When Lena Dunham ever so eloquently revealed to the world that Ariana Grande’s Side to Side is secretly about “getting railed so hard you can’t walk”, Ariana subtly hinted that the Girls creator’s interpretation was in fact true by retweeting her statement.

But while she might be owning the NSFW meaning of her song online, in person Ariana is a whole lot more coy.

During a new interview with Ellen DeGeneres the former Nickelodeon star was left squirming in her seat when the show’s host asked her to explain the meaning of the lyric “dick bicycle”.

Even after spending a few moments with her head buried in her hands with embarrassment, the best the 23-year-old popstar could come up with was: “You know, ah….I don’t know actually…we should I think uh…I was on the bike…I sang…that happened and you know.”

The interview then continued on its descent into total mortification when Ellen asked the singer about her much talked about relationship with Mac Miller.

So, have you ever wondered how you would react if you actually got to meet Beyoncé?

We reckon there could be tears, she is a pretty big deal after all. When you add Jay-Z to the scenario then you’re even more likely to be rendered star struck and speechless. 

To be honest, we get a little bit uncomfortable just imagining the awkward moment that would undoubtedly unfold because no one is that cool. If you are then kudos to you but we reckon most of us would panic.

Which is exactly what happened to UFC champ Holly Holm. You would think the person that defeated the previous champ (and internet favourit) Ronda Rousey would keep it together.

Alas no one is safe from suffering mortification when confronted with the magical being that is Beyoncé. 

“I meet Jay Z and he says, ‘This is my wife,’ and I’m like, ‘Oh, hi, what’s your name?’ Because that’s what I do when I meet someone’s wife,” Holly explained to KRQE in Albuquerque.

“And as I’m shaking her hand, I’m thinking, ‘Why did I just say that? Why did I just say that to Beyoncé?’”

Holly was a VIP viewing party for a boxing match when she and her husband got the chance to rub shoulders with the mega-stars. 

“I can’t even focus on what he’s saying because I just put my foot in my mouth,” she explained. 

“I literally have to interrupt him. I’m like, ‘I’m really sorry,’ and I go back to Beyoncé and I’m like, ‘I can’t believe I just did that.’ She goes, ‘Oh no, it’s fine.’ I’m like, ‘No, I really, really…it’s such an honour to meet you.’”

Awks. It happens to the best of us Holly, don’t even worry about it gal.

That awkward moment when you forget to plug your headphones in is not fun for anyone.

It can be even worse when you’re in class.

Which was exactly what one University of Sydney student learned when his classmates caught him watching something very NSFW in a lecture.

While their professor was busy working his way through some PowerPoint slides, some very erotic sounds start filling the crowded lecture hall.

The student seemed to be completely unaware that the rest of the room could hear the audio accompanying the pornographic video he was watching.

However, when he does realise he’s been caught out it gets worse before it gets better.

After making several frantic attempts to turn the laptop off, which fail miserably, the student who has remained nameless, quickly grabs his stuff and bolts out the door. His classmates very nearly give him a standing ovation.

Smooth.

Apparently though, the whole ordeal was a stunt designed to fool his fellow students. We weren’t so convinced either.

But it turns out that the clip is from a collection put together by Aussie student Jamie Zhu as part of his ‘Awkward Uni Situations’ video.

You know those moments where you think someone super cool is waving at you so you wave back, but they were actually waving at the hot girl behind you? Or when you go in for a dramatic high-five and someone leaves you hanging? Well, Giuliana Rancic knows the kind of moments we're talking about after her awkward red carpet moment with Kendall Jenner.

The red carpet, not exactly a subtle location either…

The pair were chatting at the Billboard Music Awards and everything seemed to be going fine, until they parted ways. The model and E! presenter decided to kiss each other on the cheek to say goodbye as Kendall left, but it didn't all go to plan.

After one kiss on the cheek, Kendall started to walk away but poor Giuliana awkwardly leaned in for another.

Awks…

The presenter was left hanging and stuck with that dilemma where you have to play it cool and hope no one saw.

We hate to break it to you girl, but we saw…

We've all been there though, so maybe we should stop talking about it before karma comes for us. 

One last thing though, we do hope Kendall didn't mean to do that to the poor woman…
