Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague were the runners up of this years' Love Island series, but ex Islander Elma Pazar has given her opinion on why they didn't take the crown.
20-year-old boxer Tommy and 19-year-old influencer Molly were beaten to the £50,000 prize by Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea, and Elma explained that the runners up were dull to watch.
The 26-year-old eyelash technician said; "For me personally, Amber and Greg deserved to win. I'm really happy for Tommy and Molly that they came second, they were a solid couple all the way through."
Amber and Greg found each other after Michael Griffiths broke the 21-year-old Geordie girl's heart in shockingly douchebag fashion.
Essex gal Elma added; "But in a sense, I think because they were just a guaranteed couple, they didn’t bring much drama after a while.
"It’s nice for them, obviously you don’t want to have drama when you’re in a relationship."
Elma left the villa single, but dispelled claims that viewers assumed that Molly-Mae was faking her love for Tommy through non-existent tears.
Speaking to Daily Star Online, she said: "I know Molly got a lot of stick about not being genuine and stuff but I do honestly think that Amber and Greg were the rightful winners, especially Amber."
Molly recently hit out at co-star Belle Hassan after she accused Molly of being 'two faced' in the final week.
She said her comments were a "shame" insisting: "There were no tactics used at all. Absolutely none. People can say what they want."
Herself and boyfriend Tommy Fury voted to send Belle and Anton Danyluk home, leading to them being dumped from the show by the public before the final.
21-year-old Belle said: "I think Molly has too many opinions sometimes. I really get on with Molly, but she can be a little bit two faced."
Tommy defended their join decision, and said: "We put Anton and Belle in the bottom three, but it was the public who voted Anton and Belle out. It wasn't us. It was the voters who did that."
Fair point. Belle saying the move was 'tactical' doesn't mean much, considering the entire show is a competition for a huge cash prize…
Controversial statement incoming; Love Island's Danny Williams and Jourdan Riane have already discussed marriage, despite having only known each other for less than a month. Sounds super real, doesn't it?
The ITV reality stars confirmed their relationship after they were dumped from the island weeks before the final, and now say they're completely in love.
The pair have obviously been plagued with accusations of a 'showmance', but are emphasising that their love is real when they appeared on a Channel 5 online interview today.
"Could you guys see yourselves getting married?" presenter Will Njobvu asked them. "Are you going to marry me?" Jourdan quizzed Danny, leaning in to his face.
"Are you going to marry me? Are you going to propose?" he responded. "Wooow!" Jourdan laughed. "No, I can see this lasting."
Danny gushed to his new girlfriend: "I said to you, when you met my parents, this has got long-term written all over it, and I've never said that before in a relationship. She met everyone – grandmas, little cousins, everybody loved her, and for me that's a massive thing."
"I think if that's happening already I can definitely see long-term future plans with you," Danny said. "We've got holidays booked already, it's good."
Jourdan commented: "We're best friends already, it's a very chilled relationship. It's working. Hope so, fingers crossed it works. I do see it lasting and working."
The couple were dumped by their fellow Islanders for being the least compatible romance, but have made a flying start to their relationship on the outside.
They attended a star-studded viewing party of the final, where Amber Gill and Greg O'Shea became king and queen of the villa and split the £50,000 between them.
Danny and Jourdan were joined by none other than Yewande Biala, who was fuming when Danny's head was turned by Arabella Chi in the villa and chose the model in the next recoupling, leaving her dumped.
Love Island's Ovie Soko has given an adorable response to the love he's received since participating in the reality TV show.
The 28-year-old basketball player earned third place in this year's show, alongside India Reynolds, but won the fans' affection with his chilled out vibes, hilarious egg-making antics and fashion sense.
Amber Gill and Greg O'Shea were crowned king and queen of 2019's series, but Ovie Soko is possibly the true winner.
Ovie joined the series during Casa Amor, and immediately showed interest in Anna Vakili, who brought him back to the main villa after a recoupling.
The fans fell in love with his demeanor, good vibes and hilarious catchphrases, not to mention those stylin' bucket hats.
