Anne Hegerty

The Governess has officially left the I'm A Celeb jungle and she is looking UNREAL.

Though she departs the jungle with some incredible memories, there is something she has left behind.

Anne has lost a staggering stone in just three weeks of living in the camp.

The weight loss comes as contestants would occasionally get treats or meals when they won stars, but mainly the celebrities had to survive off of rice and beans.

Anne opened up about her food in the jungle and it looks like she won't be tucking into portions of rice any time soon.

Talking to This Morning, the 60-year-old said via a video call: “The trouble is really there is no salt.

“About a week ago my digestive system just said to me ‘I’m sorry, I'm not having any more rice."

She continued to tell Phillip Schofield and Rochelle Humes that:  "I can have beans, I can have rice and beans but I am having no more rice because it is just going straight through."

“So since then I’ve not had rice by itself. It just went straight through me,” – delightful.

Fans were quick to spot her slimmer frame and took to social media to compliment the Chase star.

"Anne has lost so much weight since going in to the jungle she looks great," tweeted one.

Another user said: "I like her, she's done so well and lost loads of weight too. Well done Anne."

Anyone up for a stint in the jungle after Christmas? Wouldn't mind shedding that extra winter fluff.

But fair play to Anne, she was an amazing camp mate.

As the jungle antics are well underway, favourites are starting to emerge.

However, things seem to have soured for Anne Hegerty's popularity.

The Chaser was accused of game playing for I'm A Celeb and she's been given special treatment.

Anne, who has Asperger's was hit with backlash from fans of the ITV programme because she was ruled out of a number of Bush Tucker trials on medical grounds.

Viewers also lashed out and cried that she was given special treatment when they suggested that she was given a soft drink to consume instead of fish-eye juice (YUCK) in a challenge earlier this week.

However, legend chaser Mark Labbett has come running to Anne's defence saying that she hasn't got a "game plan."

Speaking on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, her co-star said: “She hasn’t got a game plan here."

“She’s the ultimate organiser. She’s the godmother to my son, she’s already got his birthday and Christmas presents and handed them on."

“But she reacts terribly to the unexpected, that’s just one of the things autistic and Asperger’s people do," he added.

The Chaser went onto explain that it's preparation which helped Anne during her second challenge.

“That’s why the first trial, she wasn’t expecting it and it threw her. But the Bushtucker trial, where she knew she had to do it, she prepared herself and absolutely bossed it,” he said.

It's a claim that Anne's manager, David Hahn is reiterating, and he said I'm A Celeb viewers are seeing the real version of the 60-year-old.

David described the camp mate as a "lovely lady" and added that her alter ego as The Governess is "an act."

“She really is a wonderful human being, she’s an honest lady and wouldn’t do anything at all which is on the wrong side of anybody,” he said.

David also denied the accusation that Anne is given special treatment, stating that she went through the same medical checks as her other camp mates.

“She’s 60 years old. The rigorous checks they go through are incredible… they don’t leave any stone unturned.

“They can’t take any risks. If they say she can’t do a trial for medical reasons, it has got nothing to do with her Asperger’s or autism,” he said.

We love Anne and think she's incredible for braving the jungle – and we are delighted that she's starting to enjoy herself Down Under.

Anne Hegerty has been on the receiving end of huge support and praise after her debut on I'm A Celebrity on Sunday night.

The 60-year-old, who is known for her role as The Governess on The Chase, has spoken out about being autistic.

Anne was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome in 2007 when she was in her mid-forties.

She has discussed finding this out later on in life.

She said, "When you've grown up always knowing that there's something that seemed to be different about you from most people and not being able to understand until my mid-forties that what we were talking about here was autism, I’ve had to learn an awful lot about myself and what I can and can’t do and what I can or can’t cope with.''

She admits that she struggles with large social groups and is worried about how she will be able to cope in the jungle.

She said, “The show bosses seem more anxious about my autism than I do. They keep saying, ‘You must say if there’s a problem’, and I keep saying, ‘I’ll be fine.’ And they keep saying, ‘no no no that’s not good enough you have to promise if there’s a problem.''

She continued, “I might get peopled out, there might just be too many people around. I might feel like going to sit in the pool until everyone has shut up a bit. On the other hand, it might have advantages if I’m not as good as other people at picking up on bad atmospheres I’ll be happy drifting along.”

G'wan Anne.

People are loving her on social media, and she's getting a huge amount of encouragement.

One person wrote, ''From someone who also suffers from the same condition I can understand how much this is out her comfort zone and I am rooting for her so much! What a brave lady.''

Another said, ''Anyone who's abusing Anne Hegarty on I'm a Celebrity need to realise how far outside her comfort zone she is going as it isn't easy for people on the autistic spectrum to do these kinds of things.''

A third added, ''Anne Hegarty holds a special place in my heart, that woman is a gem.''

Anne did get teary-eyed when she entered the camp, saying, ''I’m really close to saying I can’t do this.''

She was then comforted by fellow camp mates Emily Atack and Fleur East.

We think that she is such an inspiration and will be rooting for her all the way – Anne for Queen of the Jungle.

I'm A Celebrity... continues tonight on ITV at 9pm.
