The Luas strikes seem to be going on and on (and on and on and on), which causes many people to forget what days the industrial action is actually planned for.

You wake up one morning and hey, no Luas. Great. Now, you either have to make your way to a bus stop that takes double the time or hop in a taxi that takes triple the pay.

But one smart lad is looking out for all of us as he has created an app specifically designed for the Luas strikes.

Jamie Farrelly, creator of the Luas Strikes Information said: "Sick and tired of not knowing whether the Luas is on strike or not? With the help of this app you'll instantly be able to see whether they are on strike today or not. Also includes the next date that there is a strike (if there is one planned!).

"With no end to the dispute in sight might be an idea to grab this now!"

So now, you'll be able to plan well in advance and never be caught out again, especially since there's six more strikes added on for June. Yay….

No matter how many times you've rode the crimson wave (Thanks Cher), there are still times when you feel like you'll NEVER get the hang of that monthly occurrence, right?

The anxiety of leaking on our favourite jeans or staining our mother's perfect couch can be too much every four weeks (hands up who wears black jeans everyday of their period). And then there's the infection stories we're hearing so much of lately. Scary.

It's safe to say, that as well as feeling tired, sluggish and bloated, we also have little mini heart attacks every couple of hours which sees us dashing for the loo.

Well, that's where this new app comes in – My.Flow.

According to Refinery29, My.Flow acts as a tampon tracker which can tell you when it's nearly at full capacity.

The start-up company has created a tampon which has an extra long string at the end that connects to a bluetooth monitor which you can clip onto your trousers.

"Women need this, because we can't check how full our tampons are, so we're on the side of taking them out prematurely — which is not only wasteful, but also quite physically uncomfortable," Amanda Brief, co-founder and CEO of the start-up, told Refinery29

Amanda believes that the new app tracker will help women feel more in tune with their bodies, just like fitness trackers and heart monitors.

"Some women know their flow well, which is awesome," Amanda said. "Our product is for those that do not, or would like to learn and track more."

Our only concern so far is what if the string/bluetooth tracker is pulled, or if you twist around in a weird way and pop! It comes out. Eugh.

The device is due out next year, so they might tweak that a little bit, but otherwise it seems like a handy little thing to have in your pocket. Leaks, be gone!

It's safe to say that GIFs have taken on a life of their own.

The Internet LOVES them and nearly every Whatsapp conversation with the girls has the odd GIF thrown in, too.

GIPHY has been the prominent website to find the exact snap you're looking for, but now it's gone one further by creating an app that will let you communicate solely via GIFs. Yes!

Just like the emoji keyboard, they GIPHY keyboard will work the same way and will also allow you to share your desired GIF on every platform; texts, Facebook messenger, iMessage, Whatsapp, email and more.

It also has loads of cool features, like the #8BALL, which will generate an answer in GIF form to any yes-or-no question you type in.

We think we might ONLY use this while communicating from now on.

Do you ever lie in bed on Sunday with a banging hangover and just WISH McDonald's could roll up to your window so you wouldn't have to move? Yep, us too.

The fast food chain rolled out a new app over a year ago, but until now all you were able to do was check for the nearest restaurant and look up the menu – not very exciting.

But according to TheStreet, Big Mac fans will soon be able to order from an updated app as well as use a loyalty awards programme.

"We will be piloting ordering capabilities through mobile in some geographies outside the United States this year," said McDonald's chief digital officer Atif Rafiq.

However, he declined to specify which locations would be included in the trail run but we're guessing it'll be a few European cities (like us!).

There's also no word on whether the app orders will be available for delivery or just in-store pick-up but we're PRAYING it'll deliver.

If you are an iPhone user, you are more than likely aware of those annoying non-deletable apps that plague your phone.

We have never needed to check the Stocks and we really don't know what the Wallet app does? Oh and we have enough friends already without the Find Friends application (but your guess is as good as ours as to how it works).

Well, instead of trying to hide these apps by putting them all into a folder and doing your best to forget about them, one tech savvy YouTuber has finally given us a simple solution to rid ourselves of these useless apps for good.

Now unfortunately you cannot actually delete the apps permanently from your phone (curse you Apple!), but you CAN hide them permanently from your home screen meaning you don't ever have to actually look at them again.

Hurrah!

Tech vlogger, videosdebarriquito, demonstrates in this handy little video exactly how you can do this.

Careful though, because he doesn't show you how to get them back once they are hidden!

If you're cutting out sugar to start your (dreaded) January detox, or simply just want a healthier new you, then this app could have the answer to all of your problems.

We'll admit we all have a sweet tooth here at SHEmazing HQ, but everything is good in moderation, right?!

That attitude is all well and good – if you can manage to figure out what a "moderate" amount of sugar actually is.

A new app called Change4Life Sugar Smart can help you to see how much sugar you're really consuming every time you eat. The app works by scanning a barcode of a product, which then shows you how many grams or cubes of sugar are in each product.

It even gives you a little breakdown to make things a bit clearer, like one cube of sugar is the equivalent to 4 grams of the sweet stuff.

We reckon you'll soon be put off reaching for that extra biscuit/glass of wine/leftover Christmas chocolate once you realise exactly how much sugar you're taking in.

If you want to up your selfie game in 2016, then Microsoft Selfie is the app for you.

The app analyses your selected image and then picks up on the user's age, skin tone, lighting and other elements to makes your selfie better.

Users can also make adjustments to things like noise reduction, intelligent enhancement, automatic exposure and colour theme. Interesting.

