Ed Sheeran granted a terminally ill girl one of her life’s wishes when she went to see him in concert.

Not only did Channan Petrides get to watch the Give Me Love singer do his thing on stage, Ed then invited her backstage so they could hang out after the show.

Channan, who suffers from cystic fibrosis, revealed how her “life is now complete” after getting to hang out with her favourite star.

Speaking to The Mirror, Ms Petrides said that “He was so lovely and genuine. He had a great sense of humour and was really easy to get on with.”

“He signed my programme and we took some selfies together. He smelt amazing.”

Channan has removed herself from the organ donor list so she can enjoy her time left to its fullest.

The 22-year-old explained on her Go Fund Me page that her next wish would be to go to The Brit Awards if it is at all possible.

“I would love to go to The Brit Awards next year and have the VIP experience of walking on the red carpet. I need everyone’s help to make this possible, much love x.”

A concert is being held to raise funds to help the survivors of the Berkeley balcony collapse.

A number of Irish acts will come together to play a gig at Dublin’s The Academy on July 23rd to raise money to go towards the students that have suffered life-altering injuries from the tragic incident last month.

The event will be hosted by Westlife’s Nicky Byrne. Performing acts include Jape, Dublin Gospel Choir, The Fontaines and many more.

The family of one survivor, 21-year-old Clodagh Cogley, earlier posted photos of the Trinity student in the rehabilitation centre where she is recovering from the fall.

They thanked the public for their support saying that, “The outpouring of support for Clodagh has been truly amazing and the donations to Clodagh’s fund so generous.”

Suffering from a broken spinal cord amongst many other injuries, Clodagh posted a touching message herself last month. She said, “The thing I’m taking from this tragedy is that life is short and I intend to honour those who died by living the happiest and most fulfilling life possible.

“Enjoy a good dance and the feeling of grass beneath your feet like it’s the last time because in this crazy world you never know when it might be.”

Tickets for The Academy gig are €25, with an option to donate extra funds. They are on sale from Ticketmaster tomorrow at 9am.

Taylor Swift fan Nicole Nic Cártaigh was left devastated yesterday when she was rushed to hospital and as a result missed her chance to see Taylor Swift perform at the 3 Arena.

The 19-year-old, who hails from Limerick, suffered a spinal cord injury last December, an accident which has left her paralysed from the waist down.

A Taylor Swift super-fan, she was due to attend the singer-songwriter's concert yesterday after her boyfriend, Aidan, managed to get them both tickets to the high-profile gig.

After Ashley’s accident, Ticketmaster had ensured the pair could change their tickets so that Ashley and Aidan to be in the wheelchair area.

When Ashley was rushed to hospital last night, her sister Nicole took to Facebook to see if there was any way she could make her sister’s dreams come true.

Nicole has written a post on the 3 Arena's Facebook page and is hoping that there might be some way for her sister to get her chance to meet Taylor before the singer departs from Ireland: she next brings her tour to the Canadian capital of Ottawa on July 6.

Ashley is a HUGE Taylor Swift fan, and considering Tay-Tay has a pretty admirable track-record when it comes to making her fans' dreams come true, we’ve all got our fingers and toes crossed that the young woman will be given the chance to meet her idol.

Taylor Swift is just a really good person.

She doesn’t just treat fans to impressive social media shout-outs, or donate serious cash to charities, she also likes to give away free tickets to her concert.

Someone going to her Dublin gig tonight just got the best present ever.

Stephanie is from South Africa. She was supposed to be at Hyde Park yesterday to see Taylor and her ultimate girl squad perform. However, disaster struck and her flight was delayed from Amsterdam.

She tweeted about her disappointment, naturally.

Not all hope was lost though, as Taylor, who has admitted to trolling her fans social media activities, saw the tweet. She responded as any good performer would.

So then, all Stephanie had to do was get herself to Dublin. Which is easier said than done. But, have no fear, because as we know anything that involves T Swifty immediately turns to gold.

Stephanie managed to convince British Airways to change her flight, with the help of some fake tears, and now she’s Dublin bound.

Taylor’s history of thanking her fans with big gestures does include actual Irish fans too though.

Suzie Dickinson from Meath was given the chance to meet the popstar in person when Taylor saw her attempts to make it to as many of her European tour dates as possible.

Talking to the Mirror Suzie said “Basically I put a picture of a map on Tumblr which showed my route for going to Taylor’s concerts. Taylor follows me on Tumblr so I was hoping that she’d see it.”

Taylor did in fact see it, and was invited to a very special meet and greet at her concert in Glasgow. Suzie said Taylor was dying to get a photo with her and the two chatted about the most important of things;

“We just talked about cats and Dublin and she wanted to get a photo with me.”

This is why Taylor is one of our favourite celebrities.

One poor concert-goer, and a childhood friend of Harry Styles, got shamed BAD when he went to the One Direction concert in Oslo, Norway.

Before beginning a song, Harry decided to tell the audience a little story about his friend Jack Robinson, who just happened to be in the crowd.

“I’m going to tell you a quick little story before we do the next song,” the 21-year-old announced. “When I was about 14-years-old, Jack Robinson stole my girlfriend.”

Luckily Harry didn’t seem too bitter about the incident as he laughed to the audience. “So if he’s still there at the end of the show, feel free – little kicks, little digs on the way out. Jack Robinson, love you, sir.”

While Jack took the embarrassing public statement well, laughing and shrugging it off, we just hope those loyal 1D fans didn’t give the poor guy too hard a time!  

We do have to wonder who their childhood sweetheart was… and if she thinks she made the right decision now!

