When it comes to speeches at Irish weddings, it often looks like the lads have the market cornered.

From the father of the bride and the best man to the groom himself, us ladies often take a back seat when it comes to public speaking on our big day.

Unless you’re Ina O’Brien, that is.

Taking social media by storm this week, this stunning bride from Co. Mayo turned the notion that us ladies merely smile through the speeches on its head, and gave a rendition of Ice Ice Baby which has Facebook users falling all over themselves.

Clocking up a staggering 55,000 likes in 23 hours, Ina and her new husband, Aidan, have been inundated with congratulations from Facebook users only dying for the next instalment.

With suggestions flooding in that Ina has found her true vocation in life, the new bride responded: “lol. Think it’s a bit early to quit the day job!!!! Don't worry you can shoot my next video!!!!”

Ladies, feast your eyes.

It's the modern bride dilemma: just how do you rock killer footwear on your wedding day… while also still honouring your vegan lifestyle?

However, it seems that Monsieur Christian won't let an animal-loving bride down – he was able to come up with custom-made pumps without needing to use leather or skins.

New York-resident Jennie Wilson was engaged in December 2014 – but six months later turned vegan.

"I always intended to wear Christian Louboutin shoes on my wedding day," Ms Wilson, 30, told the New York Post. However, she added: "I did not want an animal to die [just so I could wear] its skin as leather."

It seeming took months for Louboutin to find materials that met his exacting standards and to figure out a cruelty-free construction – but the cobbler got there in then end, allowing Jennie to walk down the aisle on June 11 in France in unique footwear.

The painstaking procedure involved making casts of the bride’s feet.

“Once [Louboutin] determined they were able to source the materials, it was seamless,” she stated, explaining that the shoes were eventually made from a pale pink satin-like fabric in the designer's Paris atelier.

It has been reported that standard made-to-measure Louboutins take five weeks to process and cost at least €3,000 – although Jennie won't reveal how much exactly she paid for her 6in vegan version (she did say she spent "well over" $100,000 in total on the nuptials).

Louboutin furthermore constructed a cruelty-free sparkly clutch-style bag as a gift for Jennie.

She married her fiancé, Richard Smith, 30, at the Château d’Ermenonville near Paris wearing custom vegan dress by Galia Lahav.

And a total of 60 guests dined on – understandably – vegan fare once vows were exchanged.

Just because it’s your wedding day, doesn’t mean you’re guaranteed time off – at least that’s what Pennsylvanian nurse Julie Stroyne learned on her big day.

According to People, the 24-year-old trauma nurse was outside her reception venue just hours after walking down the aisle when she came across an unconscious woman.

Julie immediately leapt into action and began performing CPR on the woman – all the while wearing her wedding dress – until the paramedics arrived.

The bride told ABC: “To be honest I don’t remember running. I just threw my purse and my flowers and just went into action.”

“[Her pulse] got stronger as I kept feeling for it which was a good sign. Her respirations were very shallow but I think the action of me giving compressions kind of woke her up.”

“All I have to say is, thank goodness I had one champagne with the toast and that’s it.”

“I didn’t drink at all. Thank goodness I was able to help.”

Julie’s mother told People that she wasn't surprised by her daughter's actions and said "she picked the right calling".

The newlyweds are now holidaying in the UK before completing their honeymoon with a trip to Greece.

After all that, we think their break very well deserved.

There’s no doubt that us Irish gals are a progressive lot – and let’s face it, we rarely need an excuse to speak up and speak out.

Still, when it comes to putting a ring on it, it seems that folk in this country remain pretty traditional: more than half say they’d be happy to change their name after getting married.

And while the survey – released earlier today by One4All – doesn’t differentiate between male and female respondents, it remains the norm for the bride to make the swap rather than the other way around.

Nevertheless, a quarter have no intention of relinquishing their birth name – probably a figure that will continue to rise as the age of marrying couples also increases (women in Ireland are now a rather mature 33 years; men are an equally grown-up 35 upon marriage).

One in 10 opt for a double-barrel compromise – a particularly popular choice for same-sex couples – while just 2 percent go the way of Dawn O’Porter, drawing on an element of their spouse’s title to create something new altogether.

