RTE funnyman Andy Quirke has revealed that while on holiday with his girlfriend Grace Power, 25, the pair had a very terrifying experience.

The Damo & Ivor star, 27, and his girlfriend were in Puerto Banus on the Costa Del Sol when Grace was spiked at a bar.

The pair were staying with their friends on Thursday night when an opiate-based drugs was put in Grace’s drink. She then had to be rushed to hospital, reports the Mirror.

Andy took to Facebook to explain the ordeal and he believes that their group were deliberately targeted by a criminal gang when distracted by a street performer. He wrote his message on Facebook as a way of warning for any others.

“I just want to pass on a warning to all my friends that maybe in and around Puerto Banús Marbella. Last night whilst out with friends my girlfriend was drugged with a opiate based drug [sic}.”

He continued to explain how he believes they were the victims of criminals in the area. He explained how a street performer had approached them to do a magic trick and that’s when they think Grace’s drink was spiked.

“While looking at the magic show I believe that the two guys behind us dropped this drug into Grace’s drink. 30 mins later when we left Grace collapsed outside the bar and we struggled to find any authorities to come to our help.”

While he managed to get Grace to hospital and have her assessed by a medical team, he said she was left badly shaken by the incident.

He also mentioned that there have been 12 such similar incidents in the areas in the last week alone.

Andy and Grace, a nurse orginally from Clonmel, have been together for the last year and Andy has said that the ordeal was terrifying and he does not want anyone else to have the same experience.
