Up to 250 teenagers were involved in a mass fight in Dublin city
Several people were injured during a mass violent brawl on Mary Street and Henry Street in the heart of Dublin on St Stephen’s Day.
Bystanders were shocked as the incident unfolded on one of the busiest shopping days of the year and as many as five shoppers are believed to have been assaulted.
A Garda spokesperson confirmed to SHEmazing! that one male was arrested on public order-related offences as Gardai responded to the incident at 7.10pm.
The incident allegedly involved two large rival groups of teenagers, some of whom were armed with knives, and is believed to have been organised via social media site Facebook.
“At one point about 90 to 100 youths came running up the street together. They were all shouting at the same time and filming themselves with their phones,” a Mary Street sales assistant told the Independent.
Officers at Store Street Garda Station are continuing to investigate the gangs.
