Earlier this year, 47 celebrities were told by the Federal Trade Commission that they needed to maintain a higher level of transparency when it comes to who is paying for those #spon Instagram posts.

However, following on from this controversy, a new report has claimed that a massive 93 per cent of celebrity social endorsements from the past month actually violate FTC guidelines.

Any Instagram post that acts as an advertisement must feature #ad or #sponsored somewhere in the caption that is plain to see – i.e not at the very end so that Instagram cuts it off.

The FTC also insist that tagging the brand or company that has paid for the post does not count as proper disclosure.

According to Cosmopolitan, the study, carried out by MediaKix, looked at Instagram's top 50 celebrity and influencer accounts and found that just 7 per cent of 2,200 posts were with compliant FTC regulations.

Instagrammers who are involved in long-term partnerships with brands are also expected to abide by the same rules.

Many of the celebs who were originally contacted by the FTC have since deleted the posts in question, however, as a result of the controversy, Instagram will now add a new “paid partnership with” sub-header (much like the example above) to sponsored post and stories in order to avoid any further confusion.

With the world’s top designers fighting to dress her for even the most minute of occasions, Kendall Jenner’s 21st birthday party attire was bound to grab a few headlines.

But when the Victoria’s Secret model stepped out in a replica of the dress worn by Paris Hilton to mark her big day back in 2002, she caught everyone’s attention.

While the KUWTK star was quick to acknowledge the similarities between the outfits with her “vintage Paris Hilton vibes” Instagram post, until now no one knew how the heiress felt about Kendall’s update.

Thankfully, the Simple Life star has since proved herself a true believer of the phrase “imitation is the sincerest form of flattery”, as she recently told Grazia that she was delighted Kendall chose to wear the eye-catching number.

“I was talking to her mum and then all of a sudden this gorgeous, glittering birthday girl walked in and as soon as I saw the dress I was like, ‘Oh my god that is the exact same dress that I wore to my 21st birthday, that Julien Macdonald,’ recounted Paris.

“[Kendall] was like ‘I know it’s not Julien Macdonald but I was obsessed with your dress so I sent the photos to the designer and had him basically copy your dress’ and I was like, ‘It looks so good on you!’”

“And she was like, ‘Thank you I just thought it was the perfect birthday dress.’  So yeah, I was really flattered and I thought she looked stunning and I thought ‘It is the perfect birthday dress’ especially when you’re turning 21!”

“It was really nice to see her wearing that and she looked gorgeous.  We had a fun talk about it.  It was cute I saw on her Instagram she wrote ‘Paris Hilton vibes’ with a picture of the dress and I thought that was really sweet.”

Happy Birthday @KrisJenner!  Sending you lots of love on your special day beautiful #BirthdayGirl!

It has long been said that blondes have more fun than their dark haired companions but as Michelle Keegan proved at Thursday’s Choose Love ball, blonde simply does not work on everyone.

Many of the world’s best known women have given in to the temptations of the bleach bottle but as the likes of Victoria Beckham and Angelina Jolie have proved, sometimes it is best to have your fun and then quickly retreat back to the dark side.

Here are some of our favourite stars who learned hard and fast that blonde just wasn’t for them.

Anne Hathaway: The Alice in Wonderland star's beautiful bone structure means she can work it long and she can work it short but no amount of jawline perfection would enable Anne to pull off blonde.

Kim Kardashian: With their Armenian skin tones the Kardashian girls were born to be brunette, but the hasn't stopped Kim for bleaching her hair.  Last year the reality star shocked everyone when she stepped out with peroxide blonde locks but thankfully she has spent most of her time since with more natural looking tones.

Jessica Biel: Justin Timberlake's BAE gave blonde a go back in 2008 but quickly retreated back to her brunette locks.  Since then she has dabbled safely with blonde highlights to create variation without taking the look to the extreme.

Victoria Beckham: Posh Spice might be a major style icon these days but it's unlikely she would have ever reached that status if she had held onto her bright blonde bob.

Angelina Jolie: Today Angelina is one of the most consistently stylish stars on the red carpet, but back in the late 90's the actress did play around with a much fairer look.  The star previously revealed to a German magazine that she was actually dark blonde as a child but her mother began dying her hair dark when she was around four years old.

Jennifer Love Hewitt: I Know What You Did Last Summer star Jennifer Love Hewitt had a seriously dodgy blonde experience back in 2014 when she debuted honey toned hues which darkened towards the end of her hair.  Thankfully the star has since realised her mistake and has transitioned back to being a full time brunette.

Tulisa: Troubled singer Tulisa has had some major style-based highs and lows but her 2012 blonde experience was most definitely among the lows.  The star's yellow locks brought her look right into the tacky zone she has since tried hard to avoid.

