We think freckles are absolutely gorgeous, but we don't know how we feel about drawing on multi-coloured freckles on our faces.

In a beauty look probably not safe at all for work but perhaps ideal for a summer holiday or festival, if done right we think this trend is super cute and quirky.

As seen in a unique beauty tutorial by Dominique from Batalash Beauty, the look is created by using an array of brightly coloured liquid lipsticks.

She then uses skinny precession brushes to scatter the pretty patterns across her face.

We think the finished result is very cute with the coloured specks matching the natural scatter of freckles on the face.

And it seems that people are giving it a whirl with amazing results:

Would you try it?

Tracy Kiss is a beauty blogger who suffers from a skin condition. Unlike other people who live with rosacea, she has a very unusual method of treating her skin whenever it flares up.

She gives herself semen facials.

Tracey has shared her interesting technique on her YouTube channel where she posted a tutorial that explains her out of the ordinary technique.

She first describes her condition, which causes her face to look and feel warm and sensitive.

She then explains the process of the semen facial.

She gets her semen from a male friend who deposits the goodies into a Chinese takeout sauce tub and delivers it to her door. So you know, nothing out of the ordinary there.

Apparently, what he eats and drinks has a big effect on the consistency, texture, and (most importantly) the amount she receives. In order to ensure he’s deposits are up to standard, Tracey monitors his diet to make sure he doesn't drink or smoke or take drugs beforehand.

Well, alright then.

Tracey does point out that she is in no way involved in the actual “harvesting” process. Which we aren’t sure how we feel about, but we do think ‘harvesting’ is a very intriguing verb to use in this context.

The reasoning behind the semen treatment is described as follows:

"I think a lot of people are concerned with the thought of putting semen on their face, but actually it's a very natural and healthy thing to do. I know exactly what goes into this. I know there are no added chemicals, no harshness.”

A former Cosmopolitan editor-in-chief, Helen Gurley Brown, also recommended spreading semen on the face because it's "probably full of protein as sperm can eventually become babies."

Tracey adds: "Semen builds babies, they come out very soft and have beautiful skin, and it leaves my skin nice and soft."

Dermatologist Doris Day, MD, told Cosmopolitan that while there are some benefits to the unorthodox method. She notes it is “designed to support the essence of life.”

However, she herself would not be fully convinced. She is also wary of STIs.

When one beauty blogger found black dots on a blender sponge, she decided to investigate further.

Little did Stevie Miller know then what she was about to unearth: a half a dozen beetle-like creatures that had seemingly buried their way into the item.

With her mother looking on via Sky, she documented the examination on camera. The resulting clip was then posted to her Facebook page and has now been viewed 1.5million times.

The 20-year-old, who hails from Suffolk, uses a tweezers and scissors to dissect the beauty blender – a pink sponge applicator which she had recently ordered from the US.

"I realised there was a slight hole in it, which confused me endlessly as I'd only just got it," she explains to the camera.

"I did a little digging, and found two, very obscure strange bugs living inside my beauty blender.

"They'd been there the entire time, and they were strange-looking."

Holding one of the larger creatures to the camera, Stevie declares that she will be "sending the video to the maker of beauty blenders and say you need to make them bug-proof".

Ms Miller concludes with: "I'm probably going to get some skin disease now and will never be able to leave my flat again.

"I need a shower, I need bleach, I need Jesus."

Never buy a beauty blender from another country.

There’s nothing worse than waking up the morning of a big day and checking your reflection to blown away by a particularly nasty red spot. We’re not exactly fans any other days of the week but it always seems to be the week of a wedding, or the day before a big first date when those pesky monsters rear their ugly heads.

It’s enough to make us get teary-eyed with frustration when we spend far too much of our time trying to cover up any blemishes we would rather not be sporting.

Here’s the thing, you can spend all the time concealing you want, but if you’re not using the proper colours, then it’s not going to help you out much.

The same beauty blogger who brought us tricks for nailing the epic ‘baking’ makeup trend has also dropped some serious knowledge on how to best use colour concealers for actually concealing blemishes.