Although, somehow we don’t think Harry is too beaten up over the incident as he has recently been spotted with Victoria’s Secret Angel, Sara Sampaio.

This is some SERIOUS Tay-Tay devotion!

We have all seen photos from Taylor’s concert in Philadelphia on Friday, when fans were surprised when BFF Cara Delevingne got up on stage.

But, what the crowds didn’t know was that just before the concert began, Taylor’s biggest fan of all was outside in the carpark getting hitched.

Oh yes, the engaged couple decided to dress up, gown and all, and say their “I do’s” while celebrating Taylor coming to town.

In an Instagram post, the blushing bride, Katy Harris, explained her love for both her fiancé, and of course, Taylor.

“If you know anything about me, it’s probably how I have been obsessed with Taylor since I first heard her in 2006,” Ms. Harris wrote.

“Chris has been very supportive and could even put most girls to shame going word for word on any of her albums (including deluxe editions).”

As if any more of Katy’s dreams couldn’t come true – the newlyweds were then invited back stage to meet the star herself.

The 25-year-old Shake it Off singer saw their Instagram post, and made their day by meeting them and giving the bride a big ole’ hug.

The new bride gushed over how it was the best day of her life saying, “Last night was a dream sequence.”

She continued, “Instagram, meet my new husband Chris and our new friend Taylor!!!!!! I have no words to express last night!! My two dreams came true!!!”

A big congrats to the newlyweds. This sounds like one hell of a… ehem, love story.

Yesterday she drew scores of fans to le Zénith – the Paris stadium where she performs this evening – for her sound-check, but this afternoon Ariana Grande has some well-deserved down-time before her big performance.

She posted a picture online of the Arc de Triomphe, while earlier this afternoon she also took to Instagram to offer fans a sneak-peak of her opulent hotel suite, decorated in a traditional French style.

And while she and her boyfriend of a year, Big Sean, may have parted ways last month, Ariana certainly isn't lonely: Toulouse, her adorable beagle-chihuahua mix puppy – one of her SIX dogs – is visible lounging on the bed with the superstar singer.

Childhood BFF Alex Luria, who has also joined her in the French capital, couldn’t resist posting an additional snap of Toulouse – complete with a princess crown.

Ariana jetted into from LA early yesterday morning to kick-off the second leg of her Honeymoon tour.

She’ll play two dates in Paris before moving on to Germany and Scandinavia. She has five concerts lined-up in the UK, but sadly won’t be visiting Ireland on this occasion.

Yesterday afternoon, the 21-year-old singer was spotted talking animatedly on her iPhone. She wore a short white skirt, and oversized grey wool jumper, and accessorised with a small white leather bag, and white-rimmed sunglasses. Her hair was styled in her signature ponytail, and she also wore diamond stud earrings.

Awww! We always knew that Ed Sheeran was a big softie at heart – and now there’s yet more proof.

The 24-year-old singer-songwriter was mid-way through a performance of his hit All Of The Stars in Austin, Texas this week when he noticed a man waving around a sign signalling his intentions for the evening. Being a decent sort of guy, Ed invited him and his unsuspecting girlfriend up on stage to join him.

Cue the man sharing a heart-warming speech with the audience, complete with glowing references to his other half – all peppered with plenty of Ed Sheeran nods too.

“Just Thinking Out Loud here,” he began, before adding that his girlfriend is “amazing” and “talented,” and “so beautiful, inside and out.”

 He then, you guessed it, got down on one knee and officially popped the question.

Thankfully, his emotional-wreck of a girlfriend (we would be too, frankly) said “yes!” – with Ed (bless him) cheering manically in the background, while simultaneously wiping away his own tears.

Mr Sheeran later took to Twitter to share the moment with his fans, admitting that he “welled up”.

We’re welling up right now, Ed.

It sounds like the Oscar for Best Performance should go to Miss Katy Perry!

The singer was hit by a lollipop at a recent concert, and her over-the-top dramatic reaction has gone viral.

Rather than ignoring the flying confectionery, Katy dropped to the ground dramatically and said: “I never knew I would go by lollipop” before saying: “I’ve been shot by a lollipop!”

She then gets up and has a very serious conversation with her fans about the disease known as “selfying”… It sounds as if a Katy Perry concert is one of the most surreal experiences a person can have!

She seems like a good sport though and certainly engages with her audience!

Trouble seems to follow this guy around.

Professor Green was at the Durham Student Union Welcome Ball recently when he was subjected to a bit of abuse from the crowd.

One drunk student stupidly decided to shout C**t at the rapper, whose real name is Stephen Manderson. And rather than letting the heavies deal with it, Millie Mackintosh’s husband walked over and gave him a slap in the face.

According to the college’s paper, The Tab, the rapper shouted to the crowd: “That’s what happens when you call me a c**t”

Now, while we certainly don’t condone the student for shouting profanities, violence is never the answer. 

However, the incident didn’t stop the rapper sending out the following tweet:

 

It's seems he's not all bad though – he went home and made Millie dinner (ordering in does count!)

Jay-Z was performing at this year’s Global Citizen Festival in Ney York City’s Central Park – and in true Jay-Z style, he had a trick up his sleeve!

To help him close his epic performance, he invited his wife, Beyoncé on-stage and the couple closed the show with epic performances of “Holy Grail” and “Forever Young”.

We’re not going to lie, if we were at a concert to see Jay-Z and then Beyoncé came out? We’re not sure we’d survive it to be honest.

That is one lucky, lucky crowd!

The couple have only just finished up their On The Run tour together, it seems as if they haven’t quite gotten sick of each other yet, which we love to see!
