Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother have officially been axed by Channel 5. 

The iconic reality TV shows changed the TV landscape when the first season aired in the year 2000 on Channel 4. 

Channel 5 picked up the show in 2011, where it has remained until the final season – they tweeted their 153,000 followers: 'It's time for this game to end. The final series of Big Brother starts tonight at 9pm.'

Rylan Clark Neal also shared with his 1.5million followers: 'After six years working on one of the most iconic shows on television I’m saddened to hear the news Big Brother isn’t returning.'

'It has been the biggest privilege being a housemate, a winner and a host on my favourite show on the television.'

'I hope one day Big Brother will return but my focus now, as with the rest of the team, is to make our last series the best yet.'

The show has faced major criticism in its 18-year run, but has always been popular among it's viewers.

However, with rival show's like Love Island to compete with, Big Brother has seen a steady decline in ratings over the past few years.

Last summer's launch drew an average of 2.2 million viewers – 200,000 less than the previous year.

Both the civilian and celebrity versions have had huge success, relaunching the careers of faded stars and catapulting nobodies into the limelight. 

 Any bets the series starting tonight will be as outrageous as ever.

We were elated when the handsome and genuine 'good guy', Ryan Thomas, was crowned the winner of this year’s Celebrity Big Brother.

This season, as always, was packed with heightened drama, especially after the Roxanne Pallett scandal.

The only thing that got the Coronation Street star through the whole ordeal was the love and support of his family.

So, when the CBB winner finally got to return home to see his family, he was overjoyed.

Ryan shared a heartwarming video of him picking up his daughter from school for the first time in weeks.

Little Scarlett is overwhelmed when she sees her father outside her school. She throws down her backpack and runs to him, shouting happily: “Daddy, daddy, daddy!”

Wiping away tears, Ryan embraces his nine-year-old in a bear hug and refuses to let go.

The two cling to each other with so much love, unable to stand how much they have missed their special father-daughter bond.

Commenting on the emotional reunion, Ryan writes “complete” with a heart beside it. During his time away, the dad has felt as if a part of him was missing.

The former Corrie actor also posted an adorable photo of his daughter smiling down at his baby niece, Elsie Rose.

He could not believe how much his little niece had grown in the time he had been gone.

We are so happy that Ryan is finally reunited with his family, and we can't even with how cute this doting dad is.

Ryan Thomas walked away from the Celebrity Big Brother House a winner, but his time there was marred by controversy. 

Sitting down on The Jeremy Vine Show, the former Coronation Street star was extremely humble and forgiving towards Roxanne Pallett.

'I’ve not seen any of that back,' he told the talk show host. 

He described how the incident 'caught us all by surprise, especially myself.'

'That house, when something like that happens, you can become very isolated. As it unravelled it was just nice to have your fellow housemates supporting you.'

In a charitable move, Ryan explained that he felt Roxanne has been through a lot, but that he would not be making it a priority to speak with her. 

'Big Brother makes headlines and sometimes for the wrong reasons and I appreciate Roxanne’s apology,' he said. 

It takes a very big person to forgive someone after something like that – we can only commend Ryan for his positive outlook.

Ryan Thomas has been on an emotional roller-coaster during his role on Celebrity Big Brother.

The Coronation Street star was recently accused of punching housemate Roxanne Pallett.

Even though the allegations were proved untrue, the father was worried about what the incident had done to his reputation.

But he was reassured with a heartfelt letter from his brother Scott saying: “You have shown the nation how amazing you are and carried yourself so well.

“You have absolutely nothing to worry about. Everyone has seen the real you.”

The English actor broke down in tears when he heard the comforting words.

He has had a tough time away from family in the closed-off house, especially missing his daughter Scarlett and nephew Teddy.

On the dad’s instagram, his close friend and social media manager shared an adorable photo of Ryan and his nephew.

The caption reads: “I know Ryan will be so sad he’s missing Teddy’s 4th bday! But not long now! Happy b-day super ted, love uncle ry ry”.

Ryan and his nephew have such a sweet bond, and there is no doubt that he is missing his little nephew during his time in the CBB house.

We are glad that the dad was able to hear how his family is doing from Scott’s letter and wish him the best of luck as he continues in the reality competition.

We seem to have something in our eye after Ryan Thomas' letter from home.

Celebrity Big Brother has made us weak as Ryan couldn't get past the first three sentences of the letter, before breaking down into tears.

