She mightn’t know the date of her best friend’s birthday, but Gigi Hadid is well able to choose the perfect autumnal hairstyle.

The normally blonde model seems to have veered away from her signature Cali style as she has been pictured sporting a notably darker hue.

Bronde has effectively bypassed ombre to become A/W16’s prettiest shade.

And since it suits a variety of skin tones, is easy to maintain and allows wearers to gently transition between seasons, it’s easy to see why.

Thank you @luigiandiango & @anna_dello_russo for one of my favorite cover stories!!!!!!  @voguejapan

While it is still unclear as to whether or not Gigi will stick with her new bronde ‘do, we think the 21-year-old’s hair is an ideal shade for those looking to boost their manes with some subtle Fall feels.

There’s nothing like a new candle to help a home make the reluctant transition from Summer to Autumn/Winter.

But while the darker evenings already have us craving rhubarb and blackberry-type scents, we can’t say we’ve ever wished our rooms smelled like laptops.

A South Carolinian Apple accessory store is selling “New Mac” scented candles to help people get their favourite computer smell without actually having to invest in another MacBook.

As random they are, the unique candles – which contain hints of mint, peach, basil, lavender, mandarin and sage – have been a huge hit with Twelve South’s customers, with the first batch of New Mac scents selling out in just one day.

According to the store’s website, the $24 soy wax candles will be back in stock later this month.

Autumn is finally here!

The leaves are falling from the trees, hats and scarves are finally acceptable attire AND the pumpkin spice plague is back.

I call it a plague because it seems as though everywhere I look WHAM… there's a pumpkin flavoured something.

The latest ridiculous use of pumpkin spice is actually brilliant in a weird way.

Youtube nail artist twi_star recently posted a video on her channel, and it has the Internet TALKING.

Angel posted a video of her using pumpkin spice as a coating on her nails, kind of like a weird cinnamon flavoured glitter?

Anyway, the results are gross, and yet we can't help but think there are people out there who will do this!

What are your thoughts ladies?

Picking up a fabulous – and affordable – present for the small one in your life isn't always easy.

But we were pretty bowled over by the cuteness of these pinafores from Penneys.

A steal at just €14, they come in four colours perfect for autumn: denim, green, black, and burgundy.

We're sold!

So we know there are only two weeks left of autumn and therefore two weeks until the official start of winter (NOOO!),  but there is still plenty of time to incorporate the autumnal colour palette into your make up regime.

Sumptuous burnt oranges, leafy greens and deep, mahogany browns were all big beauty trends on this year's A/W catwalks.

You know what we’re talking about.

Here’s how you can embrace autumn on your face:

1. Autumn Flame

The trend: Burnt, smoky oranges are the perfect autumnal colours as seen here on the A/W 2015 catwalk for Hervé Léger . Don't be afraid to embrace these sultry tones across the face.

Make it work for you: Use a pigmented, bright orange across the eyelid (smoke out with a soft brown if it is too intense). Then take a soft coral toned blush across the cheeks and finish with a peachy hue on the lips for a look that ignites your features.

2. Autumn Forest

The trend: Forget the traditional smoky eye using black and grey tones and opt instead for warm brown hues.

Make it work for you: Use a beige eye shadow for the inner crease before using a deep mahogany shade across the entire outer eye area. Smoke this colour right out to the crease and underneath the lash line. Use a gold or honey shadow to bring the autumnal shade right up to the lash line. Keep the rest of the face matte and nude; finish with a brown eyeliner or mascara.

3. Autumn Leaves

The trend: Green might not be the first colour you think of when doing your eyeshadow but deep greens are really gorgeous in combination especially with sallow skin. Just as browns enhance a green eye, greens do the same for brown eyes.

Make it work for you: Use a soft brown tone on the lids and inner eye area before smoking out with a deep, forest green shade. Use a green liner to define the eyes and finish with a brown mascara.

'Tis the season for autumnal delights in the kitchen – and that means hearty, wholesome food to warm you up and satisfy your hunger.

And if you find yourself reaching for the same old recipes, this squash, red onion and quinoa bake could well be JUST what you're after.

It's actually incredible easy to pull together, and particularly with squash in season at the moment, it's also packed full of tasty, everyday ingredients that thankfully don't involve a trip to bizarre health-food stores.

Enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • 650-700g of butternut squash, peeled, seeds removed, and cut into 2cm cubes
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
  • A small red onion, chopped
  • 1 leek, cut in half, cleaned thoroughly, and chopped
  • 2/3 garlic cloves, minced
  • Fresh thyme
  • 50/60g of Parmesan, grated
  • 3 eggs
  • 125mls low fat milk
  • 125g of cooked quinoa

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 220C and cover a baking sheet with parchment or foil.
  2. Place the cubed squash on the paper with half of the olive oil and season with salt and pepper, then pop in the oven and roast for about 30minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Remove from the oven and turn the heat down to 180C.
  4. Meanwhile, heat the remaining olive oil in a pan and add your onion. After about 3minutes add the leek and a generous pinch of salt. Cook for another 3-5minutes until tender.
  5. Add the garlic and a handful of thyme and cook, stirring until the garlic is fragrant – 30seconds to a minute. Remove from the heat.
  6. Oil a baking dish or gratin.
  7. In a large bowl, beat the eggs and add salt and pepper to taste. Next, whisk in the milk. Add onions and leek mixture, the squash, Parmesan and quinoa, and combine well.
  8. Scrape into the prepared baking dish.
  9. Bake for 35 to 40minutes, until set and the top is lightly browned.
  10. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 10minutes before serving.

Today, the SHEmazing team went behind-the-scenes in Dundrum Town Centre to check out the amazing trends it's offering this season.

From high street stores to high end designers, there's something to suit everyone. With over 2,000 brands housed in the centre, no matter what budget, age group or style, they will have you covered!

Speaking at the event today, stylist Colm Corrigan said, "I'm really excited about the collections at Dundrum Town Centre this season, the AW15 catwalks have really come alive! Out four key trends touch on some of the most prominent and accessible trends for ladies and gents of all ages."

And we love the trends they showed us this afternoon! They are really stepping outside-of-the-box for the next season, but it all works fabulously and will be a great guide to stick to over the next few months:

Great Lengths

Hemlines are heading for the floor! From popular lengths sitting just under the knee, to mid calf length and full on ground grazing maxis, you'll see that the A-line style is key with long pencil skirts coming in close second.

Have fun pairing different length boots to really push this trend!

New Opulence

Fashion is feeling romantic this season with shimmering brocades, jacquards and layers of lace from most collections, so feeling regal this winter won't be difficult.

Mixing and matching textures is key with gold tones, hearty pinks and burnt orange hues being bang on trend.

Contrast

Instead of head to toe black this winter (which some of us can REALLY be guilty of), drape yourself in this seasons beat tones. To bring the mix of colours up a notch, pair pale pink with yellows and lilac tones with scarlet red.

Rich burgundy will be your best friend this season while keeping accessories on a similar palette.

New Tradition

Borrowing from the boys (woo) … and you granny, heritage gets a modern twist this season. Think quirky film director Wes Anderson (Grand Budapest Hotel) with a new fashion line!

Checks and tweeds are mixed with leather and PVC in fun, bold styles. Cue the rise of the modern geek!

Nowadays, the minute autumn hits, everyone becomes obsessed with pumpkin spice. There’s no escape from it!

Last year, roughly one in three people picked up something pumpkin-y, with the assumption that the number will grow this year.

Everyone has put their spin in the Halloween treat, from scones to soda – but here are five facts about our pumpkin spice obsession that you should know:

It’s a $361 (€322) MILLION business

Yep, that figure is correct. It’s no wonder companies are coming out with everything pumpkin-spice to capture a bit of the buzz. They want to bank in on the cash too.

Pumpkin gets more attention than apples

No other fruit or vegetable is as popular this time of year. Apples haven't had the same marketing blitz behind it that say, the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte has, with countdowns to its release, an official Twitter account and a 10-year anniversary campaign in 2013.

The world loves to add caramel to their spice

According to Pinterest, this year, pumpkin isn’t the only thing we’re obsessing over. Nope, the people of the world have stepped it up a notch and like to mix it up with some salted caramel. Indulge? Us? Never…

The calories are shocking

There are 410 calories in a pumpkin-spiced latte. Wow, we know. Now that includes whole milk and cream. But if you want to enjoy a bit of spice on the lighter side, stick to non-fat milk and no cream as it brings the calories down to 260. Still though, you can’t have a spiced latter with no cream.

RUN to Starbucks on Halloween

According to My Fitness Pal, Halloween day is the most popular day of the year to consume the autumn treat. There was a 7.3 percent rise in people drinking the spiced coffee on that day than any other. So if you want to grab a bit of spice, run to Starbucks! You don’t want to miss out.

