Boyzone

Since Brian McFadden and Keith Duffy decided to join forces to form Boyzlife, there has been a lot of mixed reactions from their former bandmates.

Nicky Byrne and Kian Egan have both had their say on the reunion, and now Shane Lynch has paid his two cents.

While speaking to the Irish Sun, Shane revealed that Boyzone and Westlife are in talks of going on tour together.

“I had put a tweet out about a year or so ago saying we should join forces. I wanted to see what people thought.

"Everyone was so positive, saying, ‘Oh my God, that would be such an amazing thing’,” he told the paper.

“They’re all the same fans really. I love Westlife, I love Boyzone, so we’re good to go in that respect.”

“At the moment, we’re trying to put things into place to be on the road before 2020," he said.

However, that totally seems to contradict what Nicky Byrne said last week, telling The Irish Daily Star that the rumours of the two bands coming together for a reunion were "never true."

Hmmm… it'll be interesting to see how this all pans out.

He kept his mouth super-glued shut at first, but now Nicky Byrne has opened up about Brain McFadden's Boyzlife.

While speaking to The Irish Daily Star, Nicky revealed that none of his former Westlife bandmates wanted to join the supergroup.

Brian previously insisted that the other members of Westlife and Boyzone were welcome to join in their tour, but Nicky says that that wasn't the case.

“I get on with Brian but the Boyzlife thing was probably sold, maybe by accident, by Brian and Keith thinking that maybe some of us would join, that the door was open for us to join but the reality of it is that none of the members of Westlife were ever going to join,” he told the paper.

Brian also hinted that Boyzlife might see a Westlife reunion, but Nicky said it was "never true."

"I mean that was just never true from our point of view. I wish them the best but it’s not for me,” he said.

The 2FM presenter also insisted that if Westlife ever got back together, it would be for a world tour rather than a tour around hotels in Ireland and England.

“I think if you’re going to have a laugh, tell some stories and sing some songs, why not?”

If you were a Boyzone fan in the 90s, then your day is about to be made.

Ronan Keating has teased fans that the boymenband might be heading for a reunion tour pretty soon.

While speaking at Syndey's Randwick Racecourse, the singer admitted: "We'll probably mark it somehow. I think a tour would be the right thing to do."

Eeeek!

"It's going to be about nostalgia, it's not going to be about new music really," he said.

The bands 25th reunion is in 2018, so you never know, a few tour announcements might be made next year.

So our favourite Irish boybands are being reincarnated into a new act and while this may seem like the best news ever, but not everyone is happy about it.

Brian McFadden, formerly of Westlife, and Keith Duffy of Boyzone have joined forces and confirmed a Boyzlife tour which will involve performing some of the original groups' greatest hits.

However, Kian Egan is not particularly happy about it.

"From the perspective of someone who spent 15 years in Westlife, it was really aggravating,"  said the Voice judge to OK! Magazine.

"It was really unfair on the fans [because] everybody thought that this was what’s happening, you know that Westlife and Boyzone [were uniting].

"I was scratching my head when I first saw it. It’s a bit of an odd one – a member of Westlife who left the band after 4 years decides to use half the name for whatever it is that they’re doing."

But Brian hit back at the comments on the Late Late Show last night.

"I was actually in Westlife for more than 4 years but maths was never Kian’s thing in fairness.

"A lot of people probably did get confused because a lot of people probably thought we were doing a McBusted."

Keith added: "At the end of the day myself and Brian are after teaming up to do a show and talk about 20 years in the business.

The lads are kicking off their tour in London on October 16 before doing 11 more gigs around Ireland.

In perhaps the greatest news to hit our ears ever, Boyzone and Westlife are being reincarnated as Boyzlife and two of our fave members from each band are tied to the project.

Brian McFadden and Keith Duffy have confirmed a Boyzlife tour which will involve performing some of the original groups' greatest hits.

The tour, which is being funded by the Hilton hotel group, launched today in London and the lads seemed excited about the venture.

