News that Ariana Grande is headlining Manchester Pride has caused quite a stir already, with many arguing that the ticket prices have become extortionate as a result of the big name booking.

However, Grande is once again under the spotlight as reports are claiming that she's getting paid €116,000 MORE than Kylie Minogue to perform.

Sources close to the pop star are claiming that the Thank U, Next singer is getting a HUGE €291,000 for her Pride show, which hasn't impressed ticket buyers.

This tweet caught the attention of Grande the other day, who responded to the criticism with an eloquent note defending her performance;

"Hi my love, I have nothing to do with ticket pricing- Manchester Pride sets those rates, and they’re mostly out of my control," she tweeted. "The LGBTQ community has been so special to me and supportive throughout my entire career."

"The relationships I have with my LGBTQ fans, friends, and family make me so, so happy,’ she continued. "I want to celebrate and support this community, regardless of my identity or how people label me. And also I wanna visit a city that means so much to me."

"LGBTQ representation is incredibly important, and I’m always proud to share the stage with LGBTQ artists! Over the years, pride events have been headlined by performers and artists of all sexual orientations and genders, including straight allies like Cher and Kylie Minogue," she said.

"I’m not claiming to be the hero of the community or the face of the LGBTQ rights movement – I just wanna put on a show that makes my LGBTQ fans feel special and celebrated and supported. That’s all I wanna do," she concluded.

People aren't impressed that Ariana Grande is getting over €116,000 more than Kylie to perform, with a source at The Sun writing;

"Obviously they’re both massive stars but Ariana is like gold dust at the moment, so the organisers offered her top whack to take part."

The 25-year-old has paid attention to the criticism, but claims that ticket pricing was out of her hands. Kylie Minogue herself has yet to comment on the whole debacle, but the pay difference is most likely due to Ariana's demand.

As a recent Grammy winner, as well as releasing two albums over the last six months which have both reached number one, she's one of the world's most popular pop stars.

7 Rings, Thank U, Next and Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I'm Bored show no sign of leaving the charts anytime soon, and we definitely can't get them out of our heads. They're bangers.

What do you think of the debate on Manchester Pride? Is it acceptable for allies to get paid that much?

Olly Alexander from Years & Years recently pointed out that Pride will support more LGBT+ artists when people LISTEN to those artists' music, to hike up demand for them at festivals and concerts.

It's a two-way street; support can't just be shown one day of the year at Pride for LGBT+ musicians; it has to be 365 days a year for it to make an impact.

Lady Gaga has spoken out against the backlash regarding Cardi B's historic Grammy win for Best Rap Album.

The Joanne artist took to Twitter to express her pride in the Bodak Yellow rapper, who is the first solo woman to ever win the accolade.

Praising the rap star and social media personality, Gaga wrote;

"It is so hard to be a woman in this industry. What it takes, how hard we work through the disrespectful challenges, just to make art. I love you Cardi. You deserve your awards."

She concluded by telling her fans to "celebrate her fight. Lift her up & honoor her", calling Cardi "brave" for entering an industry which is notoriously difficult for women.

Cardi B was also pregnant with baby Kulture Kiara while recoding Invasion of Privacy, and worked tirelessly for months to finish it. The rapper has faced criticism over her Grammy win, with some claiming she is undeserving.

The duo became instant pals after meeting at the Grammy, after Cardi approached the A Star Is Born actress and legit fan-girled.

In 2016, Cardi tweeted about the Mother Monster's huge impact on her life: "When I was a teenager lady Gaga changed my life," she wrote. "She inspired me to be myself & be different." Gaga replied "Love you girl."

Cardi beat Travis Scott, Pusha T, Nipsey Hussle and Mac Miller in her category for the Best Rap Album Grammy, with Ariana Grande tweeting her disappointment that her deceased ex-boyfriend Mac Miller didn't win posthumously.

The rapper thanked her fans on Sunday night, and then uploaded then deleted an expletive-laden clip defending her hard work on Invasion of Privacy

"You know what, it's not my style for people to put other people down to uplift somebody else. That's not my style and that's not what I'm with and I don't support that, however I've been taking a lot of sh*t today," Cardi told the camera.

She continued; "I'm seeing a lot of bullsh*t today and I saw a lot of sh*t last night and I'm sick of this sh*t. I work hard for my mother f*cking album."

She referred to last year's criticism, which was supportive of her in comparison to this year;

"Everybody was like, 'Cardi got snubbed! Cardi got snubbed!' Now this year's a f–king problem? My album went two times platinum my n*gga and every chart that there was my album was always top ten, number one album as well!"

Cardi's baby Kulture was born on July 10 last year, and fell pregnant while creating the winning album;

"I f–king worked my a– off, locked myself in the studio for three months my n—a and then went to sleep in my own bed sometimes for four days straight—pregnant!" she said about it.

"Some songs couldn't even get on the f–king album because my nose was so f–king stuffy from my pregnancy." Chance the Rapper was another artist who jumped to her defence, as well as J. Cole:

Chance the Rapper called her victory "overly deserved," with J. Cole writing: "I don't never wanna be propped up by tearing somebody else down. Seeing Cardi B win a Grammy make me feel like I won."

Cardi re-tweeted the messages, saying;

"I listen to my album and I cry because I know the hell I went through doing the album is always a bittersweet memory," she typed alongside Chance's screenshot.

"THANK YOU EVERYONE THAT SUPPORTED ME AND LISTEN. I'm thankful and grateful and again thank you to all the artist that gave me a feature."

Lady Gaga has been outspoken about how difficult the music world is for women, saying at the Golden Globes: "As a woman in music it is really hard to be taken seriously."

The 32-year-old wrote her award-winning song Shallow about communication and having your voice heard;

"This song is a conversation between men and women. Asking each other questions about life and a desire for more depth of the shallowness of a modern era."