When asked by MailOnline how he felt about garnering an onslaught of fan affection, Ovie responded in the most Ovie way possible.
On a serious note it’s been amazing watching Ovie on TV. Majority of black men I know are like Ovie but are never represented like that on telly. He’s shown the UK that black men can be loveable gentle giants and not just violent and angry. #LoveIslandpic.twitter.com/HELHDWGKhI
"I don’t really get it," he said, before admitting: "I haven’t seen anything yet. We’re just closing up over here, I am overwhelmed by the love."
Asked about where his chilled-out nature comes from, Ovie commented,
"When I was in primary school I had a lot of energy and been bouncing off the walls but I’m just a chilled person really. I just don’t get ahead of myself. We’re in a huge villa in the sun in Spain, you don’t have much to worry about."
Ovie revealed that his notorious catchphrase comes from watching iconic 1990s American movies;
"Message?! Oh wow!" he continued. "I used to watch a lot of comedy when I was younger, I watched Don’t Be A Menace and it stuck into my head when the phone went off."
Thank God for Ovie, who was hugely important for black representation this year and showed that male and female friendships should be valued as much as romance.
Maura's mum wants to grab him for herself, so he may need security coming home to Heathrow airport. Every age group and gender want some more Ovie in their lives, and brands are already flocking to nab him for deals.
There'll undoubtedly be a massive crowd waiting to catch a glimpse of their hero, but we're just overjoyed that he made it out of Casa Amor onto our screens. For Amber's sake too, seeing as he became her 'guardian angel.'
Queen of the Love Island villa Amber Gill has reacted to Michael Griffiths crawling back to Joanna Chimonides after he was dumped from the house.
She believes that she deserved to win with Greg O'Shea because of the horrendous journey Michael sent her on, after the firefighter's head was turned while she was at Casa Amor.
Michael and Amber coupled up early on but were torn apart after he broke her heart by cheating with Joanna Chimonides.
Amber deserved to win. Girl got swapped for Joanna by Michael, treated horribly by them, gaslit and then the same guy tried to mess her up again and take her back but she had the self respect to choose Greg and walk away from that toxic relationship and WIN. #LoveIsland
Michael and Joanna have been spotted together on the outside kissing at a festival, despite having a fight when Michael didn't walk away from the villa with her when she was dumped.
In the explosive row, Joanna branded Michael a 'snake' and said 'if you've found what you want then you'd better f*cking leave, mate." Yikes. Despite this, they seem to be back together.
Amber has since branded their reconciliation 'weird.', saying; "Am I surprised by that? To be fair I didn’t see much of their relationship. I don’t really know how they were."
The Geordie lass added; "Michael definitely tried to come back to me so I think it’s a bit weird. I don’t really want to say too much," said Amber.
The 21-year-old said she doesn't believe she would have won the public vote in Monday's live final if she had gone back to Michael.
"If I'd gone for Michael it would have been she’s gone back to the guy who didn’t treat her well," explained Amber. "Me and Greg were a good match and he came in when I needed a gent and I feel like that's why it went for us," she added.
"I don’t think Michael will be kicking himself. I think he was happy for me either way. I think everything happens for a reason. We’ll have to see what his reason is," she told the Mirror.
Joanna and Michael set the rumour mill alight when they were spotted looking cosy at a Kisstory even in London on Saturday.
Joanna had vowed that she'd never go back there, but this appears to have been straight up nonsense…She's since denied any romance between them.
She hit out on social media: "I just want to make a point, we weren't kissing. He was saying something in my ear and I found it funny. I can't remember what it was," she told her followers.
"Is her ear located in her mouth?" tweeted one online user. Michael's reaction to Greg and Amber's win was to say; "Oh s***, oh s***, I did not expect that," he said. "Ratings."
He also implied that Amber would have stolen the 50,000 pounds rather than split it, which is another loads of bullsh*t from a bitter man.
Love Island fans have always been obsessed with the pure relationship between Amber Gill and Ovie Soko, but last night's final was the cherry on top of a glorious cake.