Not saying the clown contouring trend isn’t fun, but sometimes we kind of just want to get rid of that weird spot on our chin.

First you need to get some orange and green concealers. Then you need to check out this handy colour wheel graphic.

Complementary colours, those that are on opposite sides of the wheel, cancel each other out when applied to the skin. So, if you have a red mark on your skin, you use green to help bring down the appearance of redness, and so on.

Heidi uses his theory in her video where she teaches is the magic of colour concealers and how to use them properly.

We can’t thank her enough, now, off to stock up on our colours we go!

Rebecca Casserly from the fun and stylish blog, Bec Boop had a chat with SHEmazing! to let us in on lots of tips and tricks when it comes to beauty.

Her blog is a haven of bright and beautiful photos with a ton of great and useful style and beauty tips. On top of this, Rebecca also has a YouTube channel where you can keep updated on all things fashion and beauty with fun and lively videos.

Check out what Rebecca had to tell us when it comes to her beauty routine:

1. What's your best budget beauty buy?
When it comes to budget beauty products I think there are some really great budget concealers available. My two favourites are Rimmel Wake me up and Garnier Roll-on. I use these concealers together every single day. I use the Garner roll-on concealer first as this is a caffeine infused tinted anti-dark circles roll-on so it’s great to brighten up the under eye are first thing in the morning. I’ll then apply the Rimmel wake me up concealer in a V shape under my eye area as I find this has a nice highlighter effect and works really well on top of the Garnier roll on. As I would use these every day I’d definitely recommend them as good value budget concealers.

2. What's your top make-up tip?
My top make up tip is to put in that extra effort in prepping your skin before starting your make up application, when time permits of course. I’ve been using some Urban Decay skin preparation products lately and they’ve made such a difference in the look and lasting power of my makeup. I start with the Urban Decay Vitamin-Infused Complexion prep spray which is used in advance of applying your moisturiser. This contains Vitamin B6 which helps absorb oil and reduce the appearance of pores. I find it really refreshing when applied to my skin on a daily basis. After using my daily moisturiser I’ll then ensure to use a good primer as a base for my makeup. Lately I’ve been using the Urban Decay Brightening and Tightening complexion primer potion. Again it’s light enough to be used on a daily basis and smooths any fine lines on your skin aswell as brightening dull skin. There was a time when I wasn’t using any prep products in my makeup routine but I promise the difference is quite noticeable when you start to incorporate them into your daily routine.

3. Do you have a favourite all-round beauty product?
Yes, anyone who has been following my blog or YouTube channel knows my favourite all-round beauty product is definitely the Benefit Bad Gal mascara. This is one of their older ones with They’re Real and Roller Lash being more popular lately but I’m a firm Bad Gal fan. I’ve always preferred bristle brushes as compared to plastic mascara brushes and the Bad Gal mascara has a really thick bristle brush which is great for elongating lashes and adding extra lift and volume.

4. What's your earliest beauty memory?
My earliest beauty memory is probably when I received my first makeup set from my mam. I was so excited and thrilled at the possibility of playing around with the different eyeshadow colours. I’ve always been really creative and I remember the hours of enjoyment I got out of that one makeup set. I think every girl remembers their first beauty product.

5. Most girls have a signature scent – what's yours?
My signature scent is Prada Candy, I love this scent and think it complements my personality quite well -stylish but fun!

6. What's in your make-up bag right now?

This is what you’ll find in my makeup bag:

  • Garnier Rollon Concealer
  • Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer
  • Youngblood Brow Artiste Kit
  • No. 7 Translucent Powder
  • Paese Cosmetics Liquid Eyeliner
  • Maybelline Master Precise Eyeliner pen
  • No. 7 Eyelash Curler
  • Benefit Bad Gal Mascara
  • Clinique Even Better Foundation

SHEmazing! caught up with beauty blogger Emma Sheehan from the gorgeous Mastering Your Makeup blog to get the lowdown on all things beauty-related.

From her best budget beauty buy to favorite perfume – we have all the answers right here.

