If you want a bit of a junk food binge, then say hello to Twix Spread.

It's safe to say that we try to mix everything together these days; Snickers mixed with cookies, Mars mixed with brownies… But, now Twix has already mixed it all up for us so you can put it on your bread, toast, pancakes, waffles.. you get the picture.

For now it's only available in the UK (crying here) but we're hoping it'll come over to our shores pretty soon.

In fact, the new product, courtesy of parent company Mars Drinks and Treats, isn't the only delicious spread to hit the market over there.

It's created a whole load of spreads based on Milky Way, Mars Bars, Maltesers and Bounty bars – ALL of our favourites.

We just need them here. Now

Yes, say what you want about kindness and decency and all that, but we still maintain that chocolate is NOT for sharing.

Especially Easter chocolate, which is why we're very pleased indeed with Lindt's latest offering.

If your Easter Sunday isn't complete without beheading (and be-footing) a Lindt bunny, then be sure to safeguard your stash this year by having it personalised.

Starting from today, March 7, Brown Thomas is offering a personalisation service with the purchase of all 200g Lindt bunnies (€6).

The name or word of your choice will be printed in Lindt's signature gold font on the bunny's red ribbon. Adorable.

You can keep it above board, like Glenda and Elisha, or you can write something more to-the-point like GET YOUR DIRTY HANDS OFF THIS, YOU SOULLESS THIEF.*

Find out more – and purchase your personalised bunny – on the Living Floor, Level 3, Brown Thomas Dublin.

*You probably can't write that.

Everyone and their granny is gifted a big bar of Tolberone at Christmas and birthdays, so it's safe to say we've all struggled with breaking and eating it.

The chocolate ends up ALL OVER your hands, and if worse comes to worse, the pieces just break everywhere – and that's not fun.

So, when we came across genius Kaitlin Moore showing us the REAL way to eat Tolberone, let's just say we were dumbfounded.

How did we all make something so easy, so difficult?

If you want to know the right way, that won't get smudges of chocolate all over your hands, here's Kaitlin's video:

It's been nearly 50 years since the original ad of the Milk Tray man aired in 1968, and now Cadbury's has found a new handsome guy to take on the roll.

After the chocolate company launched the search last year to find a new hunky fellow, a fireman from Liverpool has won the role.

Patrick McBride fought off more than 20,000 hopefuls by impressing the judges with witty banter and performing a fireman's rescue lift.

The 39-year-old was so determined to clinch the title that he wore his full firefighing uniform to the London auditions.

Patrick also has a history of modelling and TV ad work, as well as a 14-year career in the Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service – so it's safe to say he ticked all the boxes.

"My wife's so happy for me. She's made up. I think it will sink in when the billboards are up and the ads are on TV. I think she'll be pleased she's married to the Milk Tray man," said Patrick.

But, even though his wife will be happy, he's not too sure about his fellow firefighting buddies.

"I'd expect some playful banter… maybe the odd poster up. Maybe they'll come to work wearing black polo necks."

We all love a good hot chocolate to cheer us up on cold winter days, but this no-bake hot chocolate cheesecake is something that will cheer us up for the entire week.

So simple and stuffed with marshmallows and cream, this Delish recipe will be the best hot chocolate you'll ever taste. Forget about the drinking kind.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups of heavy cream
  • 340g of softened cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 packs of hot chocolate mix
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • whipped cream

Method:

1. Whisk up your heavy cream until it forms stiff peaks. Then add the cream cheese and sugar and beat until completely smooth.

2. Fold in the hot chocolate mix and marshmallows. Pour the mixture into a tin lined with grease-proof paper and smooth over the top.

3. Cover with more mini marshmallows and cover in plastic wrap. Leave in the fridge until firm (3-4 hours) or ideally overnight.

Now pour over some whipped cream and tuck in to the best hot chocolate EVER.

Since New Year's day (so, since only two days ago), Richard Osman has been the head of the World Cup of Chocolate 2016, and he put together all the chocolate bars you can imagine to fiercely battle it out.

He took to Twitter, and much like the football World Cup, had group stages followed by knock-out rounds.

Altogether, 32 bars were entered, ranging from Twirl (last year's winner) to Bounty, to Kit Kat and Mars.

The odds were 2/1 for Dairy Milk so it was a clear winner, but now we can't wait for the crisps world cup Richard promised us last Easter.

It's fair to say that most of us have a very loving relationship with Nutella.

We slather it on our toast, put it in our smoothies and even bake delicious cakes with it.

