They were the rock 'n' roll kings that hailed from Count Cavan, so the news today that The Strypes have spilt is pretty heart-wrenching.

The foursome, formed in 2010, was made up of lead vocalist Ross Lynch, lead guitar Josh McCluskey, bassist Pete O'Hanlin and drummer Evan Walshe.

Their rhythm and blues, 1960's-inspired music certainly made a huge impact on the music scene and the announcement has left their legions of fans worldwide in shock.

The band took to Instagram to post about their separation.

They clearly had a blast over the last eight years, writing, ''we have played in toilets and theatres, in cafes and castles, from Scothouse to Tokyo and back again.''

However they also touched on how hard some of it has been, and that there has been highs as well as lows.

They continued, ''It's been fun and exciting, dull and dangerous, easy, tough, frustrating, satisfying and amazing. It's been a life and a living.''

The outpouring of sadness on social media is a testament to how much they were loved.

One wrote, ''Been there since the beginning! Always loved your music and it has been amazing to hear you grow. I wish I would've been able to catch you live, but I sadly didn't! Best of luck.''

Another said, ''Thank you for all your amazing performances. I have managed to see you and sing along many times. You guys are amazing and so talented. Good luck!''

While another wrote, ''It was an honour to see you guys live when I had the chance. Best of luck to you all in the future.''

In the copy-and-paste landscape of today's music world, The Strypes stood out with their raw talent and energy.

Best of luck with the next chapter – now excuse us while we listen to them on repeat all day…

All Tvvins are one of Ireland's biggest new bands, making a steady rise since 2016 with the release of their debut album llVV, which debuted at number two on the Irish charts.

They are now returning to the stage to anticipate the unveiling of their second album Just to Exist, giving us a taste with their newest single Hell of a Party.

The track was chosen as 2FM's Tune of the Day, supported by John Kennedy at Radio X and added to some of Spotify and Deezer's most popular playlists. No biggie…

Judging by how UNREAL their most recent tune is, the album is going to blow everyone away. Keep a sharp eye out for these boys, the duo are definitely going places.

The duo are stepping up a gear, announcing support from talented Dublin singer-songwriter Sorcha Richardson for their major headline gig at the National Stadium Dublin.

The band plan on evolving their fresh and fluid style of creativity, pushing the boundaries of their sound whenever they can.

The band, comprising of Conor Adams and Lar Kaye, are signed with Warner Music, and have also decided to gift us with another forthcoming album track ‘Warm Crush’ as well as a skeletal acoustin version of Infinite Swim.

These lads just keep on giving.

Infinite Swim was produced by All Tvvins' friend and collaborator, the amazing James Vincent McMorrow, so it's sure to be a banger...

The album process was kick-started by McMorrow, who contacted the boys about working on a new track together. 'Twould be hard to say no.

It’s a heady cocktail of taut, muscular funk which maintains the typically anthemic All Tvvins sound, adding a Prince-style solo.

“There’s a definite salute to Talking Heads as well,” says Lar Kaye. “It just felt right.”

Adams describes their next album as “a snapshot of where we were, what we were going through and where we hope to go next.”

Tickets are priced at €25, which is inclusive of booking free, and will be on sale from the 5th of July at 10am from Ticketmaster.ie.

The announcement follows the release of their new single, Plastic Oceans

Plastic Oceans was recorded in London with producer Chris Coady (Future Islands, Slowdive) and has a firm backbone of the kind of melodic indie rock that has seen the band build a strong following in their native Ireland, clocking up various #1 records.

The band will continue their heavy touring schedule this summer, putting in appearances in coastal areas.

They will be using their latest single to spread the important environmental message that our beaches, coastlines, rivers, cities and towns need to be kept litter and plastic free if we're to stop the oceans from becoming even more polluted by plastic waste.

It's the band's first arena tour in a decade – so understandably passes for U2's Innocence + Experience are the hottest concert tickets to get your hands on this year.

And while it was rumoured that they would very much be returning to their native city as part of their travels, The Edge has now disappointed fans.

But far from wanting to avoid Dublin, the guitarist has now confirmed that a simple shortage of decant venues means their hands are tied.

"This show is designed for a type of venue and unfortunately there isn't one," he explained.

However, he did hint Northern Ireland's capital might have more luck.

"I think there might be one in the Belfast area so we're looking at that," he also said in conversation with the Press Association.

"But you can't invent a venue. It's either there or it isn't.

"So we're doing a lot of head scratching to see if we can figure out something."

U2 kicked off its Innocence + Experience tour in Canada in May and according to Billboard, its North American leg alone has grossed €68.3m from the 36 sold-out shows.

At the weekend, the boys finally brought their spectacle to Europe, playing Turin in Italy.

Innocence + Experience, the band's first arena tour since Vertigo took place in 2005/6, has a more intimate feel to U2's 360° staging, a massive stadium tour which was seen by millions around the world from 2009 until 2011.

Irish folk are famed for a great many great things – although whether dancing is one of them is somewhat questionable.

A wedding, on a night out, or attending a festival; the moves on offer on homesoil are less Rio Carnival, and more Roscrea carousal.

Not that we mind – because unchoreographed craic is part of what makes the country great.

However, just every so often, it’s nice to turn our hands to something a little different – namely a spot of Brazilian-inspired samba.

Last month, talented Irish-Brazilian bossa band Nova Collective hit Dun Laoghaire pier to record a video for their new single, Samba De Amor. And with the help of director Tom Speers they managed to rope in some unsuspecting locals too.

"Our concept with this one was very simple: can Irish people dance like a Brazilian?" the band said afterwards.

Well, suffice to say we're totally in love with the results.

For those not yet in the know, Nova Collective is led by outstanding pianist Louis Ryan, and boasts a lineup of exceptional jazz, traditional Irish, classical and Latin musicians.

Their live shows often involve more than music (spectators are always in for a treat) and they're poised to play the Sugar Club on Sunday, August 16.

You can check out ensemble.ie/novacollective and their Facebook page for more details

Ooh, this guy could annoy some hardcore Mumford and Sons fans – but we think this is pretty hilarious!

Dione Beary uploaded this video of himself to YouTube which sees him playing what he feels is every Mumford and Sons song ever.

Does it sound like this one?

Or…this one?

Hmm, maybe he's onto something!

We still do love us some Mumford though!

Jade Thirlwall, member of Little Mix, has claimed that she has “weird” eating habits.

The singer spoke about how it takes her a long time to eat a meal and this may be to thank for her slender figure.

Jade said: “I literally take a year to eat a meal because I eat such tiny portions … I guess I do get fuller quicker because I eat slower. I’m just a very weird eater, I think.”

The Little Mix singer also spoke of her admiration for her bandmate, Jesy’s, figure: “Jesy has the most amazing body – I’d do anything to have that figure.”

N’Sync member, Joey Fatone, has some choice words for The Backstreet Boys!

The former member of N’Sync was speaking to Huffington Post when he spoke about The Backstreet Boys recent reunion saying: “I feel like they just need the money … No offense guys.”

But will N’Sync be reuniting like their ’90s counterparts?

No. The singer said: “Absolutely, 100% no … at this time.”

So, does that mean maybe then?

Somehow we doubt the lads from N’Sync will be invited on tour with The Backstreet Boys now!

Nice one, Joey.