But regardless of the naming preferences of the happy couple – and despite the obvious expenses of attending – it furthermore appears that as wedding guests, we're usually seriously up for big day out.

According to the same One4all report, which quizzed close to 600 Irish adults, 75 percent of us happily ditch the kids for a proper knees-up and only 2 percent would consider declining an invite if it meant taking a day off work.

Meanwhile, when it comes to keeping unflattering snaps off the internet; a quarter of brides and grooms would implement a social media ban during their nuptials, and only 10 percent would try and get a dedicated hashtag going.

Commenting on the survey results One4all Ireland said: “The survey reflects that we are still very respectful of the ceremony of marriage and we are huge fans of the big day out and all it entails.”

They added: “There’s no doubt that weddings and the etiquette that goes with them can be tricky to navigate. For any wedding guests looking for the perfect gift for the happy couple, the One4all Wedding Gift Card is an appreciated gift.”

Introducing the world's most generous couple!

Over the past few years, Turkey has welcomed almost two million refugees from Syria, with 4,000 alone in the Turkish city of Kilis, all of whom are fed by a charity in the area.

One bride and groom decided to share their joyful day with those who are less fortunate by inviting them to eat with them and celebrate at their wedding.

Fethullah Üzümcüoğlu and Esra Polat got married in a province near the Syrian border last week. Spurred on by an idea from the groom's father, they opened their big day to thousands of people in need.

Food was provided to the guests using trucks and the bride and groom were among those who helped to dish it out. Father of the groom Serhat Kilis said that he hopes others will follow suit and spend their wedding day celebrating with their Syrian brothers and sisters.

"We thought that on such a happy day, we would share the wedding party with our Syrian brothers and sisters," he explained.

"God willing, this will lead to others doing the same and giving food to our Syrian brothers and sisters. For us, it was an interesting wedding dinner."

Bride Esra described the whole thing as a "wonderful experience," adding, "I’m happy that we had the opportunity to share our wedding meal with the people who are in real need."

Choosing bridesmaids is probably one of the toughest jobs when it comes to being a bride, but this girl did things a bit differently.

Christine Quinn wanted her life long BFF to be one of her bridesmaids, her granny!

Apparently her Gran was a bit hesitant to take part at first as she was afraid that an 89-year-old bridesmaid might take the attention away.

She even wore the same dress as the rest of the girls and danced the night away at the reception.

“While she doesn’t live that close, we have continually made it a point to spend as much time together as possible,” Quinn told The Huffington Post. “She just has an amazing sense of humor and outlook on life that I strive to emulate every day. Everyone loves her.”

“She had the entire wedding party laughing with her words of wisdom and funny comments throughout the day,” Quinn said.

“You’re only as old as you feel and I feel young today,” Nana Betty told Quinn on the big day.

We know all about the ceremony, the guests, the venue, the food, and the tears (Mark's – not Michelle's).

We even heard of their incredible-sounding Dirty Dancing routine, and have been given a glimpse of their Maldives honeymoon.

But what we've really been waiting for is news of The Dress.

Yes, the Hello! magazine containing exclusive snaps of the celebrity wedding of the year hits shelves tomorrow – and the sneak-peak cover offers an amazingly exciting taster of what the beautiful bride wore.

It had already been widely reported in advance that the 27-year-old actress had designed the gown herself, and SHEmazing! can now reveal that it is in fact a bespoke creation imagined by Michelle in conjunction with Israeli atelier, Galia Lahav.

Michelle purchased the dress at Brown's Brides in central London, where she had been spotted a week before her Big Day getting a last-minute fitting.

It is adorned with stunning French lace and delicate Swarovski crystals, and features a cascading silk tulle fishtail. Arguably most striking of all, however, is the plunging lace-trimmed deep-V back.

Her veil, which she wore for the wedding ceremony but then removed for the reception, is by Peter Langner, who has been creating stunning pieces from his Roman studio for 25 years.

Meanwhile, Mark, 28, certainly looks handsome in his black tuxedo and bowtie. "She looked so amazing. Her wedding dress was just perfect," the groom told Hello!.

The reality TV star also summed up his love for his wife, saying: "Not only are you beautiful, but you are one of the most incredible people I have ever met. You truly are sensational in every single way."