While there is reportedly potential for other members of the original bands to join, Brian admitted that for now it would involved just two of the lads.

"People are getting confused thinking that with Boyzlife we have started a new supergroup together.

"But this is me and Keith's show. It's called Boyzlife. There's nothing to stop the rest of the guys pairing up and doing it, but for us this was our way."

The pair revealed that the show will involve performing hits from both groups but also chatting to the audience about their lives and careers to date.

Over the years there has been constant rumours about Westlife and Boyzone forming a supergroup… and now Brian McFadden and Keith Duffy are creating their own.

Boyzlife will star the two former boyband singers in a project that is funded by the Hilton hotel group.

The men will make every Westlife and Boyzone fan dreams come true as the pair are going to take to the stage to perform the biggest hits from each group.

Brian also admitted that while nothing in set in stone, he'd love the other lads to join him.

”We all had a chat, the lads. We said it would be amazing. Not even just performing together, but can you imagine the craic? he told The Sun

“Nine of us Irish lads on a tour bus together, going round the world together. It would be absolute carnage. We all get on so well so you never know.

“We would have so much fun on tour. We could end up adding more people to the next one. Right now this is about me and Keith but the door is always open.”

Boyzone and Westlife fans alike got seriously excited earlier this week when rumours of a combined reunion tour began circulating.

And by "circulating", we mean one band member in particular dropping some VERY heavy hints on his personal Facebook page.

Boyzone's Shane Lynch sent the internet into overdrive on Monday when he posted this image online with the caption "MAYBE ITS TIME to join forces and do one of the biggest tour's we have ever seen… #‎justsaying‬."

But sadly it seems that a Boyzone/Westlife tour is just a pipe dream of poor Shaneo's, at least according to former Boyzone frontman Ronan Keating.

"Shane loves to stir the pot! There’s no plans for anything at the moment," he told Goss.ie from the IFTAs red carpet.

"You never know [what might happen] – but there’s no plans right now."

The Dubliner attended the star-studded gala with his new wife Storm – who looked downright stunning in a sheer black gown with geometric detailing, teamed with black and gold jewellery.

The pair tied the knot in country ceremony in East Lothian, Scotland two months ago, with singer Ed Sheeran there to serenade them at the reception.

"Ed's a good friend and Thinking Out Loud is one of mine and Storm's songs," Ronan told HELLO! magazine.

"I was blown away. He is the most grounded, decent guy in the business and what a talent."

Well, if a Boyzone/Westlife tour is off the cards, can we at least hope for a Ronan/Ed duet?!

Well, this news has thrown some boy bands into an absolute meltdown.

While no one seems to be 100 per cent certain if this is just pure rumour or it there is some truth to it, boyband fans are still getting completely worked up about the possibility.

A former Boyzone star sent fans into an intense frenzy when he took to Facebook and posted a very cryptic (and possibly very cruel) message.

The singer posted a throwback photo of Boyzone and another very famous Irish boyband Westlife.

He appeared to be dropping the hint that the two bands would soon be joining forces for what fans are imagining would be the most epic tour of all time.

If you are a boyband fan that is.

"MAYBE ITS TIME to join forces and do one of the biggest tour's we have ever seen… #justsaying," he wrote.

Just three years ago, Westlife called it quits after their farewell tour *sob*, Markus Feehily revealed only last week that there was to be little hopes of a reunion for the lads.

Boyzone originally split in 1999, but reformed once more in 2007. Now, Shane has whipped fans of both groups into quite the frenzy and we’re just dying to see how this all plays out.

It was the celebrity wedding of the summer: Boyzone star Ronan Keating married TV producer Storm Uechtritz in a glittering four-day celebration in Scotland.

And now the first snaps of their Big Day have emerged – with all eyes being on the 34-year-old bride's stunning dress.

The Aussie-native wore a bespoke Chantilly lace dress embroidered with silk and organza petals. Created by designer Steven Khalil, also an Australian, rather than being stark white the gown sports a soft, warm hue.