1. What's your best budget beauty buy?
My current love that is a total bargain and helps me every morning for work is my Blank Canvas Cosmetics Oval Beauty Blender. This just makes getting ready for work so much easier, I dampen my beauty blender with warm water, drain all the water out and dab on my foundation. It leaves my skin looking flawless and it takes seconds.

2. What's your top make-up tip?
For me it has to be, fill in your brows. Whether you want a full brow for a night out or just a little gap filler, adding shape and colour to your brows completely frames your face. I find for me any makeup look appears much tidier with a shaped brow. I get the HD Brows every 4-8 weeks so sometimes with the regrowth adding a little colour and concealing the strays works really well for me.

3. Do you have a favourite all-round beauty product?
I think this would be a highlighter. My current fave is by The Balm, the Mary-Lou Manizer. I like it because it can be used on the cheekbones, and the cupids bow to bring light and life to the face but sometimes I’ll add it to my eyeshadow looks to really brighten my blue eyes.

4. What's your earliest beauty memory?
Early and possibly most embarrassing, I remember on my 12th birthday my mum took me to our local pharmacy and was letting me buy some makeup with my birthday money. I was straight over to the Rimmel stand and in my logic at 12 years of age, I decided having blue eyes meant I needed to match everything to blue so my first purchase was Rimmel blue eyeshadow, blue mascara and thankfully only a clear lipgloss. I still can’t believe my mum let me buy them but he assures me there was no talking to me!

5. Most girls have a signature scent – what's yours?
Oh this one is really tough, I do have a scent I’ll wear for a few years and at the moment it has to be Lancome La Vie Est Belle, I just love how fresh and pretty it smells.

6. What's in your make-up bag right now?
These are my ‘go to’ products for my daily work wear at the moment; always want a quick and easy look during the week in the office. I like to fill in my brows, make sure my cheeks have some colour and a subtle lip. A primer for me is essential to start my makeup and a powder to take away any shine I may get throughout the day.

This week, SHEmazing! were lucky enough to have a chat with the fabulous make-up artist Annette O'Brien about all things beauty.

Annette is a highly-acclaimed make-up artist in Ireland having worked with big names such as Lucy Kennedy, Miriam O'Callaghan and even James Nesbitt.

You can catch up with Annette on her website and have a look at some of her stunning work as well as on TwitterFacebook and YouTube

1. What's your best budget beauty buy?
I have so many budget beauty buys but I love Carmex moisturising lip balm. I wear it every single day and it is so long wearing. It's fantastic to wear over lipstick and gives a glossy appearance too. It is one of my go-to products for a perfect red lip – exfoliate the lips and then apply a heavy layer of Carmex all over. A definite must in my makeup kit for brides. It's available in most pharmacies and Penneys also stock it now.

2. What's your top make-up tip?
The next time you are applying your makeup start off with the eyes. As a makeup artist, this is one of the most practical things I've learned. Once your eye makeup is done you can wipe all the residue from underneath the eye and apply fresh concealer and foundation then. No messy eye makeup here!

3. Do you have a favourite all-round beauty product?
I do for sure! I absolutely love Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Down Pomade. This is the most amazing brow product I have found. So easy to use and a little goes a long way. Brows are such an important feature and they really shape the face. I love the sleek, defined shape this products gives. I use this gel-like product in every one of my makeup video tutorials and there you can see how easy it is to use.

4. What's your earliest beauty memory?
I loved Barbie dolls when I was younger, didn't we all?  I loved them because they had hair I could cut and restyle, nails that could be painted and faces that I applied makeup to! I did this to every single one of my Barbies – as you can imagine they were "a sight for sore eyes" by the time I was finished with them!

5. Most girls have a signature scent – what's yours?
I have two! For daytime I love Zara White. It's a fresh, floral smell and it reminds me of summer and holidays. For night & special occasions I always go for Carolina Herrera 212 Sexy. A gorgeous, lingering perfume of bergamot and geranium that makes me feel so girly. Every time I wear it people ask about it. I have so many good memories from the scent.