The pumpkin-spice trend is on fire right now!

Between pumpkin-spice scones, lattes and even soda drinks, the sweet treat has been taken to a whole new level.

Vanilla ice cream, Oreos, pumpkin spice mix and salted caramel sauce combine in a decadent milkshake that you'll want to be sipping all through autumn.

And if you love eating Oreos with milk (we know you do), then you'll love the creamy texture of this easy-to-make shake.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tablespoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 tablespoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 tablespoon ground allspice
  • 4 Oreos (plus the rest of the pack for dunking)
  • 3 scoops vanilla ice cream
  • 1/2 glass of milk
  • Salted caramel, for drizzling

1. Mix the cinnamon, nutmeg, ground ginger and ground allspice together – this is your pumpkin spice mix.

2. Blend the spice mix, Oreos, vanilla ice cream and milk.

3. Pour mixture into a glass and drizzle with caramel sauce.

The arrival of the autumn season is derided by some, and heralded by others.

But whatever camp you find yourself in, there’s no denying that the end of summer forces you to update your look.

Out are the flip-flops and flimsy skirts – you root around and rediscover scarves, jackets and hats that haven’t been seen since March.

Our diets are given something of an overhaul too… because no one wants to be munching on carrot batons and Caprese salad when there’s a chill in the air.

And it’s important that we don’t neglect our tresses either: in fact, September is just about the perfect month to update your hair.

It doesn’t have to be drastic, but a few tweaks will really tick you over into winter and through the festive party season.

SHEmazing! spoke to the experts at Toni&Guy in Dundrum Town Centre – which recently marked its 10th anniversary – for top tips and expert insight into hair trends for 2016.

The result is three key, achievable looks that have oodles of wow-factor. Better still, these are looks that you can try at home RIGHT now…

1) A twist on your lob: if your long bob of the summer has grown out to a medium length shape now all is not lost… Until you can make it in for your next cut create a Forties glamour feel with structured waves to bring you through to A/W.

You’ll need:

  • Heat protection spray (we love Label.m’s Protein Spray, priced at €17.50)
  • Hair Spray
  • Volume mousse
  • A curling tongs or waver
  • A bristle brush (again, Label.m has a stellar offering for €16.40)
  1. Shampoo and condition your hair before gently towel drying. Next layer your heat protection spray through the hair followed by the volume mousse, carefully taking sections and distributing evenly.
  2. Hair can now be blast dried. Using your fingers to brush through the hair, dry it roughly in the direction of where your parting will be. Hair needs to be 100 percent dry.
  3. Clip away the front sections and begin to wave your hair with waver, starting from the back, working forwards taking 10cm sections. The curler or waver will create an effortless effect.
  4. Once you're satisfied that the curls have cooled and set, tease the hair out into a more 'lived-in' feel.
  5. Secure hair on one side behind the ear for an asymmetric feel and finish with hair spray.

2) Beach braids be gone: The classic ponytail takes over from summer braids bringing a more groomed and glamorous feel for autumn/winter. Best done on day-old hair this is a time-saving, stand-out look.

You’ll need:

  • Back-combing brush
  • Hair jewellery or accessories (Toni & Guy has a particularly cool range)
  • Volumising spray
  • Hairspray (Quick Dry by Redken, priced at €14.20, is a good bet)
  1. Part your hair to the left or right with a low exaggerated, side parting.
  2. Apply a volumising spray in crown area and tease/backcomb to create a low beehive.
  3. Secure into a ponytail at the nape of the neck.
  4. Adorn shape with a pretty hair jewel at the front or to the side.

3) Sleek and shine: Wet-look locks are still a fashion fix must-have. Make the style ultra-wearable by creating an edgy, sleeked-back look.

You’ll need:

  • Volume mousse
  • Extra strong gel (take a look at Label.m’s version for €13.90)
  • Hairspray
  • A length of black elastic
  • Wide-toothed comb
  • Bristle brush
  1. Apply some extra strong gel from roots to ends on dry hair.
  2. With your comb make a spotless clean centre parting. Using your brush, slick and secure in to a low ponytail.
  3. Wrap the length of elastic along the ponytail.
  4. Finish with some hairspray.

As well as on-trend hair and styling services, Toni&Guy Dundrum boasts lots of lovely added extras such as head massages and giant reclining chairs at its basins. Refreshments on offer include – hurrah! – herbal teas, red and white wine, and cold beers so you can REALLY relax.