Sally Morgan read out the tearjerker which was written by his brother, Scott.

His younger brother offered Ryan some reassurance over recent assault accusations by the former housemate, Roxanne.

"I know you’ve been out of your comfort zone, but trust me it’s been well worth it. You’ve shown the nation just how amazing you really are."

"You have absolutely nothing to worry about. Everyone has seen the real you," it added.

The letter also offered some cute relief for the actor, saying how much his daughter Scarlett had been missing him – cute! 

"Scarlett is missing her daddy so so much, and we have been showing her some clips from your challenges…She smiles from ear to ear seeing her daddy having so much fun," Sally read.

The letter also revealed that Ryan's girlfriend, former TOWIE star, Lucy Mecklenburgh was right behind him, supporting him every step of the way.

"Lucy is more than proud of you and she is so happy everyone gets to see the Ryan she knows and loves. Honestly bro, just keep being you and keep shining." 

It's fair to say poor Ryan was a right state after hearing all the kind words of encouragement.

But it seemed that the letter had us all in pieces, as people took to Twitter to shed a collective tear over the letter. 

Roxanne has publicly apologised to Ryan and his family for the claim she made.

The former Celebrity Big Brother housemate stated that she had "got it wrong."

After a tough time, here is hoping that things only get better for Ryan.

Celebrity Big Brother finally lands on our screens courtesy of Channel 5 tomorrow night – and we're pretty damn excited. 

The house has finally been revealed to the public, and frankly, it's pretty gorge. 

The house has an 'Eye of the Storm' theme, with neon accents and tropical prints abound. 

The Bedroom: 

Using a very trendy combo of millennial pink and soothing blue, the bedroom looks more like the inside of a boutique hotel than a reality show.

This year, the contestants can relax and get glam in a very luxe, pink velvet environment.

We have got the cast for the upcoming, 2018 Celebrity Big Brother, and we cannot wait for the new season to start.

So far, rumours have circled pegging Coronation Street’s Ryan Thomas, Katie Price’s husband Kieran Hayler and psychic Sally Morgan as the new season’s cast.

It seems the soap opera theme is trending as ex-Emmerdale star Roxanne Pallett recently signed on for the show, and she didn’t come cheap.

According to Daily Star, the reality show has been trying to sign the actress for a while, and this year she agreed to appear on the series for £750,000.

Before the soap star’s price was released, the highest paid actor was Ryan Thomas, who signed onto the show for a total of £500,000, according to Closer.

Since Roxanne’s final episode with Emmerdale in 2009, she has appeared on Dancing on Ice, Waterloo Road, and Casualty.

The former ITV soap actress has also made her stage debut in several musicals including The Rocky Horror Show and The Wedding Singer.

However, her career was halted last month when Roxanne suffered injuries from a traumatic car crash, resulting in two sprained wrists, severe bruising, and a concussion.

The Independent reported that the actress was racing her Minster FM co-host Ben Fry when she slammed into a concrete wall at 40mph.

But she refused to let anxieties from the accident put her life on hold.

“I’m bruised but blessed,” she announced, and thanked her fiancée Lee Walton for being her “rock”.

Roxanne surprised us all last week when she revealed that Lee had proposed to her just one week after the couple began dating.

With no ring in hand, the pair decided to get matching tattoo wedding bands until he saved up enough for a proper ring, reported The Daily Mirror.

He dropped to one knee (again) with a sparkling diamond after her terrifying car crash.

Their love story seems fated, so much so that it could have been written for Emmerdale. #couplegoals

Needless to say, Roxanne has been through a lot this year and is excited for her CBB debut, and probably the paycheck too.

The new season of Celebrity Big Brother will begin this Thursday at 9pm, so stay tuned for some gossip and drama in the TV house.

As the viewing public geared up for the latest series of Celebrity Big Brother, there seemed to exist a general consensus that as contestants go, Girls Aloud member, Sarah Harding, was up there with some of the most high-profile.

Bearing that in mind, it's perhaps no surprise that the singer's time in the house has been under serious scrutiny from fans of the show, and it's fair to say that the former popstar has garnered her fair share of headlines in a relatively short period of time.

The latest controversy to surround Sarah is the suggestion that she 'slut-shamed' Fifth Harmony in a conversation with fellow housemate, Chad Johnson.

Claiming that the Work From Home singers 'wear next to nothing' on account of the fact 'sex sells', the 35-year-old came in for a barrage of criticism from fans of the US girl band.