Ovie was essentially a proud dad when Amber and Irish charmer Greg O'Shea were crowned the winners of the 2019 show.
Referring to her as his 'little sister', it was the pinnacle of their beautiful, healthy and supportive friendship. The basketball player looked more than chuffed to see her become Queen of the villa.
The pair beat off stiff competition in the form of Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury, but the public were bowled over by how respectful Greg was towards Amber after she went through hell with Michael Griffiths.
Well, now Amber has £25,000 and a Greg on her arm, so f*ck you Michael. Many viewers were questioning Maura Higgins' face when the couple were named as first place winners, but Ovie was cheering from the sidelines.
"Did anyone catch how happy Ovie looked when Amber and Greg won?" one person wrote on Twitter, while another added, "OVIE LOOKS SO HAPPY FOR AMBER HONESTLY THAT MAN IS AN ANGEL".
Ovie looks like a proud dad
Maura sweetie I know you thought Tommy & Molly had it in the bag but you doubted just how much love there is for Amber #LoveIslandpic.twitter.com/piqNVU6x0Y
A third commented, "Ovie’s reaction to Amber and Greg winning is everything," and another added, "Ovie is like that proud dad blessing Amber and Greg’s relationship."
The man is a classy gentleman, and seeing such an amazing vibe between the pair proves that the show isn't just about finding a romantic partner.
When he was asked his favourite moment of the series, he included the fact that he met a "fiery girl" in Casa Amor who became his little sister. At that point, the audience were almost certainly crying…
*Ovie on his wedding day to I*dia, at the altar*
I would like to shout out Amber first and foremost, you look absolutely stunning today babygirl, killin' em,#loveIsland
"I came into this Love Island villa looking for the opportunity to find someone special. I arrived four weeks ago in Casa Amor, I met a fiery girl that backed me from day one, and grew on me as a little sister."
25K & OVIE AS YOUR BESTIE NAHHHH AMBER IS WINNING!! #loveisland
Amber gets Ovie as her new BFF/Big Brother/Guardian Angel as well as £25K and a Greg? Life is sweet for those who wait for what they deserve to come to them.
Ex Islanders Yewande Biala, Anna Vakili, Anton Danyluk, Belle Hassan as well as Chris Taylor, Harley Brash, Jordan Hames and Joe Garratt all cheered Amber on from a viewing party of their own.
Yewande in particular was delighted for her villa bestie, and Anna praised Amber for being the "most real" girl in the villa.
What a series, but three cheers for King Greg. The Limerick man went on a 12 day holiday, treated a girl with respect and came out of it with £25,000 and a new career. Praise Jesus for Greg.
Now, we have to admit; This isn't surprising content.
Love Island star Joanna Chimonides has denied claims that she kissed Michael Griffiths at a festival last night, after they were pictured getting pretty damn close.
Footage emerged of the 22-year-old and the 27-year-old firefighter sharing a passionate kiss at Kisstory together with other reality TV stars.
"There are pictures of me and Michael so-called kissing. He was saying something in my ear, I found it funny. Can’t remember what it was. I think one thing with me and you’ll get to know this the more you get to know me, is I don’t hold onto hate and negativity."
She continued: "For me, it’s been a lot easier for my journey and me getting over the Michael situation, is me letting go of whatever happened and letting go of hate.
"That’s just how I am and what I do and in the end, I’m happier and I feel so good everyday and that’s purely because I’m letting go of the negativity and anything that was upsetting me at the time."
Wait wtf are Joanna and Michael a thing again? After he said on tv to Amber “did you hear me mention a specific person?” Joanna you absolute mug#LoveIsland
Joanna also insisted that she and Michael are just friends after he chose to remain in the Love Island villa rather than leave with her when she was eliminated two weeks ago.
She continued: "It’s okay to be friends with someone you were with, it is okay for that. I’m friends with my exes and it is OK.
"For me and Michael, it was such a laugh being together. It was really nice and everyone had such a laugh. If I didn’t let go of that negativity I wouldn’t have had a good time yesterday and I wouldn’t be making memories with that Love Island lot."