We LOVE seeing women support other women, keep it up Gaga.

Rap star and all-round hilarious legend Cardi B exploded at Instagram fans last night before disabling her profile altogether. We're DEVO.

The artist went on a rage-filled rant over the negative comments surrounding her Grammy Awards win; she was the first female solo artist to win Best Rap Album.

Apparently some felt she didn't deserve it, and she had some WORDS to say about the criticism, saying she "worked her ass off" to make Invasion of Privacy.

She reminded fans that she was pregnant while making the hit album, which helped her to make history at Sunday's ceremony; "I'm sick of this sh*t."

"I work hard for my motherf*cking album. I remember last year when everyone was saying Cardi got snubbed but now there’s a problem? My album went two-times platinum my n***** in every chart that there was, my album was always Top 10."

"Number one album as well. I worked my ass off, locked myself in the studio for three months then went to sleep in my bed for four days straight – pregnant," she said.

The star then deleted her entire Instagram profile, refusing to take any of the haters online. She made sure to thank her baby daughter Kulture in her Grammy acceptance speech, because her pregnancy gave her the motivation to finish the album.

"When I found out I was pregnant, my album wasn’t complete, I had three songs done. I had to shoot videos while I was still not showing. It was very long nights."

She posted a video thanking her fans and organisations for every single award she'd ever won, explaining that each is unique and special; "‘This sh*t is crazy," she said. "Every award is special to me, from Grammys, AMAs, Billboards, Nickelodeon, awards I get in another motherf*cking country, I don’t give a f*ck."

We hope the online community don't ruin her win for her, it's well-deserved and she's made HISTORY as a woman. Fair play, Cardi, you do you.

Kim Kardashian faced huge backlash over Christmas after she shared her gorgeous festive family portraits.

In the pictures, the family wears all black ensembles, except for Kim who opted for a statement white figure-hugging gown.

However, all anyone could talk about in the comments section was the bright red lipstick that Kim's daughter, five-year-old North was wearing.

Kim was criticised heavily for allowing her daughter to wear makeup at such a young age. However, Kim explained on Twitter that North loves makeup, and that Kim decided to allow her daughter to wear the lipstick to the annual Kardashian Christmas party as it was a special occasion.

'She picked it though! It’s a special occasion,' she tweeted.

Kim also revealed that the lipstick is a special red shade that will be released by KKW Beauty very soon.

Some fans in the comments section see no harm in North wearing lipstick because most children experiment with things like that, and they too did the same thing as kids.

Others think she is too young to have access to real makeup, and take issue with the face that they feel North is helping her mum sell her beauty products.

Others criticised Kim for straightening her daughter's naturally curly hair.

Kim previously told Refinery29 that North adored playing with makeup and getting creative with her look.

'I already know North is into makeup for sure.'

'She had friends over this weekend and some of her girlfriends came and they were just all in her room, giving themselves makeovers.'

Kim also responded to the criticism by uploading a video of North playing with makeup.

In typical child-like fashion, North is just copying her mum, adding deep blue eyeshadow and contouring powder to her nose in a liberal manner.

We're pretty sure we drew all over ourselves as kids with our mum’s lippie, so maybe just let kids be kids – and if that means letting them get creative with a bit of lipstick, so be it.

We all saw it happen with the all-female remake of Ghostbusters, and Sandra Bullock is refusing to see it happen with Ocean's 8.

Discussing the spin-off movie of the Ocean's Trilogy, the Oscar-winner, who will play Danny Ocean’s ex-con sister Debbie, urged critics to suspend their cynicism and wait for the movie's release before casting aspersions on it.

Paying tribute to her co-stars, Sandra told Entertainment Weekly: "I mean, I’ll tell you, we’ve got some feisty women that will fight right back. It’s like, let’s just take a breath and let’s just see if we come up with something fun."

"There should be a moratorium," she argued. "There should be a rule, you’re not allowed to say anything nasty until after it comes out. Obviously that’s never going to happen."

Sandra is keen to remind film-goers that she is not attempting an all-female remake (although, kudos if she was), but instead creating a whole new story – an endeavour which shouldn't warrant criticism.

"We’re not a reboot," she explains of the movie which will star Anne Hathaway, Cate Blanchett, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson and Rihanna. "We’re just a 'this is what’s happening in 2017'."

"It’s not even a passing of the torch. It’s a parallel story of another family member that was raised in the same family Danny Ocean was and what happens when Debbie steps out of jail with all of these amazing, powerful women."

Sandra has taken great solace from the all-female cast, telling the publication: "We all were like, okay, let’s just take care of each other for these six months and relish this opportunity we’re being given."

While Sandra certainly sees the merit in the approach, she refuses to be pigeonholed by lazy critics.

"We don’t want it to be just for women. This is not a man-hating. We love the men. There’s men in this movie. We love them. But this one heist needs women."

Hear, hear!

She wowed the judges with her latest Strictly performance, but that doesn’t mean Laura Whitmore is without her critics.

Last week, the Bray native hit headlines after reportedly ignoring Georgia May Foote’s request to stop posting photos of her dance partner and Georgia’s ex, Giovanni Pernice, on social media.

Since then, the former Coronation Street star has unfollowed the popular presenter online, presumably in a bid to distance herself from her former friend’s dance practices.

Now, Geordie Shore’s Marnie Simpson has decided to weigh in on the drama by criticising both Laura and Giovanni in her latest Star magazine column.

Fresh from her stint in Lithuania with Chloe Ferry, Lewis Bloor’s girlfriend wrote: “I don’t know why Georgia May Foote is bothered about her ex Giovanni Pernice – he’s not even nice.”

“She’s a beautiful girl and can do so much better.”
