The end is in sight for the Peaky Blinders as series creator Steven Knight has confirmed the crime drama will finsh after its seventh season.

However, it's not all bad news. Speaking after the BAFTAs on Sunday evening, Steven told Digital Spy how he is considering the possibiltiy of making a follow-movie movie.

The show's boss told the publication: "My ambition is to make it a story of a family between two wars, so always I've wanted to end it with the first air raid siren in Birmingham in 1939.

"It'll take three more series [to reach that point]."

It's thought that the film would be released after the final season has aired, though Steven is not opposed to the idea of having it come out between two of the remaining series.

"We're getting approached to do all kinds of things – the ballet, the musical… and the movie would be great.

"I wouldn't want to do it at the very end, but maybe in between two of the series."

Peaky Blinders took home the award for Best Drama at the BAFTA ceremony in London last night, beating out Netflix's The Crown and Line of Duty

Accepting the award,  Steven gave a nod to the show's stars Cillian Murphy and Helen McCrory, saying: "I wish the people who created such iconic TV, soon maybe they will be here as well because they deserve to be."

The fifth season will air on BBC Two in 2019 and is set to be released on Netflix.

The BBC have made the decision to cut Ed Westwick from their Agatha Christie drama, Ordeal by Innocence, following allegations of rape which were levelled against the British actor late last year.

It has been established that Westwick's scenes in the show will be re-shot, with Christian Cooke replacing the former Gossip Girl actor.

Thank you @VanityFair for the piece on #OrdealByInnocence

A post shared by Ed Westwick (@edwestwick) on

In November 2017, the 30-year-old actor was accused of rape by three women in three separate incidents in 2014 – allegations which Westwick has categorically denied.

Considering the gravity of the allegations, the BBC chose to postpone the programme's intended slot over the Christmas period, and have yet to announce the new transmission date.

"These are serious allegations which Ed Westwick has strenuously denied. The BBC is not making any judgement but until these matters are resolved, we will not include Ordeal by Innocence in the schedules."

While the initial statement made no mention of cutting Westwick from the programme, the role of Mickey Argyll will now be played by Yorkshire-born Christian.

A newly commissioned BBC project promises to provide viewers with the “definitive” account of the Harvey Weinstein scandal.

The feature length documentary will look at the disgraced producer's journey to the top of the entertainment industry and his subsequent fall from glory following a series of sexual assault allegations.

According to Variety, the 90-minute documentary will feature interviews from some of the actresses who have accused the producer of sexual misconduct as well, journalists, directors, actors and lawyers.

It's understood that some of the interviewees will be speaking publicly for the first time.

The Oscar-winning Simon Chinn is lined up to produce the doc, and although it will be shown on the BBC, it is hoped that the feature will also have a theatrical release, allowing it to qualify for both Academy Award and BAFTA nominations.

Speaking to Variety, Simon explained what drew him to the story: “As a little bit of an [industry] insider, I was fascinated with the story as it unfolded and not a little shocked.”

“As much as people knew a lot about Harvey and his reputation, there was plenty that we didn’t know.”

BBC's Tom McDonald says viewers can expect a film that will “ask difficult and challenging questions about complicity, the price of silence and the corrosive effects of power.”

“As well as revealing the inside story of the past few months in minute detail, it will also look to the past to tell the story of abuses of power within Hollywood since its very origins and chart the rise of Harvey Weinstein himself over many decades.”

According to report, Weinstein will take most of 2018 to produce, making a 2019 release likely.

British comedian Jo Brand has received huge praise after she was forced to explain the seriousness of sexual harassment to an all-male panel on the hit BBC show Have I Got News For You.

This week's show featured team captains, Ian Hislop and Paul Merton, with guest panellists comedian Miles Jupp and columnist Quentin Letts.

While discussing a headline reporting that an MP had taken his personal trainer to the cinema, Ian said:  "Some of this is not high level crime is it, compared to say Putin or Trump?"

As host of the show, Jo felt it was her duty to explain why the panellists should be taking sexual harassment seriously.

“Can I just say as the only representative of the female gender here today, I know it's not high level, but it doesn't have to be high level for women to feel under siege in somewhere like the House of Commons,” she said.

Adding how being constantly harassed "even in a small way … builds up and wears you down."

The 60-year-old received huge cheers from the audience and viewers took to Twitter to shower her with praise.

Last week, King Salman issued a decree that women would finally be able to drive in Saudi Arabia – but not everyone is happy about the.

In celebration of the announcement, one man took to Twitter to share a joyful selfie of him teaching his wife how to drive in an empty car park.

The Tweet translates to: “I started teaching my wife ow to drive in one of the private parking spaces in a safe and legal way, preparing for the law to take effect.”

However, what should have been a happy memory for the couple has been spoiled by the mixed reaction the photo received.

One Twitter user by the name of Bderr1992 wrote: “Don't you feel embarrassed or protective of her when posting her picture? Shame on you.”

Speaking to the BBC, Faisal explained how he and his wife had been “waiting patiently” for the controversial driving ban to be lifted, and was hoping that his photo might encourage other men to teach their female relatives how to drive.

Many women had a positive response to the photo with one user commenting: "Tomorrow, my son Azzam will teach me how to drive."

The new law will come into effect from June 2018, though in the meantime, Fasial has said he want to inspire female drivers to train in a legal and safe way.

The Irish edition of The Sunday Times has been accused of antisemitism after it published an article suggesting that BBC presenters, Claudia Winkleman and Vanessa Feltz are well paid because they are Jewish.

The piece, written by Kevin Myers, was removed from the online version of the newspaper after it provoked huge backlash from upset readers.

However, the article still remains in the printed verison of the the newspaper across Ireland today.

The article on the row over the gender pay gap in the BBC, titled “Sorry ladies, equal pay has to be earned,” read:

“I note that two of the best-paid women presenters in the BBC – Claudia Winkleman and Vanessa Feltz, with whose, no doubt, sterling work I am tragically unacquainted – are Jewish. Good for them.

“Jews are not generally noted for their insistence on selling their talent for the lowest possible price, which is the most useful measure there is of inveterate, lost-with-all-hands stupidity. I wonder, who are their agents? If they’re the same ones that negotiated the pay for the women on the lower scales, then maybe the latter have found their true value in the marketplace.”

The outspoken columnist has also been accused of sexism after he argued that men work harder, get sick less frequently and do not get pregnant.

Frank Fitzgibbon, editor of The Sunday Times Ireland, said:

"As the editor of the Ireland edition, I take full responsibility for this error of judgement.

"This newspaper abhors anti-Semitism and did not intend to cause offence to Jewish people."

The Campaign Against Anti Semitism asked for confirmation that Kevin Myers will never again work for a News UK title, and that the apology will appear in the print edition.
