We asked, and finally Instagram have answered. For those of you who love to create collages with your photos, having to download extra apps with different features can be a little annoying.

Now, Instagram have announced their brand new app that will allow us to combine multiple photos in one single snap.

Named Layout From Instagram, the new app is already available in the Apple app store and not only allows you to create a collage from your camera roll, you can also do a ‘photo booth’ countdown for an instant collage – we love it.

The new app will make your outdoor adventures and baking endeavours come to life even more – we can’t wait to use it.

Layout From Instagram will be made available for Android in the coming months.

Kim Kardashian was ridiculed last week when she shared a photo of herself claiming that she had just woken up.

Still in full make-up with a set of false eyelashes still intact and not smeared across her face as happens to us, it was clear she had not just woken up. But she still looked damn good.

In fact, it’s undisputed that, love her or hate her, Kim is pretty much the queen of the selfie – but does she have a helping hand?

Well, apparently the reality TV star uses an app called Perfect 365 which even adds on false eyelashes (yes, we tried it!) and is free on iTunes.

According to US Weekly’s source, all the Jenner and Kardashian gals are using the app to perfect their photos: “Kim and all the Kardashians use the app Perfect 365 to touch up their photos before they post them on social media. The Kardashians have gotten all of their friends into it.”

Not only does the app add false eyelashes it also adds a slick of lipgloss, sculpts brows and adds eyeliner.

It looks as if maybe Kim HAD just woken up after all and the app just put on her make-up digitally for her – consider us sold!

We’ve all tried our hand at many the dating site and app, but often it just becomes frustrating and annoying.

Now, a survey conducted by dating site, Just Ask Me Out, has discovered what is holding those prospective dates back – messaging!

Rather than going back and forth in messages with someone for days, even weeks with no mention of a date, Just Ask Me Out’s no messaging policy has proved a hit on the London dating scene. This no-messaging policy means that you and the person of your fancy or compatibility have no choice but to head out there and meet up, cutting out digital small talk and time that could be spent really getting to know one another in person.

Founder of the site, Alex Rowley had this to say on the topic of messaging in the dating world: “Londoners have spoken and the results of our survey indicate that singles are sick and tired of dating sites that encourage endless back and forth messaging. Rather than spend days, weeks or even months on end wondering who is going to make the first move, Just Ask Me Out revolutionises the dating game and makes sure a face-to-face meet up is organised from the word go.”

The site has proved a huge hit as it cuts out the small talk and sometimes awkward digital flirting – and has even won Best Up & Coming Dating Site 2015 at the iDate Awards in the US recently.

So if you’re ready to ditch the online dating scene and really actually get out there on dates – this is the dating site for you!

Many of us will be familiar with that cold, sinking feeling that grips you the second you realise you’ve sent the text to the wrong person. It normally feels a little something like this…

This can happen for many reasons, maybe the person was in your head, or even worse in your text and you just accidentally hit their name. Or maybe they were your last message and you just absentmindedly send it to them without checking.

Either way, it’s the worst and can often result in some pretty awkward moments.  Now there is an app that can change everything! Strings is an app that allows you to delete any sent information from anyone’s phone it was sent to permanently. The information cannot be retrieved or downloaded and can even be erased after it is opened by the recipient.

Founder of Be Labs, the creator of the app Edward Balassanian has said that the app marks the future in online privacy: “We think the time for Strings is now. With the privacy issues plaguing existing messaging apps, email and texting, it’s time we had a messaging app that gives us complete control of our conversations.”

The only downside? Well it's a pretty massive one…The other person needs to have the app installed too. We’ll just keep double checking our messages and hiding it when we're drunk until this catches on then…

What do half a spoon of peanut butter, a miniscule slice of apple pie and 41g of Cadbury's Creme Eggs have in common? They all contain 200 calories.

If you're watching your weight, you're probably well used to checking the back of wrappers for nutritional information. But if you're eating unpackaged food, making something from scratch or just aren't mathematically minded, it can be difficult to figure our just how many calories you're consuming per portion.

A new app called Calorific aims to simplify healthy eating by showing you just how much food you need to eat to take in 200 calories. While it doesn't specify how food is cooked (eg. fried egg versus scrambled egg), it does give you a pretty solid idea of how much food is too much when you're counting calories.

So you'll now just how much cheddar to put in your lunchtime sandwich, or how many restaurant breadsticks are enough:

And next time you're making a bacon sarnie, you can keep these pictures in mind:

The apps creator, Aterm Petakov, says Calorific will hopefully re-educate people about the food they're consuming. "The truth is, most people eat junk and know that it's junk," he said. "What they need is a way to be held accountable for those choices and change them over time."

Sounds good to us!

Many people using Tinder in Ireland may have come across a young female by the name of Natalia as they swipe.

However, when you click in to see some more of Natalia’s photos, a stark message appears reading: “Made Up To Work Here But Too Young To Be There – Girls as young as 14 years old are trafficked into Ireland for sexual exploitation.”

The campaign is being run by the Immigrant Council of Ireland and concludes: “Sex trafficking victims have no options. You have the option to help end it now. Visit www.turnofftheredlight.ie/action.”

Other dating profiles set up by agency eightytwety on behalf of the council show women by the names of Ana and Kim, who can be seen to be suffering from violence in their photos.