But as we all know and love it, we bet you didn't know these eight weird facts about it:

1. We're pronouncing it ALL wrong

It's not pronounced Nut-Ella, folks. Nope, Nutella's official website ended the argument and told us it's pronounced New-Tell-Uh.

2. It was first made for 'intelligent housewives'

Yep, according to Nutella World, when it first launched in Italy in the 1950s, it was marketed towards 'intelligent housewives' as it was a cheap way to feed your family in the morning.

3. It's kinda responsible for a €21 BILLION empire

Maria Franca Fissolo and her family own the Ferrero Group who make Ferrero Rocher, Kinder Chocolates and Nutella. This puts their net worth at more than $23.4 billion (€21.2bn), which lands them at No. 32 on Forbe's 500 richest people in the world.

4. Cocoa rationing during WW2 is what led to the creation of Nutella

Pastry maker Pietro Ferrero mixed hazelnuts in with chocolate in order to stretch it out for longer during the second World War.

5. There are 97 hazelnuts in every jar

The BBC reports that Nutella buys 25 percent of the world's hazelnuts every year. And there's nearly 100 nuts in a 750g jar.

6. Deep-friend Nutella is a thing

And here's how to make it.

7. Nutella had a social network before Facebook even existed

It was called MyNutella.it, and it launched in April 2003. The 150,000 members would share their thoughts about Nutella and posted photos and artwork of the chocolate spread too.

8. A super fan created a World Nutella Day – and then got a Cease-And-Desist letter

Major fan girl, Sara Rosso decided to create World Nutella Day to celebrate the chocolately spread… but then received a Cease-And-Desist letter from the company.

Sara fought it though, and Nutella had to apologise for being so dramatic and thankfully, World Nutella Day lives on! It's Feb 5th, btw.

As far as food creations go, there has been a few weird ones in only this year alone. How about our pumpkin spice obsession? We mixed that with everything from chilli to fizzy drinks.

And what about the very recent chocolate and cherry sandwich? Now, that's one to get your head around (although it probably tastes FAB).

But now, the regular Kit Kat is after getting a major upgrade in Japan. The newest twist on the chocolate-wafer bar, is one we never saw coming: Kit Kat wrapped in edible gold leaf.

Nestle Japan has decided to celebrate reaching 1 million customers at Japan's Kit Kat chocolate factory (or chocolatory, as they like to call it), by offering the special gold Kit Kat, Inventor Spot has reported.

And the gold-covered chocolate bars are not only unique for their lavish surrounding, as only 500 of them will be released in individually wrapped portions (as in, you'll only be getting one half, or one 'finger', of the bar).

They will cost 2,016 yen (€15.42) but unfortunately, the luxury chocolate will only be available in Japan. Maybe next year they might grace our shores.

We are in support of pretty much anything festive these days. November is a month filled with the promise of tinsel, giant Christmas trees and matching jumpers for the whole family (including Rover the puppy).

We cannot wait to see what happens when December arrives.

However, a certain lunch item that is claiming to be exactly what we would expect when it comes to festive desserts has sent the internet into meltdown.

Tesco is selling an Everyday Value Chocolate and Cherry Mascarpone Christmas sandwich on cinnamon bread and no one seems to be able to deal with this news.

A picture of the new meal deal item was shared on Sh*t London’s Facebook page by Londoner Nic Branch who captioned the image: ‘More gold at Tesco’. Since then people have been taking serious issue with the sandwich.

‘Chocolate and cherry sandwiches? Has the world gone mad?’ asked Jane Craigie-Payne.

Others legitimately questioned the cherry content. Tesco seemed to be able to have a laugh about all the fuss:

Luckily, Metro were able to speak with someone who had actually tried the interesting foodie concoction. Seb Budd explained:

“The first few bites were actually OK. The cinnamon bread was a nice touch but after a few more mouthfuls I soon began to realise that this is the sort of sandwich you’d buy to tell someone you really don’t like them.”

Oh?

Seb must not be a mascarpone fan then, but we feel like this might be something that we need to taste-test for ourselves to be absolutely certain.

With the New York Times voting Irish chocolate as the BEST chocolate, it's not surprising other chocolate brands are trying to keep up.

Hershey's has recently revealed that they are changing its recipe and are now using real vanilla, instead of the artificial version "vanillin" (which sounds horrible just saying it).

According to Time, the company implemented the change a few weeks ago, with bags of the changed-chocolates hitting shelves right now.

Earlier this year, Hershey's company executives announced that they would be making a company-wide move to replace all artificial ingredients with those that are "easier to understand."

The chocolate company join a long line of food companies implementing a ban on artificial ingredients, including Campbell's and Kellogg's.
