Using hair spray can be an absolute minefield, and as any hair spray addict knows, it's all about finding the perfect balance.

Too much and you're suddenly rocking a helmet, too little and you may as well not have bothered.

If this sounds familiar, then you're going to be all OVER this neat and nifty trick which Karlie Kloss uses on the regular, and which her hair stylist nailed while getting the uber-gorgeous Karls ready for this year's Met Gala.

Instead of spraying aimlessly all around your head in order to settle an up-do, simply grab a blusher brush, spray the brush in your chosen product and 'lock' that style down with some firm and steady strokes.

Hey, if it's good enough for Karlie, it's good enough for us.

OK we admit it, it sounds like something you might read on April the 1st, but all signs point to this bizarre story being legit.

According to reports, KFC fans can relive that famous finger-licking good moment as often as they want following the launch of the fast food chain's new nail polish range. Yes, you heard us.

Created by advertising firm Ogilvy & Mather and food technicians at McCormick – the good folk behind KFC’s spice and herb mix – this range of nail polish comes in two classic flavours, original and hot and spicy.

Speaking out amid the launch, KFC released a statement, advising: "To use, consumers simply apply and dry like regular nail polish, and then lick – again and again and again”,

Launched as part of a campaign in Hong Kong, the polishes, which come in orange and nude shades, were available to the public for two weeks in order to establish the most popular flavour to push for mass production.

"The recipe for our edible nail polish is unique and was specifically designed to hold the flavour, but to also dry with a glossy coat similar to normal nail polish," explained John Koay, creative director at Ogilvy & Mather.

Seriously, you still with us?

We'll be honest here, we're still struggling to perfect our contouring game, so the idea of having to master it anywhere but your face, let alone your FEET, really isn't doing it for us.

Oh, that's right, ladies. Women all over the world are seemingly getting up close and personal with their tootsies these days, and we are just NOT buying it.

It's hard enough to keep on top of your toenail game on a regular basis without having to add the whole shadowing and highlighting shebang to the rest of your foot, right?

Although if you are looking for a pretty unique excuse the next time you're late for work, the old 'shadow on my big toe wasn't working for me' should definitely swing it.

Ladies, we're out.

If you're in the market for a new hairdryer and have a few hundred euro to spare, then you may be one of the first people to get your hands on Dyson's latest creation.

That's right; the lads behind the slicker-than-slick vacuum cleaner have turned their attention to the beauty industry, and are only dying to make our lives that much easier with their innovative new design.

Explaining their foray into the whole new world of haircare, the company's founder, James Dyson, said: "Hair dryers can be heavy, inefficient and make a racket. By looking at them further we realised that they can also cause extreme heat damage to hair."

"I challenged Dyson engineers to really understand the science of hair and develop our version of a hair dryer, which we think solves these problems," he added.

According to The Independent, the engineers have, after four years development, come up with a lightweight design which guarantees more control, less noise and also prevents common problems like overheating.

The Supersonic is set to hit the market in the UK this June and will set you back a cool £299.

And now ladies, spill!

Ah, summer – us Irish women love and fear it in equal measure.

Given the fact we spend most of the year huddled under umbrellas and bundled beneath winter coats, it’s no surprise that we literally don’t know what to DO when the sun actually makes an appearance.

Revealing parts of our body that haven’t seen the light of day in close to nine months isn’t for the fainthearted, and if you’ve been skimping on your skincare routine during that time, you’ll know the horror of going bare-armed and bare-legged for the first time.

Give yourself a head-start this year by getting on top of things pronto.

1. Water

By flushing out toxins and ensuring a clearer complexion, water is your only man if you really want to keep your skin in tip-top shape this summer.

Like your phone, wallet and keys, a bottle of water should be a handbag staple, and you should aim to get through at least a litre a day.

Healthy skin often starts from the inside so get chuggin’.

2. Sun protection

Even if it doesn’t feel like you’re being treated to an especially warm day, the sun is still up there doing its thing and you need to know how to deal with this.

P20 sunscreen protects against both UVA and UVB rays, and retains its effectiveness for up to 10 hours meaning that your daily dash around town won’t wreak havoc on your skin.

Liberally apply P20 on your skin as part of your daily beauty regime and help prevent against skin damage, premature aging and the horror of unexpected sunburn.

3. Exfoliation

As we all know, applying moisturiser to old skin is fairly pointless, so you need to make sure that you’re getting rid of dead skin cells on a regular basis.

Get to work with a body brush before every shower and then gently work over problem areas with a pair of exfoliating gloves while in the water.

