Unless you've been living under a rock, you'll know that music's ultimate bad girl descended upon our nation's capital city last night, and boy did she make an impression… both on and off the stage.

Not only did she wow thousands of fans who flocked to watch her perform at the Aviva Stadium, but the Work singer even managed to impressed our very own Conor McGregor.

After shooting the breeze backstage, the notorious one took to social media to pay tribute to Ri-Ri, and he didn't hold back on his praise.

Uploading a snap of them in full form, Conor wrote: "An honour to see the pound for pound number 1 female in the game perform tonight!! This woman ain't playin!"

And the Crumlin-native wasn't the only one pumped over their meeting, with Rihanna also taking a moment this morning to give the champion a sweet shout-out.

"@thenotoriousmma #ConorMcGregor backstage last night! So much heart!" she gushed. "Thanks for your kind words!"

In the end of last night's match, Ireland drew 1-1 with Sweden, which will delight any Irish fan because that means we're one step further to the final.

And if there's anything that will get you motivated to support our boys in green, it's Conor McGregor's call to Ireland.

The UFC champion urged the lads to show how tough they really are, and refuse to take any backwards steps in their games.

"These young pups were still in their nappies when you were knee deep in the trenches," is one of our favourite lines from Conor's message, but apart from that, he is carrying the spirit we all need to win.

Our next match is Saturday, June 18, where we will go head to head against Belgium. Let's hope Conor's message sinks in as we take on the next stage.

If you were at Forbidden Fruit over the weekend, you might have been rubbing shoulders with some of Ireland's biggest stars.

Bono decided to attend the Bulmer's music festival and was seen watching Tame Impala take to the stage.

This comes just a week after the U2 star made an impromptu appearance at Bruce Springsteen.

But Bono wasn't the only famous face. Nope, our very own Conor McGregor was there too – and he was celebrating some good news.

Conor was seen raving among festival goers, just hours after his fight with Nate Diaz was confirmed for August 20.

Of course, when he was seen he was mobbed by fans, but the UFC champ didn't seem to mind, basking it all up in the sunshine.

Well, it's a busy day for Conor McGregor.

First, news of a new reality TV show about him and his family broke, and now, it has been confirmed that the MMA fighter will pose NUDE (yes, nude) for ESPN's Body Magazine.

The news was announced on Twitter yesterday, and it will see Conor be the sixth MMA fighter to ditch the clobber for the mag.

Other fighters who have posed naked in the past are Jon Jones, Ronda Rousey and Cristiane Santos.

There has been no word yet on when the issue will hit shelves, but we can see Conor's photoshoot being very… erm, imaginative.

Conor McGregor has become a household name all over the world, and now it seems that his family are reaching for the bright lights, too.

The UFC Champion's older sister Erin has opened up to Goss about her plans for the future – and revealed she's in talks to front her own reality TV show with Conor by her side.

Erin is launching a new hair salon and having a baby, which she thinks will make for great TV.

“It’s something I would definitely, definitely want to do. I think there’s a great market out there for a new reality show for Irish people." – Yes, yes, YES.

“My friends would say to me that my craziness is actually funny to watch. I just think people want to see real things that go on in your life," she said.

“I’ve been really open about my pregnancy because it’s tough going and I’m opening up my first business which is extremely difficult and now I realise why it’s not for the faint hearted."

Erin is opening her own salon – with Conor not only an investor but an active business partner – which will be called McGregor's Kings and Queens.

“Because Conor is the King and Dee is the queen it’s perfect. I want ordinary people to feel special and get the celebrity treatment,” she told the website.

We think this might be the start of something spectacular.

Boxer Floyd Mayweather has revealed that a boxing fight with Irish UFC fighter Conor McGregor looks like it might happen – and soon.

"It’s really not a rumour. The fight may happen. We really don’t know as of right now, but do I think the fight will happen? Absolutely,” Floyd said.

“He is no pushover. One thing about Conor McGregor, he is no pushover. He fell short in his last bout but a true champion can always bounce back so that’s a guy that I can’t overlook,” he told the presenter.

“We haven’t picked a venue, we haven’t talked about money yet. I am going to get $100m. Every time I go out that’s my number. Every time I go out and get inside that squared circle, it’s $100m or better.”

Would you like to see this happen?

