Christmas

From One Direction, Rita Ora, Sam Smith and Bono to Sinead O'Connor, Ellie Goulding and Chris Martin – Band Aid 30 had quite the turnout!

Raising money for the Ebola crisis, some of the world's most famous faces turned up for Bob Geldof in London for the recording, and we must say it's brilliant!

The only person missing was Adele, but that's another story

Just when we had *almost* gotten over the tearfest that the beautiful John Lewis Christmas ad – there's another one to set us off!

This Sainbury's advert for the festive season is based on true events from one hundred years ago.

The short movie was made in association with The Royal British Legion and all profits made from the chocolate bar featured in the video and on sale in Sainsbury's stores will go towards the Legion.

Tissues at the ready, ladies…

Halloween is well and truly over, so now we can finally get into the Christmas spirit. And what better way than a trip to one of the many gorgeous markets dotted all over Europe.

Pick up a few trinkets, have a stroll around the town a glass of eggnog – or probably an Irish whiskey – in hand, and enjoy a few drinks in the snow as you soak up the atmosphere.

Stuck for ideas? Here are our top five markets to hit this winter.

Berlin, Germany

The home of the Christmas market, and delicious craft beer, Berlin is your one stop shop for everything festive. You should be able to pick up a fairly cheap Ryanair flight to the capital – or more likely just outside the city – but it will be worth it. You will find stalls selling scrumptious food, gorgeous jewellery and traditional festive decorations.

Brussels, Belgium

The Brussels Christmas market, Brussels' Winter Wonders, is only a quick flight away and is definitely a good contender if you don’t want to stray too far from home. Pick up a few pressies and enjoy live animations at the same time.

Lille, France

This little market will has plenty of food stalls, decorations, arts and crafts and the impressive Ferris Wheel located on the main square. Adding to the magic is the giant Christmas tree that is the main focus of the market.

Copenhagen, Denmark

Located at Tivoli Gardens, the Hans Christian Andersen Christmas fair will have you feeling like you just stepped into a fairytale.  Walk among the stalls which will be covered in hundreds of lights takeaway cup of hot chocolate in hand.

Galway Continental Market

Can’t afford to shop and pay for flights? Don’t worry, the Galway Christmas market is actually pretty incredible. Starting on Friday, 21st November, you can enjoy the live entertainment, drink German beers from the German Bierkeller and pick up a few pressies. We’re hoping for snow this year to make it that extra bit special.

Last night the SHEmazing! girls took over The Black Door on Harcourt Street to celebrate what has been an amazing year for us.

We were joined by friends and fans of the site who gathered to pop bottles of champagne, listen to great music, chat, laugh, sing Christmas tunes, and of course, be spoiled rotten by us. Obviously we had some amazing presents and prizes for everyone there – we just can’t resist!

The theme was I Can’t Believe It’s Not Christmas (because we just couldn’t wait until December) and the venue was packed with Christmas trees, presents, reindeer and sleighs –  and Santa even paid a visit.

Of course there was a photo booth and of course there were several hundred selfies posted online from the event, but here are some of the more respectable photos of the people we can truly call ‘shemazing’.

The Late Late Toy Show is undoubtedly one of Irish television’s highlights of the year, so the news we’re about to share will no doubt be very welcome to you all!

There will not be just one, but TWO Christmas Toy Shows this year.

Yes, you are reading that correctly.

The fine folk at TV3 have noticed just how bonkers the nation goes for Ryan Tubridy in a Christmas jumper, and have decided to produce their own version of the beloved show this coming festive season.

A double dose of toy show madness? We are beyond excited!

Not many details about the project have been revealed so far, except that the show will run for 90 minutes and will be broadcast live from the RDS on Friday, Nov 21st.

And who are they lining up to rival Ryan? Well, all we know so far is that it’s a well-known celebrity face.

Hmm. We can’t wait to find out more!

We can’t believe it – there is a Grumpy Cat movie on the way, and it’s coming out for Christmas!

What’s even better is that it’s not the kind of film you’d expect from an Internet meme sensation (i.e. totally ridiculous and over the top). It actually sounds good, and it even attempts to teach us some morals – like a proper Christmas feel-good flick!

The story is about how Grumpy Cat started out as a happy cat, but after spending most of her life in a pet shop, she grows grumpier each day.

However, when Chrystal comes along and realises she can hear Grumpy Cat talk, both their lives are transformed.

We imagine this will be funny as well as heart-warming. The perfect Christmas combination! And Lifetime have even released the first photo from the film – so exciting!

But this takes the biscuit.

One Twitter follower took the initiative and wrote to Oprah: “@oprah you look beautiful in that essence cover pic. WOW CAN I please have that dress? Cuz I know you won’t wear again lol love you”.

And the talk-show queen actually replied, saying YES!

Oprah wrote: “you’re right I won’t wear ever again contact my asst. and show her this tweet.”

The couture dress, pictured below in Essence magazine, arrived at her fan’s house a week later and she is now planning on wearing it to her wedding.

Lucky gal!

Hey Oprah, nice house … can we have it?

We know it isn’t Christmas anymore but we could all do with a bit of warm cheer on this wet and cold Tuesday in January and what better to warm our chilly hearts than true love?

This video shows a woman receiving a teddy bear for Christmas, but it’s not just any teddy bear.

Look at her face when she realises what she has actually been given – so sweet.