While some of the fans are giving Joanna far too much heat, saying she has no self-respect for taking him back, others are simply laughing at her;
"Joanna you absolute mug," one Twitter user said. Another called her a 'dummy' and a 'clown' for taking back the villa villain.
Another fan rightfully pointed out that Joanna is now receiving all the hate that Amber would have gotten had she taken her ex back, who humiliated her by choosing Joanna after Casa Amor.
Joanna is now receiving all of the hate that Amber would of got had she took back Michael at the re-coupling, Whew #LoveIsIand
Michael became a national enemy after breaking Amber Gill's heart on live television, leaving her standing alone and loyal after his head was turned in Casa Amor.
His antics were the subject of countless memes (which we pored over for hours). It seems the pair are dating once again, but will his head be turned by someone else?
We reckon so. Once a chaldish man, always a chaldish man.
“When it’s racist and it’s threats and you have to get the police involved that’s next level. And it got to that extent."
Social media has been a cesspit for death threats targeting reality stars;
“I'm going to bed at night I go on my phone like everybody else does, and you see some of the people saying they're going to come and kill me or, 'You're a horrible sick f' and whatever.”
Amber Gill's long-time BFF Mart Tweedy is backing her and Greg O'Shea to win Love Island.
Mart said he's over the moon to witness Amber looking so relaxed and happy with the 24-year-old rugby player from Limerick, who came into the villa just when her drama with Michael Griffiths was coming to an end.
“He’s Irish with muscles, what’s not to like?” he told OK! magazine. Amen to that. “He’s such a gentleman.
“I think Michael only wanted her back because he saw her laughing and happy with Greg. He was jealous,” he said.
“It would have been difficult for Amber to build trust with Michael. I think it would have brought back memories of when she was hurt in the past.”
Tweedy is running Amber's social media account during her time on the show, also claimed that Amber would never have sex in the villa.
“Never in a million years. She’s been getting requests on Instagram from companies like Babestation and Pornhub,” he said.
I hope Greg and Amber are another Jamie and Camilla.. met at the last minute and have been together ever since, I love them together and she deserves it after what she’s been through in the villa #loveisland#amberandgregpic.twitter.com/SAzyFNoaZo
Maura’s Instagram following has boomed since she entered the Love Island villa a month ago.
The pair argued over his involvement in Jordan Hames' controversial decision to confess his feelings for India Reynolds after just making Anna Vakili his girlfriend, behind her back.
Hewitt told OK! magazine that she's adapting to the couple, but isn't confident that they'll last.
“It could be a summer romance, and then they’ll come back to reality,” she said. I do believe Maura likes him. I love that she’s upfront and feisty, but I think she’s a bit overpowering.
Eyal Booker was catapulted into fame last year after taking part in the phenomenon that is Love Island, the ITV2 reality show that's become beloved all over the world.
The 23-year-old appeared on Celebs Go Dating after his stint in the Spanish villa, and definitely knows his stuff when it comes to reality TV romance.
We caught up with the model and TV star at the launch of a massively-exciting essence lip collection. Their Lip Saviours range features 52 fabulous products including lipsticks, lipglosses, lipliners and liquid lipsticks.
Oh, did we mention that they're all under €4? essence have also created the ultimate lip look book to offer you dozens of options to create your signature look.
essence also prides itself on it's cruelty-free status, so you can mix and match to find your glamorous, natural, vibrant, glossy, understated or matte lip looks without worrying about animal testing.
Eyal Booker is representing the ground-breaking beauty brand, which sponsors both Love Island on Virgin Media player as well as the biggest pageant in the country; Miss Ireland 2019.
Of course, we simply had to ask him his opinions on our Irish exports, namely Longford lass Maura Higgins.
“I love the Irish contestants, I love Maura. I just loved her from the start. I think that the way she’s entered the villa, the way that she’s held herself, the things she comes out with; I think she’s a powerful, independent woman who’s proud of who she is and stands up for what she believes in and says what she wants. I think that that’s really inspiring for young women out there, and she’s a good influence and good person to have within the public eye and society”.
