backstreet boys

Huge congratulations are in order for Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter and his wife Lauren Kitt who have welcomed their second child together.

The doting dad took to Twitter to confirm their joyous news.

He revealed that Lauren gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on October 2.

“10-2-19 my wife and I received the most beautiful gift a Father and Mother could ever ask for,” he wrote.

“We are overjoyed to announce that we welcomed into our family and this world a healthy beautiful baby girl. She came back to us. God is real!!” the dad added.

The dad even added the #rainbowbaby to honour the baby they lost last year. A rainbow baby is a baby born shortly after the loss of a previous baby due to miscarriage, stillbirth or death in infancy.

The term symbolises the rainbow that often comes after a storm.

Nick and Lauren experienced the most harrowing loss in September 2018. Lauren suffered a tragic miscarriage when she was three months pregnant. The mum was expecting a baby girl.

The I Want It That Way singer stated at the time, “God give us peace during this time. I really was looking forward to meeting her after 3 months.”

The dad added: “I'm heartbroken. It was a little sister for Odin.”

The 90s stars are releasing a new album called DNA on January 25 and wish to promote their new sound across the world.

But don’t worry, we’re sure they will bless our ears with their biggest hits -the theme songs to our childhood and teenage angst days.

The boys also released their new single “Chances” today. The Ryan Tedder and Shawn Mendes penned track puts a modern twist on their usual harmonies.

It is part of their tenth album and a small preview of what we can expect from their new music.

“This era we are exploring each element of our career – spanning 25 years – that have been the building blocks of what we call the Backstreet Boys today!” the band said.

“Thank you all for coming on this journey. Things are about to get interesting!”

Tickets for the Dublin show go on sale Friday November 16 at 10am, and you can buy them on their website.

We can’t wait for our favourite boyband to come to the Irish stage and relive some of our best girlhood memories.

First off, no this article isn't from 1996 – The Backstreet Boys were set to play a gig last night.

Unforch, severe weather conditions caused a structure to collapse, injuring fourteen concert-goers.

Luckily, the fans were treated by emergency personnel and then taken to local hospitals.

According to Billboard, group member Kevin Richardson revealed in a tweet what had happened as that the band were set to perform at the outdoor pavilion at WinStar World Casino and Resort in Thackerville.

"Hey folks! Severe weather, high winds and rain just passed thru here in Thackerville, OK. Emergency crews are on the scene as tent collapsed and some folks who were seeking shelter were injured. Waiting to determine damage to our stage and production," he wrote.

Fellow band member Nick Carter also tweeted, ''waiting and praying for our fans that were injured. If we can perform we're ready to go. But safety is first."

According to KOCO-TV, the incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. local time and people were evacuated due to an oncoming storm.

However, the fan injuries occurred when "something happened inside" the pavilion.

WinStar said in a statement released to ET that, ''all patrons in the area were asked to move and to seek shelter from the storm. However, about 150 patrons who were standing in line for the Backstreet Boys concert did not heed staff's warning … the storm hit and knocked over the concert entrance trusses with 70-80 mile an hour winds and heavy rain. 14 people were treated at the scene and then transported to local hospitals. Two have already been released."

Dallas reporter Allison Harris of Dallas shared a video tweeted to her from someone at the concert from "right after it fell. Several people hurt including a young girl. Several fans spring to action including former army nurse who’s husband was hurt."

She also tweeted, "friend at the Backstreet Boys concert at Winstar Casino says an awning fell on people. She estimates 10 ambulances responded, paramedics took people out on stretchers."

Kevin later confirmed that the show would not be going ahead but he promised, ''keep your tickets because, Backstreet WILL BE BACK!''

Backstreet will be back, alright?

So a few weeks back, we decided to set up a SHEmazing Spotify account – because we just love good tunes.

We created a playlist that was made of up of songs by some of our favourite females, from TLC to Dua Lipa.

We had so much fun making the playlist, and sharing it with you – so we've decided to make a new playlist!

We did a poll on Facebook, asking you gorgeous humans if you'd prefer a gym playlist or a boy band one.

In a not-so-shocking twist, the boy bands won out, and so we got to work!

We'd like to introduce you to 'Boyband Lovin', the perfect compilation of all your favourite fellas.

We included some of the most iconic 90s hits from The Backstreet Boys and NSync, as well as some tunes from the likes of Blue and Westlife.

We'll be doing a few polls in the coming weeks to ask you all what we should add to the boy band playlist.

Enjoy, ladies!

When it comes to boy bands, there were few greater than the Backstreet Boys,

Before the introduction of stools which became an on-stage staple for most boy bands in the late 90s and early noughties, these five lads knew how to throw some serious shapes.

Transfixed by their chart stompers and movie-length music videos, Nick, Brian and the rest of the crew had us eating of of the palm of their hands, and it looks like we weren't the only ones.

