Fawlty Towers actor Andrew Sachs has passed away at the age of 86
British television star, Andrew Sachs, best known for playing Spanish waiter Manuel in Fawlty Towers has died. He was 86-years-old.
Andrew died last week in a care home after a four-year battle with vascular dementia.
His wife, Melody Lang, told the Daily Mail that he was buried last Thursday.
Andrew was born in 1930 in Berlin to a Jewish father and a Catholic mother. When he was 8 years old, he and his family moved to England to escape the Nazis.
He took on the role of Manuel in the 1970s, and since then has made several appearances in soaps such as Coronation Street.