However, Microsoft Selfie doesn't play with other apps yet, which means you will have to save your perfect picture and then go on to share your beauty on Instagram.

But hey, we won't say no to a better selfie.

Finally technology has caught up with our lives, and provided us with the one thing we've always longed for.

You know what we're talking about – the ability to delete a text from someone's phone before they've read it.

So next time you send a text to someone by mistake (argh) or drunkenly message your ex (urgh), you can stop the inevitable, all thanks to a new app called Ansa.

Ansa is a texting service, much like Viber or WhatsApp, but with the added ability to remotely delete messages, before or after they're read.

And if you're having a conversation you'd rather not ever share with the world, you can turn on the "off the record" feature, meaning you can send messages, photos or videos that "self-destruct" in seconds.

Here are just a few times we WISH we'd had Ansa at our disposal…

1. That time we clicked 'Reply All' on a work email by mistake
After using a few, shall we say, unsavoury words about someone in the office

2. That time we sent a message to the WhatsApp group chat that was meant for someone else
This guy knows what we're talking about

3. That time we thought 3am was the perfect time to re-connect with our ex
3am is not the perfect time for anything except Abrakebabra

4. That time someone sent "I'm pregnant" messages to our entire contacts list as a "hilarious" prank
That is NEVER hilarious, btw.

Between Kylie's lips, Kim's risky pregnancy outfits, Khloe's relationships and Kourtney's kids, there's not a day that goes by that we don't see something about the Kardashian Klan on our newsfeeds.

They pop up on Facebook, Twitter, and most often Instagram… and while we love them, we love to hate them too.

Well, if you've had enough of Kim K and Co. today is your lucky day. There's now an app you can download that will block EVERYTHING Kardashian related from coming up on your evening scroll.

The Kardblock is an extension that you can download free from Google's Chrome store and it promises to remove pictures, videos and texts related to the famous reality family.

“We don't care about who the Kardashians are or aren't sleeping with. We don't care that Kim dyed her hair blonde. We don't care about the Kardashians,” said creator James Shamsi.

And if you don't care either, then this is the app for you.

One of the more popular technology crazes to take the world by storm is the evolution of the ‘smart bottle’.

There seems to be a fascination with inserting some type of monitoring device into almost anything you can use to store your beverages.

For example, the ePint is the latest new gadget to feature on Kickstarter. At first glance, the ePint doesn’t seem particularly fancy. However, at the bottom of the glass there is a Bluetooth device that connects to your smart phone or tablet and basically keeps track of how much you’re drinking.

This is fairly standard procedure when it comes to smart bottles. However, the ePint does have some more interesting specs.

This gadget wants you to have a good time.

Using info from the app, it will know if you’re watching a particular sporting event and light up whenever your team scores. It will also change colour when it’s empty, and keep track of how many drinks you’ve consumed over the course of the night.

If the time comes when you might have had one too many, the app is going to let you know and will even go so far as to ring a taxi for you.

While the ePint has not yet hit the market, according to the Kickstarter page the people behind the invention expect to start shipping them to fans in April 2016.

Also of note: the ePint comes with a built in bottle opener, naturally.

So don’t add one to your Christmas list just yet. If you are eager to get your hands on one you can back the project for €37 and make sure you will have one when the time arrives.

What will they think of next?

Another day, another app that has everyone with a smart phone double tapping or right swiping. We thought that there was very little that had not yet been turned into an app.

However, this is one that has made every Father Ted fan’s day!

My Lovely App (we kid you not) has launched and it is the only smartphone feature you will probably ever need.

Irish design studio Reflex Studios launched the Father Ted quiz app this week and it is available to download from Google Play or iTunes. To make it even better, the app is free.

Users are provided with 200 questions based on the entire series. However, per quiz you are tasked with answering 10 random questions.

The app also tests you on how long it takes you to correctly answer the questions, so you better be prepared for some heated competitions.

Of course you can then share your score on social media.

If there was ever a special someone in your life with a desperate longing for a Father Ted board game, then you should definitely let them know the answer to their problems has been found.

The “ultimate Father Ted quiz” apparently boasts questions that only the most hard core fans will be capable of answering. You know you want to…

Careful now, fingers crossed the trivia won’t lead to any intense fan competition.

That feeling when your battery only has one per cent of life left and you are not within walking distance of a charger is infuriating. Yet, it is something that iPhone users experience on a near daily basis.

Yes, it is definitely a first world problem- we understand this. However, for many people their smartphones have become a necessary part of their daily lives.

Granted we probably lie and say that is because we’re sending hundreds of work related emails when in fact we’re watching hilarious videos of pugs in pyjamas, but that’s a different issue. This screen is the number one cause of frustration for many an iPhone user:

Now, as it turns out, your Facebook habit is not just destroying your productivity levels- it is also draining your battery.

People have known that Facebook kills your battery for a while, but it seems the newest iOS versions are seriously draining. Many people are claiming that Facebook’s killing their iPhone’s battery, usually with background activity, even with Background App Refresh turned off.

“We have heard reports of some people experiencing battery issues with our iOS app. We’re looking into this and hope to have a fix in place soon,” the spokesperson told Tech Crunch.

A writer for Medium points out this is because the app isn’t “sleeping properly” and it could be because of “background audio usage,” but that has yet to be confirmed.

So, what to do now?

Life Hacker suggests just deleting the app altogether and using the mobile site instead, if you can handle having one less app in your life.

Spoiler: you definitely can.
