While we can't understand why we become so enamoured by certain celebrity romances, nothing feels more crushing then when your favourite famous couple decide to call it quits. 

Though we probably can't imagine what the actual people involved are going through, it still feels like a personal dagger to the heart. 

And don't even talk to us about when that couple begin to move on to other people. 

Tragic.

9) Sienna Miller and Tom Sturridge

8) Suki Waterhouse and Bradley Cooper

Despite the significant age gap between these two, we can't deny that Bradley and Suki just looked great together. 

That's it really, we just think they made a really handsome couple. 

7) Zayn Malik and Perrie Edwards

Gigi or not, we are with One Directioners when they say that Perrie is obviously Zayn's one true love.

With Jen admitting in a recent interview that she rarely meets men she really likes, we have to say that her romance with British actor Nicolas Hoult seemed incredibly sweet. 

Despite rumours of a fling with Chris Martin, we're still holding out hope for this one. 

5) Aidan Turner and Sarah Greene

When we heard that our ultimate favourite Irish couple were splitting, we were a bit devastated (though slightly excited that Aidan was back on the market). 

With increasingly busy schedules due to successful acting careers, it seems this pair couldn't find the time to spend together. 

But as they both remain single, we reckon a reconciliation is more than possible. 

4) Evan Peters and Emma Roberts

We kind of love this couple together if not just for their fiery passion. 

Yes the police have been called, yes there have been vicious arguments but we were really excited by this engagement (if not just to see Emma's bridal gown of choice). 

3) Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick

We refuse to believe that this pair will not end up together. 

For the sake of Penelope, Reign and Mason, work it out you guys. 

2) Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield

It's no wonder that these two fell madly in love after playing the perfect couple in the Spiderman series. 

Citing Andrew's demanding role in the upcoming Martine Scorsese flick Silence as a breaking point, the pair could not cope with all the time they were forced to spent apart. 

It's safe to say we were suitably devastated by this one. 

1) Kermit and Miss Piggy 

We don't think we will EVER be over this one. 

We feared we might never recover from the shock of hearing that Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield's relationship was no more, but now it looks like a reunion is on the horizon.

The star couple, who met in 2012 on the set of The Amazing Spider-Man, have long been considered one of Hollywood's sweetest pairings, and fans were devastated back in March to hear the two were on a "break."

Thankfully it seems Emma and Andrew have worked things out for now, as E! has reported the pair were spotted holding hands as they lunched together at a restaurant in Malibu, California earlier this week. Hurrah!

Many suspected the couple had reunited a few weeks back when Emma was spotted leaving the office of her and Andrew's shared stylist carrying a bag clearly labelled with Andrew's name, suggesting she was on her way to meet him.

Although neither of them ever confirmed the split, sources close to the pair said they were going through a rocky patch which led to them taking some time apart. "They had been fighting a lot and they hadn't seen each other. They have both been working but they weren’t getting along," a source told Us Weekly last month.

Rumours of a break-up first surfaced in February when Andrew failed to attend both the Golden Globes and the Oscars with Emma, despite the fact that she was a nominee at both events.

It was later revealed that the couple's hectic filming schedules had caused them to drift apart, something that was made even worse by the fact that Andrew was working hard to get into character for an upcoming film by Martin Scorcese.

“He's lost weight, and he's in a dark place mentally for his performance and he's not boyfriend material right now," Us Weekly's source revealed last month.

Emma was spotted out and about in Beverly Hills over the weekend after picking up some items from her stylist's office, and one of the paper bags she was carried was clearly labelled with Andrew's name.

Strange! As the couple share a stylist it seems Emma could have been passing on some items to her ex, or picking up something for him. Whatever the reason, Emma must have known she would cause a stir by choosing that particular bag…