6. What's in your make-up bag right now?

  •  Makeup Forever HD Foundation
  • Creme De La Mer – The Concentrate
  • Mac Prep & Prime – Radiance (my highlighter)
  • Mac Blush – Fleur Power
  • Chanel Satin Finish Radiance Powder
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills DipDown Pomade
  • Mac Lipliner – Hip n' Happy
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills #12 brow brush
  • Chanel lipstick in Gabrielle

Thanks for answering all of our questions, Annette!

Annette was also kind enough to share her brand new make-up tutorial with us; gold glitter with smokey eye and a MAJOR flick – perfect for nights out with the girls.

This week's beauty blogger pick is the lovely Amy McLoughlin, the brains behind Red Lips Red Hair.

We love her blog's great mix of personal chat, product reviews and tutorials – and we have SERIOUS hair envy, too!

We caught up with Amy to find out her expert beauty tips and tricks and to get the lowdown on her favourite products…

1. What's your best budget beauty buy?
One thing about me is that I adore budget beauty, so I’ve agonised over the answer for this. I have to admit that I’m a huge buyer of budget brands, and a lot of the time I favour them over high-end. Right now, my top budget beauty buy would have to be my Rimmel Brow This Way Gel in the Medium Brown shade. I don’t mind going bare-faced a lot of the time, but brows are so important that I can’t leave the house without them done.

2. What's your top make-up tip?
Get a skincare routine that works for you and stick to it like glue!! I cleanse and tone every morning and evening, and it’s helped my skin so much. Even when I get out of the shower, I still take my Nivea Cleanser quickly over my face on a cotton pad to make sure I’ve got squeaky clean skin. Then I moisturise in the morning and use a night repair serum before bed. It’s done me wonders!!

3. Do you have a favourite all-round beauty product?
I’m really digging the Rimmel 8 in 1 Radiance BB Cream right now, when I’m too lazy to put energy into a full face of make-up. Its light, makes your skin look fantastic and has a whole slew of benefits for your skin, making it the perfect all-rounder. And for under a tenner? You couldn’t beat that with a stick!

4. What's your earliest beauty memory?
Because my sisters are so much older than me, I used to be caught raiding their make-up when I was a kid. I used to nick their foundations, cream shadows and lipsticks and doll myself up. Of course, I thought I was gorgeous, but I’d say it was pretty dire! To this day I still won’t go next, nigh or near pan-stick!!

5. Most girls have a signature scent – what's yours?
I love Prada Candy, it’s sweet and girly and makes me think of good times, with good friends. A lot of memories are attached to it, that’s for sure. Sometimes when I’m feeling a bit more badass I’ll go for Killer Queen by Katy Perry. Prada Candy is a long standing love though.

6. What's in your make-up bag right now?
-Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in Shell
-Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair
-Natural Collection Pressed Powder in Cool
-Wet N Wild blush in Pearlescent Pink
-W7 Absolute Lashes Mascara
-Catrice Liquid Liner
-Urban Decay Naked 2
-Rimmel Brow Gel in Medium
-A few lippies: MAC Faux, Rimmel 01, and Urban Decay in Shame.
-A few brushes: BCC F20, RT Powder, Blush and a handful of eye brushes!

Thanks Amy! For more great beauty tips like those, check out Red Lips Red Hair or follow the blog on Facebook and Twitter!

Some of you beauty fanatics out there will be familiar with the fabulous Irish blog, Dolly Rouge by Kat and Rachelle. Earlier this year, the ladies made the announcement that they would be going their separate ways.

This week, we caught up with Kat and her fabulous beauty blog, Sophistikat. From her earliest beauty memory to a peek inside her make-up bag, Kat lets us in on all of her beauty secrets – check it out!

1. What's your best budget beauty buy?
Oh don't ask me to pick just one! We're so lucky to have access to amazing affordable brands here, even ones that aren't widely available in the UK like Wet N Wild, NYX, Essence and Catrice. For a little island we're spoilt for choice. My absolute favourite would have to be Essence I Love Stage Eyeshadow Primer. Until this came along the only decent eyeshadow bases were from high end brands like Urban Decay and NARS. I've wear tested the Essence primer on one eye, and Urban Decay Primer Potion on the other, and honestly the Essence version was just as good for longevity and preventing creasing. Now I can spend €3 instead of over €20!