Jessica Alba: Over the years the hair of actress and model Jessica Alba has gone through a series of brunette to blonde experiments including all over blonde with bangs in 2005, rooty blonde in 2012 and now back to brown for 2016.

Keira Knightley: Pirates of the Caribbean actress Keira Knightly tried blonde in 2006 but quickly went back to her brunette roots.  Since then the star has kept in line with her natural shade and has changed her look by cut rather than colour.

We tend to assume that celebrities have always been rich and famous (they were born that way, right?).

But no, a few stars weren't always as glamorous as they are today. In fact, most of Hollywood's elite worked normal jobs, just like the rest of us, at some stage.

Here, SHEmazing! rounds up our favourite 'before they were famous' gigs (and just wait until you see where Madonna worked…):

Brad Pitt

Brad worked in a fast food restaurant before he hit the big time. But it gets worse, he had to dance around in a chicken suit daily. Ouch.

Kim Kardashian

Before she shot to fame with Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kim used to clear out celebrities wardrobes and sell all of the unwanted clothes on eBay for her clients. She even worked as Paris Hilton's personal assistant for a while.

Johnny Depp

Mr. Depp sold pens by phone as a living before he pursued his dreams of becoming an actor.

Rod Stewart

Before he became a music legend, Rod Stewart worked as a grave digger. We're sure that was kind of scary!

Madonna

Queen Madge used to work at Dunkin' Donuts in New York's Time Square back in the day. She reportedly got fired for squirting jam all over a customer!

Gerard Butler

Before he became a movie hunk, Gerard had his heart set on becoming a lawyer. We think we prefer him acting though!

Sandra Bullock

Before winning Oscars and floating around in on-screen space, Sandra worked as a waitress and bartender in New York in the 1980s.

Jon Bon Jovi

The rocker used to help his cousin in a school where he was a janitor. While he worked he recorded his music which eventually led to his stardom.

Rachel McAdams

Rachel used to work in McDonalds before she became a hot shot actress. The beauty stuck three whole years working there before she quit.

Harrison Ford

Before he became Mr Indiana Jones, Harrison Ford worked as a carpenter in LA.

Jennifer Aniston

The Friends beauty used to work as a telemarketer during the day and a waitress at night to pay for acting classes. And we're so glad she did.

Hugh Grant

Hugh studied art history before he shot to fame. He abandoned his doctorate degree so he could pursue his dreams of acting. Bold move, Hugh, bold move.

When we see celebrities all dolled up on the red carpet or out and about during the day, we just expect them to have an army of make-up artists behind them to perfect the glam. However, this is in fact not the case for every celebrity. Here are five celebrities who do their own make-up and it will definitely surprise you.

1.  Blake Lively
Blake has previously said: "I like doing my own make-up and hair for events. I think it's fun." Okay, so she's just naturally flawless then…

2. Kate Middleton
So remember when Kate looked super gorgeous on her wedding day? There wasn't any royal help behind that, she actually did her make-up herself.

3. Cheryl Fernandez- Versini
The singer has said: "I've lived with this face for 31 years, so I know it better than anybody!" Hmmm we're not sure if we're convinced just yet…

4. Taylor Swift
We all have a blank space in our daily beauty routine without her make-up tips. Tay, pleeeease.

5. Shakira
The singer has said the reason for doing her own make-up is: "Because I'm good, I'm cheap, I'm fast." Nice logic, Shakira.

Famous folk always seem to be dropping weight and toning up in the blink-of-an-eye. And while us mere mortals probably can't afford an army of personal trainers, dietitians, private chefs and detox retreats like they can, we can still learn a few valuable weight-loss lessons from their success stories.

Here, we round up five celebrities who are looking better than ever, and reveal the secrets, tips and tricks behind their image overhauls…

Khloe Kardashian
The reality TV star looks as gorgeous as ever since losing weight and water was an important factor. Khloe claims she drinks 5 litres a day and is encouraging her younger sisters to do the same. Khloe said: "I go to a trainer five times a week, and on the weekends, I do cardio or whatever I want to do."

She added: "I kind of eat what I want, but in portion control, which I never knew before."

Sam Smith
Sam managed to drop 14lbs in 14 days with the help of Amelia Freer's book Eat. Nourish. Glow.

Freer has said: “It’s very nice for me to see the results that I do get with my clients.

She continued: “Usually for people who have that weight to lose it can happen quite dramatically, quite quickly. But it’s absolutely done safely, nothing faddy or starvation or deprivation happening here,”

Freer tells clients the importance of making their meals from scratch and putting a lot of natural, fresh produce into their diet.