“She’s going to have a good career. At first, it took a little time to get used to her but now we can’t get enough of her. She’s contagious and just says it how it is. That goes a long way in this show.”
The latest controversy to shake the villa is, of course, the meltdown between Anna Vakili and Jordan Hames.
The model asked Anna to be his girlfriend only days ago, yet pulled India Reynolds aside for a chat (on Curtis' advice) to confess his feelings for her, while Anna was only metres away.
What does Eyal think was going through his head? The pair were dumped from the villa last night, but were they authentic?
“I don’t know where that’s come from (Jordan’s feelings for India), I don’t know what Jordan was thinking. They’ve screwed each other over within the process, you know when Anna left him for Ovie and then came back to him and now Jordan’s about to do the same. As much as they’re trying to make us believe their relationship, I don’t buy the reasons that they’re in the villa. I just think they want to be genuine but they’re actually just not that into each other.”
ITV bosses have faced numerous accusations that the reality show is a 'fix', with claims made against the honesty of each character.
In Eyal's time in the villa, he denies that the show every forced anyone into a certain narrative of hero or villain, womaniser or gentleman;
“They don’t try and create something that’s not there. They highlight some things over others, in terms of the edit. I wasn’t just this spiritual, tree-hugging guy but that’s a lot of what I was made out to be. You can’t all be the same, and they edit everyone a different way. There’s no one there saying ‘You should do this’ or ‘You should do that’.”
Other criticisms made against the show involve the noteworthy emphasis on physique and appearance. Does Eyal think the show has contributed to the continued popularity of beauty pageants like Miss Ireland?
“Pageants have always been popular and I think with social media and the world that we live in, they can grow even quicker and bigger because there’s accessibility to a wider audience. I think Love Island showcases the fact that it can reach such a vast and big audience. It encourages other people to get on social media and get on platforms and use that platform in order to further themselves."
Amy Hart recently posted an Instagram snap of a charity who she works with closely, but trolls commented that the image was 'boring'. Social media presence is a huge part of Love Island stars' careers when many of them leave, but do they control who they work with and their brand?
According to Eyal; “We have complete control. When I came out of the villa, I got a management because I needed to manage everything that was going on. They try and guide you in a direction that they see fit for you but also a direction that you see fit for yourself. It’s just a discussion that you have. We have incredible platforms when we come out, and I think charity is a big thing on people’s minds and people want to use their platform for good as well. It’s something that a lot of people go into and become ambassadors for because, as much as you’re reaping the rewards of having such a huge platform and getting all of these brand deals, you also want to give back to people in less fortunate positions."
He continued; "Charity is a nice thing to do, I’ve always worked with them but now I’m doing on them on a bigger scale because I’ve got a bigger audience.”
“I work with World Vision, very closely. I’m an ambassador for them, and I also work with the RSPCA and Dog’s Trust. I’ve always loved animals, all animals, and animal welfare. World Vision is to do with young children and their families in areas of conflict or disaster, and it’s about sending emergency response and helping them further themselves. Children are the future, they’re the generation who are going to shape our world and who are going to be here when we’re not. Providing them with the best possible tools in order to have the best and brightest future is essential for our world to get better and better.”
Another problematic aspect of the show, arguably, is their continuous sponsorship from fast fashion brands. The stars wear different ensembles every day in the villa, with companies like I Saw It First working with the reality show.
I love Love Island, I just do, (call me a sucker for a fairytale in a thong) but I hate its sponsorship & promotion of fast, throwaway fashion – which surely can’t have been made by people paid enough or treated… https://t.co/R1zEKyk8w8
Once the Islanders leave the villa, many of them will work with branding constantly, showing a materialistic lifestyle via their social platforms. Does Eyal see an issue with this side of Love Island life?
“It’s an interesting one, I actually hadn’t heard that until now. I think there’s two sides to this story. I think that everyone’s individual style and fashion showcases the fact that you can self-express and be who you want to be, and dress and wear what you want to wear. I think fast fashion is affordable for people, but at the same time, fast fashion is one of the biggest polluters of our environment. It contributes to huge amount of emissions and pollution and adds to climate change."