He sent the Irish nation into a tailspin earlier this week when he announced he was turning his back on the world of fighting, but it looks like all is not as it seems with Conor McGregor.

Taking to Facebook this afternoon, the uber-famous Dubliner, in no uncertain terms, insists he has NOT retired, but does give an insight into the struggles he has faced since his rise to fame.

The lengthy statement comes after almost two days of heavy speculation that the Crumlin-native had decided to bow out of the arena following his highly-publicised defeat to Nate Diaz in March of this year.

But it looks like the notorious McGregor will be re-entering the ring very, very soon…

While the rest of the world was left reeling by Conor McGregor's big news last night, it seems Piers Morgan simply saw it as prime opportunity to take a swipe at the much-loved Dubliner.

Responding to the UFC World Champion's shocking tweet which announced his retirement last night, the Good Morning Britain host slammed the decision and tweeted a less than flattering shot of the fighter.

"You're going to QUIT as a LOSER?" the always-provocative Piers asked in a sarky tweet earlier today. "Seriously?"

Unsurprisingly, Twitter users wasted no time hitting back at the 51-year-old star, with one writing: "Piers, how many people have died presenting breakfast TV?"

Other Twitter users were quick to suggest that Piers was only weighing in on the debate for publicity, writing; "The 1st time I've ever seen you even post about MMA. Dont act like you know what you're talking about old toad."

"You are a complete idiot!" raged another. "Crawl back into your hole Morgan, don't comment on anything you know nothing about!"

We doubt Conor could care less what Piers thinks anyway…

Conor Mcgregor has been removed from his upcoming rematch with Nate Diaz after he refused to take part in any of the promotions for the UFC 200 main event.

Dana White, the UFC President confirmed the turn of events last night while talking to ESPN.

The row between the management of UFC and the Irish fighter led to a turbulent turn of events which saw Conor tweet about retiring early.

“I have decided to retire young. Thanks for the cheese. Catch ya’s (sic) later," he wrote on the social media site.

Conor's rematch with Nate was supposed to mark the UFC 200 card in Las Vegas on July 9.

Speaking to ESPN, Dana said: “The UFC is currently working on a new main event for the card, which will take place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

“You have to do the press conference, so Conor put out that tweet.

“Obviously, we still have a good relationship with Conor. I respect Conor as a fighter and I like him as a person, [but] you can’t decide not to show up to these things.”

Conor McGregor recently starred in an ad for Budweiser promoting a competition to win €50,000 and a job of your dreams.

However, RTÉ has banned the ad from appearing on its station.

The national broadcaster cited that they are against “heroes of the young” promoting alcohol, reports the Sunday Business Post.

When you watch the ad on Youtube you have to confirm your age but Budweiser have said they had the ad already pre-approved for TV.

Well, it seems like Justin Bieber just found himself in another celebrity feud – and this time it's with UFC fighter Nate Diaz.

Justin decided to share his disappointment about Conor McGregor losing his fight on social media, admitting "that broke me heart" when the Irish fighter was defeated.

He added, "No bandwagon but Conor is a true champion, fights with style and finesse, all the respect to Nate but his style is terrible. Nate has crazy heart respect."

Well, Nate wasn't too happy about the Biebs supporting Conor and totally hit out at him.

The fighter shared a photo on Instagram of him hitting Justin – in cartoon version – a captioned it "Biebers a hater."

Justin has yet to respond, but judging from his past feuds, there's no doubt he will.

It doesn't seem to be the best of times for Conor McGregor lately as one of his trainers has been arrested in relation to a deadly assault in Dublin.

The Herald reports that Jonathan Dargan, who coached Conor in Taekwondo for a number of years, is a doorman at the popular Dublin nightclub Lillie's Bordello.

The Tallaght man was arrested by Gardaí investigating the death of Patrick Mullally, who was punched over the weekend in his bid to break up an argument, and later died from his injuries.

Mr. Mullally was on his way home from his own retirement party at the time.

After being questioned for a few hours at Terenure Garda Station, Mr. Dargan was released without charge. According to the Irish Independent, he was not previously known to Gardaí and had a clean record.

It's thought Mr. Dargan ended up in a verbal row with a woman close to him on the night in question, with Mr. Mullally attempting to step in to intervene.

No other information has been released.