In last night's episode of The Late Late Show, James Corden admitted he longed for the days of boy bands past, and proved as much by performing alongside one of our favourites of all time.

Ladies, it's time to down your tools because this one deserves your undivided attention.

Twitter is awash with tributes today following the news that music mogul, Lou Pearlman, has passed away.

Lou, who died while serving time at the Federal Correctional Institution of Texarkana, Texas, is responsible for some of the biggest music acts of the 90s and noughties, and has this week been remembered for his contribution to the world of pop music.

From Backstreet Boys and NSYNC to O-Town and Britney Spears, some of the biggest names in the music industry have Lou to thank for their ascension to super stardom, with many taking to Twitter to pay tribute to the New Yorker.

"I hope he found some peace," wrote Justin Timberlake yesterday. "God bless and RIP, Lou Pearlman."

Referring to Lou's conviction and subsequent imprisonment for multi-million dollar fraud, Lance Bass wrote: "Word is that #LouPearlman has passed away."

"He might not have been a stand up businessman, but I wouldn't be doing what I love today w/out his influence," he finished.

Acknowledging the profound effect Lou had had on his life, Backstreet Boy's AJ wrote: "Many emotions at the news of Lou's passing."

"Without Lou I wouldn't have met my four brothers or had the opportunity of a lifetime. RIP,"  he added.

The cause of Lou's death has not yet been revealed to the public.

Look, maybe we're biased, but no one can do justice to a Backstreet Boys track unless they're an actual Backstreet Boy, so our hopes weren't exactly high when we heard Lance Bass and Joey Fatone had recently taken to the stage to perform I Want It That Way during a karaoke session.

And we were right to be nervous.

Murdering the track which managed to make airport runways alluring and white pants sexy, the two *NSYNC lads looked and sounded like two of our less popular uncles at a family wedding.

Unsurprisingly, YouTubers wasted no time slamming the hairy performance, with one writing: "Probably the two worst singers in NSYNC. Bad, just bad."

Flagging an issue which we're sure NSYNC management hoped would never get too much air-time, another YouTuber wrote: "This was the only time anyone ever heard the two of them sing!"

There may have been a reason for that…

If you (like us) were major fans of 90s boybands, then your teen dreamz are about to come true.

Boybands from the best decade ever are coming together to make a ZOMBIE movie.

Yep, you read that right. Members of The Backstreet Boys, NSYNC*, O-Town and 98 degrees have all signed on for the flick. Just think The Walking Dead mixed with heart throbs wearing matching outfits.

The movie is called Dead 7 and it's a Syfy made-for-TV flick. It will star Nick Carter, A.J. McLean, and Howie Dorough of the Backstreet Boys, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick of NSYNC*, and Jeff Timmons of 98 Degrees and O-Town.

But wait a minute, we've copped on to something. The movie is set to debut on Syfy on April 1st. Is this just a massive April Fools Day prank?

We hope not, but sure only time will tell. It looks deadly, though.

If you never thought you would see your favourite 90s boyband members reunite to battle zombies in a post-apocalyptic Wild West, then today is your lucky day friends.

Yep, our favourite movers and shakers from our teenage years have regrouped to bring us a zombie Western in the form of Dead 7 and you'll be able to revel in its madness as soon as April.

Nick Carter, the brainchild behind the project, conceived the idea for a film which found backing from the Asylum, a US movie production company best known for it's gas Sharknado films.

Not only do we get Nick Carter as the gun-slinging hero of the film, but a whole host of your 90s pin-up heartthrobs are also getting in on the action.

A.J and Howie from Backstreet Boys are involved as well as Chris and Joey from NSYNC (but no Justin Timberlake? Devo).

Also joining the boyband ranks are Dan, Jacob, Trevor and Erik-Michael from O-Town as well as Jeff Timmons from 98 Degrees.

Airing on Syfy channel on April 1, get ready for a nostalgic night in.

We know January is a crappy month for everyone, but former Backstreet Boy, Nick Carter is making this month hell for himself.

The singer was arrested earlier this month at an infamous Florida bar called the Hog's Breath Saloon.

According to TMZ, Nick "was originally escorted out of the Hog's Breath Saloon for unruly and disrespectful behaviour."

Mr Carter then became aggressive, "striking and choking" the bouncer after he was thrown out.

And now the bouncer, Skylar Carden, has filed a lawsuit against Nick, where he is stating the singer physically assaulted him.

This comes less than a week after the 35-year-old publicly apologised on Twitter.

Last Saturday, he posted a tweet saying: "I am human and at times it can be a struggle to balance a healthy lifestyle. I'm not perfect and for that I am sorry."

He then went on to share another tweet: "When we fall we have to get up and keep on walking. I hope you stay by my side and continue to walk with me."