There’s nothing worse than applying tan to old bumpy skin, so don’t put yourself through it!

4. Sleep, sleep, sleep!

Like water, sleep is a free and easy way to keep your skin in picture-perfect condition, so don’t deny yourself those precious z’s!

With the evenings getting longer, it can be super-hard to stick to your nightly routine, but aim for at least eight hours an night and you’ll be on the right track!

No amount of tan and make up can truly hide dull and tired skin after a restless night’s kip.

5. Don’t over-do the fake tan

It’s tempting to go to TOWN on yourself when applying false tan in honour of the sun’s highly-anticipated appearance, but there’s no need to overdo it.

If you’ve been keeping your skin protected on the daily with P20, and checking the sleep, water and exfoliation boxes on the regular, then a light layer of false tan will be all you need.

Think sun-kissed, not leather handbag.

We all know make-up and tan is a multi-million business in Ireland – but we never truly realised how much we depend on it.

Skin care brand IMEDEEN surveyed women from all over the country and found some astonishing statistics on Irish beauty.

70% of Irish women wish they had better skin, yet 75% admitted they only spend a half hour or less on a skin care routine each day.

However, 94% think that other women look better without make-up, which we have to admit we understand.

How many times have you seen your BFF fresh-faced and thought she looked fab without a scrap of war paint on? Many times? Us too.

Yet, 40% of women feel more confident when wearing a full face of make-up everyday.

63% believe that the media are to blame for the pressure of women having look good all the damn time, but do we?

We won't lie, going without the usual cover-up can be hard, especially if you have issues with your skin, but knowing that we're all in the same boat gives us a little bit more confidence to reveal our real selves more often.

Now, put down that concealer!

Kendall Jenner is used to being primped and preened to within an inch of her life, not just for public appearances or KUWTK filming, but also for her catwalk work with brands like Marc Jacobs, Chanel and Givenchy.

But the 20-year-old says there's one thing that she hates being asked to do, and that's mess with her eyebrows.

"I've been asked to alter my appearance in so many ways, it's not even funny," she wrote on her website last night.

"I think the worst is when designers want to mess with my eyebrows, though.

"It always freaks me out because every time they do it, I lose them. They literally fall OUT!"

Ouch. In the last year alone, Kendall's had to bleach her brows for three catwalk shows – twice for Marc Jacobs and once for Givenchy. So it's no surprise that she's seeing negative consequences.

"It's bad – I really hate getting a bleach," she admits.

Luckily for Kendall, she had a troupe of make-up artists on hand to restore her famous brows to their original colour and texture after each show – we're not sure ours would look quick so luscious as this if we were applying peroxide to them every few months:

Perks of the job, eh?

Finally a makeup trend that perfectly describes how our lipstick tends to looks after several G&T's on a night out.

Yep, imperfect lipstick has been making waves in the beauty world at this season's runway shows and thankfully, the look is both wearable and easy to achieve.

As usual, the fashion world is rebelling against the current beauty trends seen the world over and propagated by mega-celebs such as the Kardashians.

The style incorporates smudging lipstick from the inside of the lips outwards, very much removed from intense lip-liners and shades that are popular right now.

So if you have had enough of trying to achieve Kylie Jenner perfectly-sculpted smackers than this could definitely be the look for you.

Smashbox Cosmetics has jumped on the trend and shared a super easy tutorial detailing how achieve the effortless style.

Simply apply concealer to the outline of the lips before adding a colour to the inside edges and smudging the lipstick outwards.

You can intensify the look by using more drastic colours, or keep things natural for daytime by using soft pink hues.

We're yet to see this style hitting the red carpet, but we hope some celebrities break the mould and try out this look for a contemporary beauty style that we can all actually achieve.

While all of the Pretty Little Liars have covetable hair, we have always had a particular soft spot for Ashley Benson's blonde, beachy waves.

For most of 2015, the 26-year-old actress has been sporting a very trendy, soft balayage allowing her darker roots to shine through.

But it seems that Ashley has chosen a more dramatic style to ring in the new year.

The pretty blonde has gone peroxide leaving any semblance of her natural colour hidden.

And well, we think it looks gorgeous!

Sharing the picture to her Instagram, Ashley simply said: "blonde"

The style definitely adds more edge to Ashley's look with her statement, dark eyebrows piercing through.

We already reported that peroxide blonde is certainly on trend for the A/W season, but it is a very high maintenance look.

We REALLY hope she sticks to it.