2. What's your top make-up tip?
Brows are so important. I only realised this myself in the past couple of years, after getting mine professionally shaped instead of haphazardly plucking them at home. Brows frame your face, and can change your appearance from undefined to polished in an instant. At the same time though, there's a difference between groomed and obviously fake. Don't go overboard filling them in, otherwise you might look back on your photos in ten years time and all you'll be able to see is BROWS. Get a professional to shape them for you, then keep them tidy and add a bit of colour with a brow gel like Benefit Gimme Brow. It only takes two seconds in the morning, and transforms your face.

3. Do you have a favourite all-round beauty product?
Not a product per-se, but an ingredient – glycolic acid. I'm fanatical about chemical exfoliants. They gently break down dead skin cells to reveal fresh radiant skin beneath, without irritating or scratching your skin like scrubs do. Which is really important for people with acne prone or sensitive skin. Glycolic acid has been clinically proven to penetrate the skin to not only exfoliate, but also stimulate collagen and elastin production helping to smooth out lines and wrinkles. It also has water attracting properties and so is great for dehydrated skin. I love to use glycolic acid pads on my face after cleansing, then use the leftover residue on my legs to prevent ingrown hairs, and on my arms to prevent keratosis pilaris. A wonder ingredient!

4. What's your earliest beauty memory?
I had a Lil' Miss Makeup doll that I was obsessed with as a kid. I'm probably showing my age now! She came with makeup sponges, and when you dipped them in cold water and applied them to her face, her makeup magically appeared. Then when you wiped her face with a cloth dipped in warm water, the makeup disappeared again. I always take my makeup off at night, even when I'm wrecked or home from a night out. Must be where I learned the habit!

5. Most girls have a signature scent – what's yours?
Chanel Coco Mademoiselle. It's the scent I wore through my twenties, but now at 30 I think I've outgrown it. I've been sniffing around for a new perfume for my upcoming wedding, and I think I'm going to graduate to Chanel No. 5 for the big day. Cliche, but a total classic.

6. What's in your make-up bag right now?
What's not in my makeup bag more like! I'm really lucky to have a beauty vanity at home, but a few days a week I end up applying my makeup in the gym in morning. This is my bag of daily essentials.

  • NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation
  • Clarins Instant Concealer
  • Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette – I've hit pan and I'll definitely be replacing this. It just brings life to your face and gives it the most gorgeous lit from within glow
  • Bourjois Healthy Balance powder for touch ups throughout the day
  • One of the new Max Factor Creme Puff Baked Blushes
  • Physician's Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Eyeliner (amazing, lasts all day)
  • Benefit Roller Lash (it really does curl straight lashes!)
  • Benefit Gimme Brow
  • A Maybelline Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencil in case I have a red lip emergency
  • My beloved double ended Laura Mercier travel makeup brushes (amazing quality and small enough to fit in your handbag).

Thanks for answering all of our questions, Kat!

The wonderful and whimsical blog, Eyelash In Wonderland is run by Eilish, an Irish girl who is currently living the dream in London.

In her blog, Eilish says she can be defined by three things; sunglasses, red lipstick and leopard print.

We’re not sure about you, but that sounds like our type of gal!

We asked Eilish some questions about her beauty regime and even got a sneaky glimpse into her make-up bag…

1. What's your best budget beauty buy?
I absolutely ADORE Lacura BB cream from Aldi! I'm usually very fussy when it comes to BB cream and I only picked it up because a lady standing next to me in the shop told me how amazing it is. She was so right!!! It is super light and the coverage is fantastic. I've started wearing it at work at the compliments have been flying in!

2. What's your top make-up tip?
Draw lightly along the bottom and upper brow line with concealer before pencilling or shading in the brows. This really helps with defining the shape and prevents mistakes when shading! I've only started doing this recently and it has made a huge difference to my brows.

