’ last series, Freak Show was a huge hit, almost doubling in figures from the season previous to it.

American Horror Story actor Ben Woolf has passed away following a car accident last week

The 34-year-old actor was left in a critical condition with head injuries after the incident, and sadly died from a stroke yesterday.

Ben was reportedly jay-walking on a Los Angeles street when the side mirror of an SUV hit him. The 34-year-old was rushed to hospital and placed under heavy sedation in an effort to allow his injuries to heal.

Over the weekend his condition was upgraded to stable, according to TMZ, but doctors warned that it was still "touch and go."

The actor's family have released a statement thanking fans for their support, saying, "We have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support from all over the world for our beloved Ben. He touched so many hearts in his 34 years."

Ben's colleagues, including American Horror Story and Glee creator Ryan Murphy and his co-star and close friend Naomi Grossman, all paid emotional tributes on Twitter yesterday:

The 4 ft 4 inches star played two characters in the popular show – Infantata in the first series and Meep in the most recent, American Horror Story: Freak Show.

Speaking about Ben's contribution to AHS, the show's producers said he was "a tremendous professional and an incredibly kind person, beloved by the American Horror Story family."

The actor's organs will be donated and his family have said they will hopefully help up to 50 people.

Very sad news has emerged in the past 24 hours, with reports claiming that actor and American Horror Story star Ben Woolf is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in Hollywood.

According to sources, the star was struck on the head by the mirror of an SUV as he walked across the road on Thursday.

The star, who is 4’4” in height and best known for playing the character of Meep in American Horror Story: Freak Show, was rushed to hospital after sustaining the injury.

It is also claimed that, because Woolf was jaywalking at the time, the driver of the vehicle did not pick up a ticket over the collision.

No further details on the actor's injuries or condition have been released, but we will keep you updated on his progress.

Our thoughts are with the star and his family, and we wish him a full and speedy recovery.

Emma Roberts was spotted in floods of tears at a Comic-Con event in San Diego recently.

The young actress was being comforted by her fiancé and American Horror Story co-star, Evan Peters, as well as a female friend.

Perez reported that things got worse as the already dramatic night unfolded: “Evan left the hotel on his own while Emma was taken to another area by security.”

That certainly doesn’t sound good! The couple have been together since 2012 and became engaged in late 2013, early 2014.

However, this is not the first time Emma and Evan have encountered issues. In 2013, police were called to a domestic issue in a hotel room where Evan was revealed to have suffered a bloody nose.

Emma was arrested, but her fiancé did not press charges and the couple branded the incident: “unfortunate.”

Emma is the niece of legendary Hollywood actress, Julia Roberts.