With the likes of Shane Lynch, Keith Duffy and Mikey Graham, as well as Dannii Minogue and Brian McFadden all in attendance, the star-factor was always going to be high.

But even Storm herself was uncharacteristically mute when none-other than Ed Sheeran came on to perform during their reception.

In an tell-all interview with HELLO! magazine, which exclusively covered the event, Ronan reveals: "Ed's a good friend and Thinking Out Loud is one of mine and Storm's songs.

"When we all caught up in New York City a couple of months ago, I sounded him out about doing it and he didn't hesitate. I was blown away. He is the most grounded, decent guy in the business and what a talent.

"Storm was speechless when Ed appeared. That doesn't happen often!"

Still, the new Mrs Keating had a surprise of her own for the groom: a customised Land Rover Defender which she presented to him immediately after they said their vows.

Ronan describes the car as "the best present ever".

"I've had a couple of them over the years," he states, "but nothing like this one. She has customised it exactly how I would have done it myself – she knows me so well."

Meanwhile, and away from the trappings of a high-profile celebrity wedding, this was very much a family affair – much like the couple's stag and hen dos

In fact, Ronan's son Jack, 16, was best man at the open-air ceremony, while daughters Missy, 14, and nine-year-old Ali were Maid Of Honour and flower girl respectively.

Even the family's pet pug, Aussie, got in on the action: she was ring-bearer and trotted along a petal-strewn aisle with the wedding rings tied around her neck.

"It was a perfect day. We always wanted the wedding party to be just us and the kids," Ronan, 38, also tells HELLO! "It's so special for me that Storm would want the girls to be by her side.

"I'm so proud and honoured. It means the world."

Ronan goes on to tell how he believes his late bandmate, Stephen Gately, who died in 2009, had a hand in ensuring they were basked in sunshine for the entire celebration.

"I know that my Mam, Steo and Storm's granddad had a hand in making sure the weather was perfect – the one thing that was out of our hands."

You can find out more about Ronan and Storm's wedding day at hellomagazine.com and you can read the full interview with lots more pictures in this week's edition of HELLO! which is out tomorrow. It's also available to download tomorrow via iPad, Android, and Kindle fire.

As a member of Boyzone, he's sold millions of albums globally.

They were once one of the most popular boyband in Ireland and England, but now it seems even their own former manager has given up on them.

In a rather uncalled for tirade against Boyzone, Louis Walsh has said it is time for the lads to go.

Talking to the Irish Mirror, the X Factor judge said: “They are a bit beyond it now – it’s time to go. Motown? I mean to do Motown you have to be amazing singers and I don’t know whose idea that was but it was the worst idea in the world, it really was. Boyzone can’t do Motown, the next thing they will be doing Irish republican songs. It’s time to go out with a little bit of dignity.”

Um, ouch! Louis didn’t hold back in his thoughts on Boyzone’s return, did he?! We can’t help but think it won’t be long before Ronan Keating is hitting back at his cruel words!

Ireland seemed impressed by the lads’ performance on last night’s Cheerios Childline Concert, so perhaps there may be a market for their Motown album after all!

And who knows, perhaps they'll take on the Wolfe Tones after that! Louis may be eating his words in the years to come…

Ronan Keating enjoyed the opening night of his new West End show, Once, this week and has found a way to remember his Boyzone bandmate Stephen Gately, who passed away in 2009.

The Boyzone star told reporters at the show that he would be wearing red socks for the entire run of the show as a tribute to his old friend: “Red was his favourite colour so that’s my little tipping of the cap to Stephen. I wish he was here.”

Ronan remembered how Stephen loved doing shows: “I never thought I’d do a musical; that was Stevo’s gig. That was his thing and he was amazing at it.”

The Irish pop star's fellow bandmates, Mikey, Shane and Keith showed up at the debut of the West End musical to show their support for Ronan.

What a beautiful tribute Ronan has given his old bandmate and best friend.