3. Do you have a favourite all-round beauty product?
Ohhh there's so many but I would have to chose Ultrabland by Lush. This is the best cleaner I've gotten my hands on!!! My skin has totally changed for the better since I started using it and for the first time ever I actually enjoy taking off my make up!

4. What's your earliest beauty memory?
I used to love watching my Mom put on her make up. I remember once she went to do her hair so I took her make up and plastered it all over my face. When she caught me me I said "Mommy's beautiful baby!" and grinned away at her. I don't think she was very impressed!

5. Most girls have a signature scent – what's yours?
I usually have phases when it comes to perfume but the only brand that has ever stuck with me is Burberry. I started off wearing Burberry Weekend but now my signature scent is Burberry Body.

6. What's in your make-up bag right now? Include a picture if you like!
I have a drawer full to the brim with make up and every week I change the contents of my make up bag.

  • Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation
  • Lacura BB Cream
  • Collection Glam Crystals Eyeliner
  • Loreal True Match Concealer
  • Natural Collection Crimson Lipstick
  • Make Up Gallery Never Ending Story Mascara
  • Urban Decay Naked 2 Eyeshadow Palette
  • Max Factor Wild Mega Volume Mascara
  • Yves Rocher Beauty Mascara
  • Loreal Mega Volume Miss Manga Punky Mascara

Lorna Jane Duffy is the mastermind behind Fashion Boss, an Irish site dedicated to all things fashion and beauty.

We're huge fans of LJ's blog, especially her beauty reviews, so we asked her to give us the lowdown on her favourite products, tips and tricks… as well as a sneaky peek into her make-up bag!

1. What's your best budget beauty buy?
Rimmel BB Cream 9 in 1 has to be one of my best budget buys. It’s affordable, it primes, moisturises, minimises pores, conceals, covers, smoothes, mattifies, brightens, and protects your skin from the sun.

If you like your products to work hard then this is 100% for you. I would wear BB cream mostly during the week; it’s great for casual days out, college or work.

2. What's your top make-up tip?
Killer cheekbones are a must! To make round cheeks more chiselled, you’ll need a highlighting powder and a bronzer that is two shades darker than your skin. Make a fish face, and dust the bronzer on the hollows of your cheeks. Smile, then brush the highlighter from the apples of your cheeks to your temples. P.S… MAC and Benefit are two of my favourite brands for highlighting powder and bronzer.

3. Do you have a favourite all-round beauty product?
Absolutely! I think every girl has that one beauty product that they take anywhere and everywhere. Mine would have to be No.7 Stay Perfect Lipstick in Sultry. I never leave the house without my lippy buried somewhere in my MK bag.  The colour is gorgeous and it lasts up to eight hours, while leaving your lips feeling comfortable and hydrated. Oh, and it’s only €12.95.

4. What's your earliest beauty memory?
Oh gosh! I have so many memories, it’s hard to pick one. When I was about five I found and emptied the contents of my mom’s makeup bag, I then “borrowed” her lipstick, hid under the kitchen table and decided to start drawing on my face. A girl is never too young to start playing with her mother’s makeup.

5. Most girls have a signature scent – what's yours?
I love to collect perfume, my dressing table is full of so many different types – Chanel, Paco Rabanne, Viktor & Rolf, Victoria’s Secret, Vera Wang, the list goes on…! My favourite perfume this season would have to be Dolce & Gabbana – The One!

6. What's in your make-up bag right now? Can we have a peek inside?

  • Mac Studio Fix Fluid Foundation
  • Naked 2 – Urban Decay Eyeshadow
  • MAC Mascara
  • MAC Whirl Lip Pencil
  • MAC Cosmetics Mineralise Foundation Powder
  • MAC Faux Lipstick
  • No.7 Red Lipstick
  • Nivea Care Essential Lip Balm
  • Rimmel London BB Cream – Matte
  • Bourjois Eye Pencil
  • Bourjois Eye Liquid Eyeliner