What a fantastic and striking campaign, we really hope it can help to put an end to the suffering of women and children being sex trafficked in Ireland.

Some people on Tinder need to be avoided – there is no two ways about it.

Here are five guys you will want to swipe left on Tinder…!

 1. The guy that lists ‘’ being a full-time legend’’ in his personal info

jlo gif

This is pretty self-explanatory. We are not back in third year in secondary school and Tinder is not your homework journal. Next.

 2. The guy that thinks he can flirt

ross flirting

So your phone vibrates and informs you that you have a new tinder match. Mildly interested you open the app to see who could be your future boyfriend. He has even sent you a message. Heart racing, you open it thinking about all the cute dates you two could go on but then this is what awaits you. "Hey there nice dress but I bet it would look better on my  floor". Block him, delete him, do whatever needs to be done. No one should be subjected to such a conversation.

 3. The guy that communicates with emojis

Just. No.

4. The guy that is most definitely still in school

So he may be eighteen which technically means he can be on Tinder, but seriously? A match? Aaand, swipe.

Let’s not waste any more time talking – it’s time to get our hands on the app that could save us so many embarrassing moments! You can get it from iOS for iPhones, or the Google Play Store for androids.

In this age of communication, long distance relationships are becoming more and more common. As well as more people meeting online, with so many young people leaving Ireland to find work you might find yourself suddenly in a different country from your beloved.

There are ways to make it work though, and app developers are on the case. Here are three relationship apps which will help the two of you stay in touch.

Couple

Couple is basically just a social network, but for only two people. You can send messages, share photos, and schedule important events – from you anniversary to your nightly Skype call.

Cutest of all, it has a feature called “Thumb Kissing” where it will show you where your partners thumb is pressed on their screen so you can press your there too. Aww.

Avocado

With Avocado you can send messages between the two of you, share lists and archive special moments.

You can also create personal emoticon – “photocons” – shared just between the two of you.

The sweetest part is the name; avocados only grow in pairs.

2Life

This is the most comprehensive couples app. With this you can not only chat privately, create lists and record events, but you can share a daily journal between you to record your feeling while apart.

It’s the next best thing to being in the same room.

Are you one of the 1,000,000,000 people who have the Facebook Messenger app on their phone?

You are also probably one of the 90% of people who don’t read the Terms and Conditions before accepting.

If so you might be in for a shock.

Facebook is not known for its defence of privacy at the best of times, but when one man actually stopped to read the terms and conditions for the messaging app he was left speechless.

When you install Facebook Messenger you not only give it access to all your personal details, but it can record you using the camera and microphone, at any time, without asking.

Using the app, Facebook can take and send on any information about you it wants, and can even call and text people with your phone without you knowing about it. And it’s you who is charged for the privilege.

Scary.

If you decide to keep this app, keep a close watch for any unexplained charges. Your phone could be living a life of its own.

The most worrying Terms and Conditions include:

– Allows the app to call phone numbers without your intervention. This may result in unexpected charges or calls. Malicious apps may cost you money by making calls without your confirmation.

– Allows the app to send SMS messages. This may result in unexpected charges. Malicious apps may cost you money by sending messages without your confirmation.

– Allows the app to record audio with microphone. This permission allows the app to record audio at any time without your confirmation

– Allows the app to take pictures and videos with the camera. This permission allows the app to use the camera at any time without your confirmation.

– Allows the app to read your phone's call log, including data about incoming and outgoing calls. This permission allows apps to save your call log data, and malicious apps may share call log data without your knowledge.

– Allows the app to read data about your contacts stored on your phone, including the frequency with which you've called, emailed, or communicated in other ways with specific individuals.

– Allows the app to read personal profile information stored on your device, such as your name and contact information. This means the app can identify you and may send your profile information to others.

– Allows the app to access the phone features of the device. This permission allows the app to determine the phone number and device IDs, whether a call is active, and the remote number connected by a call.

Allows the app to get a list of accounts known by the phone. This may include any accounts created by applications you have installed.

If you’ve ever spotted someone on the street and wondered where you could get a dress just like their’s, Kate Bosworth’s app is the thing you need.

All you have to do is snap a photo of the thing you’re looking for, and the app, called Style Thief, will do an image search online to see where it’s available to buy. In order to make money, Style Thief will then receive a commission of the retail sales.

Bosworth explained her idea: “Everyone has fashion envy. Everyone can relate to that feeling of looking at an editorial, for example – or a friend, or the runway, for that matter – wanting to steal something exactly as you’re seeing it, or something similar.”

There are a few other similar apps around, but none that have really taken the world by storm, so Kate has plenty of opportunity to cause a splash.

We think the idea sounds great, though it might be a tad awkward if we start snapping photos of strangers on the street!

Crown paints have developed what might be the handiest app ever.

We can finally kiss goodbye to multi-coloured dots of paint all over the wall, as we desperately try to decide between Simple White and Caribbean White. MyRoomPainter allows you to just take a photo on your phone, and use the search & match feature to find paint colour inspiration that will complement your furniture.

However, if you read the reviews on Google Play, it looks like there are still a few kinks that need ironing out – but still, it’s got potential!