And now Instagram is fairly sure that Sarah's former band mate, Nicola Roberts, has shaded the Celebrity Big Brother contestant in a recent social media post.

Sporting a cap emblazoned with the caption 'Women in Music Are Dangerously Underestimated', Nicola added her own message, writing: "And that's why we have to support each other."

Nicola's timing with her post provided her followers with ample opportunity to suggest that the 31-year-old was aiming her message at her former bandmate.

"Good for you Nicola for being against slut shaming unlike Sarah who slut shamed on TV," wrote one of Nicola's followers.

"Yes women empowerment," added another. "No slut shaming here."

However, not everyone is impressed by Nicola's post, with some fans of the singer berating her for not showing Sarah more support during her stint on the controversial reality show.

"This is insensitive, you should be supporting Sarah," wrote one while another added: "No support for Sarah.. Good call NOT… Team Sarah."

We wonder if Cheryl will throw her a like…

Famous YouTuber Trisha Paytas left the Celebrity Big Brother house last night voluntarily in a surprise move. 

Hours later, the content creator was online, and upoloaded a video entitled Why I Regret Leaving Celebrity Big Brother. 

However soon after, Trisha uploaded another video in which her opinions had clearly changed. 

Trish was appalled by the 'fake ass people' in the house.

She alsoaccused fellow house mate Paul of body shaming. 

'Basically body-shaming me. Saying I walk and I have my ass hanging out and I walk around with my legs showing.'

'Meanwhile, Chad does it and every single girl does bikinis but because he looks at me and I have all this body hanging out he's like disgusted by it.'

She also took a swipe at ex Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding, and insinuated that she has 'inside information' on her.

She also accused Celebrity Big Brother of catering towards Sarah through 'shady' manoeuvres.

Trish also took to Twitter to threaten the show with further exposure. 

Trish claims to have a big secret about CBB that 'they won't keep silent.' 

She also made multiple digs at the level of fame, or lack thereof, that the current contestants have.

Trisha will appear on tonight's episode of CBB, so we have one more chance to watch one of the most explosive housemates in recent CBB history.

So, for those of you who don't know; former Girls Aloud member, Sarah Harding, is currently ensconced within the four walls of the Celebrity Big Brother house.

And when compared to previous Celebrity Big Brother contestants, Sarah has a relatively high profile, so it's no real surprise that Twitter has devoted time to analysing the singer's every move since she made her grand entrance this week.

What was it like being in Girls Aloud?  Has she had surgery? And, perhaps most importantly, does she hate Cheryl?

Irish model turned influencer Rosanna Davison is rumoured to be entering the Celebrity Big Brother house.

According to an exclusive report from The Sun, the former Miss World will be joining the ranks of CBB.

The full list of  CBB contestants have been revealed by the tabloid, and also includes Made in Chelsea’s Sam Thompson and Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding.

US Youtuber Trisha Paytas and glamour model Jemma Lucy are also rumoured to be heading in. 

Rosanna has not made any indications on her social media regarding CBB, but the show is notoriously tight lipped about their contestants in the run up to the show. 

The gorgeous model will be joined by Paul Danan, Jordan Davies, Helen Lederer, Derek Acorah, Amelia Lily, Dawn Ward, Brandy Glanville, Shaun Williamson, Chad Johnson, Marissa Jade, and Gogglebox's Sandi Bogle. 

If the reports are true, we'll be rooting for Rosanna to win the prize!

Well, it looks like we're in for a dramatic Celebrity Big Brother this year.

Last Friday, Emma Willis, who presents the show, revealed that the line up has been confirmed, and even though 80s popstar Sinitta has already quit, it looks like we'll be in for an explosive series.

According to The Daily Star on Sunday, the line up is as follows:

  • Pete Wicks of TOWIE fame

  • Amelia Lily from The X Factor

  • Sandi Bolge who recently quit Gogglebox

  • Jucy Lucy from Ex on the Beach

  • Brandi Glanville from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

  • Nathan Henry from Geordie Shore

  • Rodrigo Alves who is known as 'the human Ken doll'

If the leaked list is to be believed, we're sure that a few of these people will clash heads.

Pete's on/off girlfriend Megan McKenna took part in the show in 2016, and produced some pretty tense scenes in the house.

We're looking forward to seeing Sandi join CBB, and since her former co-star Scarlett Moffatt won I'm A Celeb, we're hoping the budding singer does just as well on this series.