He continues; "It’s one of those things where we want instant gratification and we want to be able to purchase all the things that we want for a low price but we don’t really see at which cost we’re getting them at and how detrimental it is to our environment. I’m in a Catch 22 about that one, I work with some fast fashion brands and I would like to think I’m an environmentalist and I care about our planet. I think there’s a balance that we can find within it. Although fast fashion, although it’s been around for a while, it has only just come into play and become as popular as it is. It’s about us starting to regulate that and coming on board with how we as a society consume things and over-consume things.”
“Through omnipresent product placements and advertising, #LoveIsland has turned into fast fashion’s biggest advocate.” https://t.co/5I3HBXVln7
Does he do his homework on the brands that he associates with, when it comes to ethics?
“essence is cruelty-free which is part of the reason I’m at this event. I couldn’t be an ambassador for, let’s say the RSPCA who campaign against animal testing, and then a brand who test on animals. We’re only human and we make mistakes, we overlook things, but we try as hard as we can to highlight the things that align with me and then we go from there.”
The show is undeniably heteronormative, and excludes the majority of the population.
"The fact that it would be such a big deal is testament to the fact of how far we’ve got to go." https://t.co/oV0USsKTYs
With Love Island spreading Stateside and now to South Africa for the winter edition, does he think these expansion moves could mean an LGBTQ+ version could be in the pipeline soon?
“I think it would take some time for people to catch on to. I’ve grown up within an entertainment, performing world, I don’t differentiate between anyone; your sex, the colour of your skin, your appearance; whatever you are, you are. But I think we, as a society, whether we like it or not are still evolving and still changing and becoming aware of the LGBTQ+ community. I think as much as I’d like to say that there’d be no stigmas attached and no judgements, if we see what judgements come from Love Island and how much stick people can get as heterosexuals, then we have to be realistic at what the response would be. I think that that’s the way it’s going to go, and eventually there will be all kinds of shows for all kinds of people, but we have to ease it in slowly.”
AJ Pritchard has jumped to his brother's defence after last night's explosive episode of Love Island, where Anna Vakili branded Curtis Pritchard a 'narcissist'.
The pharmacist blasted fellow islander Curtis after he told her boyfriend Jordan Hames to pull India Reynolds aside to confess his feelings for her behind Anna's back.
Professional dancer Curtis encouraged Jordan to act on his emotions, even though Hames had only asked Anna to be his girlfriend two days previously.
— Genevieve Nic Aoidh (@what_the_earth) July 24, 2019
Curtis even told Maura that Jordan was BRAVE to confess his feelings to India. Why does anyone go to him for advice, honestly? His behaviour with Amy alone should have sent up red flares.
28-year-old Anna fumed at Curtis for his advice to Jordan last night, saying: "I just don't know if you are a good person really, because good people don't move like that.
"You move like you're such a good person and you're not. A good person would never say to anybody to do that to their other half," she continued.
"Do you not care about me a little bit? I have been living with you for the past two months, you obviously don't care about me. You're a narcissist, that's my opinion of you." YES BISH.
Curtis gets away with so much shit. He literally condones all the boys trashy behaviour all whilst trying to play the perfect gent character. GET HIM OUT #loveisland
After hearing Anna’s comments, Curtis’ younger bother, Strictly Come Dancing star AJ Pritchard took to Twitter to leap to his defence.
The 24-year-old seemed to suggest that Anna did not truly understand the meaning of the word. He wrote: “Does Anna know the definition of narcissistic?
"Narcissist: Having or showing an excessive interest in or admiration of oneself and one's physical appearance. #loveisland @loveisland.” Shadier than a palm tree.
Does Anna know the Definition of / narcissistic
Learn to pronounce
adjective
having or showing an excessive interest in or admiration of oneself and one's physical appearance. #loveisand@LoveIsland
Maura Higgins also quizzed Curtis on the advice he gave out. saying; “So in this situation, if I was your girlfriend, you would do the same thing?”