Michelle herself was understandably equally glowing: "Seeing Mark looking back at me as I walked down the aisle was the best feeling ever," she commented.

Furthermore visible in the teaser magazine shot, which was released earlier this evening, is the lush setting of Hengrave Hall in Suffolk, the breathtaking 16th-century manor where the couple held their lavish reception.

Mark and Michelle's 29-page wedding album, complete with details from inside the ceremony, tears from the groom, their first dance plus the Dirty Dancing inspired routine, are all in the latest edition of Hello! magazine, which is on sale tomorrow.

You’ve made it through the ceremony without a hitch.

Your dress, which took you months to source, has been inundated with compliments and showered with admiration.

And every so often, you can’t help but glance with pride at your new husband.

In short, your Big Day is going swimmingly – you’re overjoyed.

Until, that is, one of your guests marches up towards the top table, gets down on one knee mere metres from where you and the groom are seated, and proposes to his already squealing girlfriend.

A few gathered invitees whip out their phones to capture the moment, and a few more break into awkward applause.

You’re simmering with fury, but all you can do is grin and bear; smiling through the intense anger.

This scenario may seem implausible – but for one seemingly unsuspecting bride and groom, this is an incident they were recently forced to endure on their own wedding day.

The moment has since been shared on Reddit, garnering some 3.7m viewers and more than 1,500 comments.

And understandably, the online reaction has largely sided with the newlyweds.

"This is up there with my uncle giving my cousins a puppy at my birthday party," remarked one user. "That's the saddest thing I've ever heard," another uttered sympathetically.

"That is the f***ing definition of 'stealing my thunder' right there," someone else stated. "Her smiles says 'congratulations', her eyes say 'that b***h'," one user wrote.

A minority, however, failed to see the issue: "Why is this a problem?" one asked. "It's supposed to be a happy night and this would make the bride happy if she was her sister etc."

It is believed that the event took place at a recent wedding in the US, though the bride and groom remain unidentified.

The newly-engaged couple have also yet to declare themselves publicly.

Prepare to feel all of the feels with this emotional video!

NASCAR driver Brian Scott married the love of his life, Whitney Kay recently, but he made sure he gave his vows not only to his wife-to-be, but also to his future stepdaughter, Brielle.

Bending down to the 3-year-old, Brian says to Brielle "I promise to always hold your hand and skip with you down the street and bring comfort to your life. I vow to make you say your prayers before you eat. I promise to read you stories at night and to always tuck you in real tight. I vow to show you how a man should treat a woman in my relationship with your mother. And above all else, I vow to protect you, care for you and love you forever."

Needless to say, the special moment between father and daughter instantly brought tears to the eyes of guests (ok, fine we're in bits too!).

To see the amazing vow to his stepdaughter, skip to 4:09, though to be fair the entire video is stunning.

The video was shared on YouTube last year, but has gained major traction in the last few weeks, with almost a million views!

We reckon this groom really regrets deciding to pick up his new wife and run with her…

Because of course he fell, and it looked painful too!

Thankfully, the bride seems to be a good sport and gets back in the saddle (so to speak).

This bride really didn’t care who she insulted when she posted a list of reasons, for not inviting certain people to her wedding on Reddit! We kind of applaud her honesty, but at the same time, it’s a bit much, no?

Many women go to great lengths in order to achieve perfection for their wedding day.

Lauren Conrad, on the other hand, seems to be taking it easy and isn’t allowing the pressure of her big day to get on top of her.

The former star of The Hills, who is set to walk up the aisle to fiancé, William Tell, spoke to People magazine about her fitness regime: “I’m not a huge fan of the gym to be honest. When I have to go to the gym and put an hour in, I’m just staring at the clock. I just like getting out, like going on a hike, going on the kayaks, going for a run on the beach.”

Lauren also opened up about treating your body right, and how she achieves body confidence: “I really love food. I’m not good at dieting. I try to make smart choices but just eat a little bit less. I am all for body confidence, but I am even more for living a healthy lifestyle. Treat your body right, exercise, eat healthy and then feeling confident in your bikini.”

Wow – we love this woman’s healthy outlook on getting fit and keeping healthy. So positive!