Charlotte Crosby
One of the famous Geordie Shore weight loss success stories, Charlotte dropped an astonishing 2-and-a-half stone, going from a size 16 to a size 6.

Charlotte has opened up about the secrets to her weight loss, saying: "I just eat healthy and I don't over-indulge like I used to."

"I try and do my DVD at least four times a week and I see my personal trainer maybe once a week if I'm not too busy," she said.

Charlotte admits she still loves her McDonald's on cheat days but doesn't over-eat anymore.

Charlotte's fitness DVD 3 Minute Belly Blitz is available now.

Snooki
Snooki dropped down to 99 pounds in November, less than two months after giving birth. 99 pounds is a healthy weight for the petite 4'8" Jersey Shore star.

Her trainer previously opened up and said that she was decreasing her carbs and overall calorie intake. She was also spending a lot of time in the gym.

He explained: "We're also doing plyometrics, cardio, etc. Right now it's all really geared for weight loss, then she wants to focus on lean muscle mass once she's married."

Michelle Keegan
Michelle definitely has one of the most desirable figures going, and it appears a lot of it is thanks to the SoulMateFood delivery service. This allows you to create your own healthy menus which are then delivered to your front door. The 6-day meal plan costs £150.

Michelle also opened up about the gym: "I try and go to the gym as much as I can".

"It could be three times a week or not at all one week, but I don't punish myself if I don't go," she added.

We’re jealous of celebs for many reasons – all their money, mostly, but also their make-up. Here we have chosen out biggest celebrity inspirations for each part of the make-up routine. Their make-up are what we aspire to on a Saturday night!

First off – foundation:
It’s got to be Emma Stone. She really knows how to perfect that ‘I’m wearing foundation but I don’t look like I’m wearing foundation’ thing. She’s pale too, so her flawless finish is within reach for us Irish gals, which is always good. Her make-up artist says she uses Chanel’s Perfection Lumière Velvet foundation – so if you’re looking for a way to spend some of your hard earned cash, then there you have it!

Next – the contour
Well we couldn’t not choose Kim K, now could we? She’s almost as famous for her expert contouring as she is for that sex tape. She even showed fans how she managed it. It’s all about light and shade people. Light and shade.

Eye envy
So this SHEmazing! writer may have a slight obsession with P!nk, but she does rock some pretty cool eye make-up from time to time. Our teenage selves went through so much eyeliner trying to perfect this cat eye look. Now, we have resigned ourselves to the fact that we will always just end up looking like we’ve been punched in both eyes. Someday, maybe!

Lovely lips
Rita Ora really knows how to rock a red lip! Apparently she uses Diptique lip balm to keep her lips soft, lines them with MAC Red lip pencil, and then fills it all in with MAC Red Lipstick and MAC Lip Pigment in crimson.

Brow beauty
Not happy with nabbing Ryan Gosling all to herself, Eva Mendez is also the proud owner of the best eyebrows in tinsel town. Check out that arch! Now THERE is a girl who didn’t over pluck in high school!

It was this day, August 26th, 94 years ago that the 19TH Amendment of the US Constitution gave women the right to vote, which is why today is officially Women’s Equality Day!

While women still don’t have it as good as men in some ways (the gender pay gap in Ireland is 13.9%), things have come a long way since the days of having to quit your job once you got married.

Some of our celebrity friends feel very strongly on the matter too, and for the day that’s in it, here are some of our favourite celeb quotes about feminism!

Ellen Page
“I call myself a feminist when people ask me if I am, and of course I am ‘cause it’s about equality, so I hope everyone is. You know you’re working in a patriarchal society when the word feminist has a weird connotation.”

Julianne Moore
“At one point, ‘feminist’ became a pejorative term. How did that happen? If you’re a feminist, you’re basically saying you’re a humanist.”

Beyoncé
“We need to reshape our own perception of how we view ourselves. We have to step up as women and take the lead.”

Lena Dunham
“So many women have come to this idea of it being anti-male and not able to connect with the opposite sex – but what feminism is about is equality and human rights.”

Kate Nash
“Feminism is not a dirty word. It does not mean you hate men, it does not mean you hate girls that have nice legs and a tan, and it does not mean you are a ‘bitch’ or ‘dyke’; it means you believe in equality.”

Caitlin Moran
“Do you have a vagina? And do you want to be in charge of it? If you said ‘yes’ to both, then congratulations – you’re a feminist!”

Zooey Deschanel
“I’m just being myself. There is not an ounce of me that believes any of that crap that they say. We can’t be feminine and be feminists and be successful? I want to be a f**king feminist and wear a f**king Peter Pan collar. So f**king what?”

John Legend
“All men should be feminists. If men care about women’s rights, the world will be a better place.”