"I don’t know what I’d do in that situation,” Curtis replied. “Oh wow,” Maura said, as she gets up to walk away from him, adding: “That’s great, that’s great”. The man needs to find the door.
What do you think, are you team Pritchard Bros or Team Anna/The Rest of the World?
Remember when Michael and Yewande were coupled up when Love Island first began, albeit reluctantly? And they became pally and supportive of one another? Before the devil took Michael's soul?
Well, the former duo live streamed their hilarious reactions to the drama between Jordan and Anna, which absolutely exploded in the villa over the last two nights.
Love Island viewers were left in total shock as Jordan decided to pull India for a chat to confess his feelings for her, without telling Anna first. The same Anna who happens to be his girlfriend…
The cheeky model was exposed when Curtis told his plan to Maura, who went straight to Anna to warn her of what was going on behind her back.
Curtis didn't come out of the whole debacle looking squeaky clean, seeing as he had advised Jordan to pull India aside first instead of talking to Anna.
Probably because he knew India would turn Jordan down and then he'd 'settle' for Anna, crawling back to his poor girlfriend. He tried to gaslight Anna completely, who was having none of it.
Yanno what’s scary? Jordan is a COMPLETELY different person from 3 days ago when he brought Anna a tea telling her he’d be there for her through everything inside and outside.. and now, he’s an entirely different person… HOW is it possible? #LoveIsland
Everyone was shooketh by Jordan's dramatic character change, which also occurred with Danny Williams and villa villain Michael Griffiths. The spirit of the fuckboy lives on, it seems.
The girls charged in behind Anna, with Jordan stuck (rightfully) on his own… except for Curtis Pritchard. Both Jordan and Anna as well as Harley and Chris were dumped from the island last night.
Michael Griffiths and Yewande Biala were live-streaming their responses to the drama unfolding, and it was entertaining as f*ck:
Both former Islanders were left in complete disbelief at Jordan's appalling behaviour, with Michael saying; "Everyone thought I f**ked up but… oooh." We still think you f**ked up, Michael. For the record.
Yewande took a sly dig at the Liverpudlian firefighter, for treating Amber in a terrible manner, explaining that boys simply can't keep it in their trousers when new women enter the villa.
They claim to be happy with their partner, but then constantly seek an upgrade and assume they can do better;
ITV is set to air two seasons per year of Love Island, as the broadcaster looks to tackle a five percent fall in total advertising revenue by adding a winter edition of the hit reality TV show.
From 2020, an additional series will air during the British winter, with the original summer series continuing to be filmed in Europe.
The first season of the winter show will be shot in South Africa, so a few safari challenges might not go amiss. Love Island remains to be the most watched programme of the year for adults aged 16 to 34 across any channel.
The show hit new heights in its fifth series this summer, and recently broke an astonishing six million viewer barrier for the first time, according to The Guardian.
ITV’s chief executive, Carolyn McCall, credited the show for saving their drop in advertising revenue;
“ITV delivered another good viewing performance in the first half of the year,” McCall said.
“Online revenues grew strongly, up 18 percent, despite tough comparatives, with Love Island providing a strong finish to the half. This was reflected in better than expected total advertising revenue.”
Currently the show enjoys over five million viewers watching per episode, and is commercial gold for the broadcaster. Uber Eats pays five million pounds alone to sponsor the show.
A dozen commercial partners were also involved in the 2018 series, spanning brand licensing, podcast sponsors, product placement, in-store branding and exclusive product lines and merchandise.
Paul Mortimer, head of digital channels at ITV, said; "Love Island has proven yet again to be the perfect format that engages younger audiences,”
“In response to this viewer appetite, a new batch of young singletons will deliver some highly anticipated post-Christmas romance and drama from our new and luxurious location.”
The Love Island Instagram account has over three million followers, with the show creating over two billion impressions on Twitter so far this year.
Love Island will be back in an all new location of South Africa in early 2020, with the first series of the year bringing the sun to audiences from a brand new villa.
Angela Jain, Managing Director ITV Studios Entertainment said; "2020 is going to have even more love than before."
